Format is a 3-month competition with one initial weigh-in. A female and male overall winner will be decided by the greatest percentage of weight loss (not pounds). 3 2012 RESERVATION POLICY In order to better serve our community and provide the best possible experience, activities requesting an RSVP will be subject to a $5 upcharge for attendees responding after the deadline date unless otherwise specified. SOUTH VILLAGE CDD MEETINGS Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month at the Clubhouse Restaurant beginning at 6pm. Check online at for meeting updates, minutes and community information. GOLDEN EAGLES The Ladies Night Raffle and 2nd Annual Spaghetti Supper were great successes. Thanks to the generosity and caring of the Eagle Landing community, we provided clothes and gifts to 23 Clay County children in need. 50+ residents are invited to meet other residents, participate in social events & support our community. UPCOMING ACTIVITIES Due to an earlier than normal publication deadline, the activities for Jan/Feb were not yet finalized. Please check online or sign up for our s by calling RESIDENT CHRISTMAS PARTY TWEEN CORNER V.I.P.S PROGRAM The V.I.P.S. program is a volunteer program that allows adult Clay County residents the opportunity to assist their community by assisting the Clay County Sheriffs Office. Duties range in nature and opportunities vary across all three divisions of the Clay County Sheriff s Office. We ve added some help but still need a few more volunteers for this program to be successful in Eagle Landing. Please contact Jim Moore at moorefarmers@aol.com for an application. TEENS & TWEENS MOVIES & MUNCHIES Friday, February 3rd 7pm-10pm Residents Club Ages 11+ SOUL SURFER A young, teenage surfer girl summons the courage to go back into the ocean after losing an arm in a shark attack. Over a dozen colleges will compete in a 54-hole team as well as individual events. More details in next month s newsletter! GOLF HITTING SESSIONS Monthly Fee $20 Members $30 Non-members Ladies Tuesdays, 9am Men Thursdays, 9am MEN S MATCH PLAY Play begins February 4th and ends April 28th $25 Entry Fee Golf members only. Each player has one week to finish their match. JUNIOR GOLF CLINICS Saturday, January 14 and February 11 Ages 5-15 $15 per clinic 10am - 12pm TENNIS ADULT TENNIS CLINICS EVENING CLINICS $10 per clinic Ages 17+ Ladies Night Monday 7pm - 8pm Mixed Clinic Tuesday 7pm - 8pm Men s Night Wednesday 7pm - 8pm ADULT MORNING CLINICS $15 per clinic M W F 9am -10:30am NEW!! DEVELOPMENTAL TENNIS Monday $10/class 6pm - 7pm This class is for those who have either never played or are still learning the proper technique and positioning. Focus is on grips, strokes, footwork and point construction. Class starts Monday, January 9th for a 4-week trial period. The future of this class will be based on participation. SUPER BOWL OF TENNIS Saturday, January 21st 6pm - 9pm In the spirit of the upcoming Super Bowl, join us for a competitive tennis social. Sign up with a partner to compete for the championship. JUNIOR TENNIS CLINICS TINY TOTS Ages minute class $5/class Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm - 4:30pm A class focusing on the fundamentals. Drills and games are aimed to be fun while introducing young children to tennis. INTERMEDIATE ACES Ages 6+(based on level) 1hr class $10/class Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30pm - 5:30pm Program consists of games and drills with the intent to be able to play points and rally back and forth. Many of these players have moved up from tiny tots or played in Summer Camp. New players are always welcome as we still focus much of our attention on the basic fundamentals of tennis. GRAND PRIX Based on level 90 minute class $12.50/class Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30pm - 7pm Players in this class are able to serve, play points, and move around the entire court. A more intense class focusing on footwork, stroke production, and setting up points. Most of the players in this group are starting to play tournaments and USTA junior league.
