8 Presidents Message The 66 th Houston Hoedown has finally arrived and we are excited to see everyone in Galveston in a few short weeks. Our visitations to the clubs are limited this month as we prepare for the Hoedown. Our committees have worked hard to make this a Hoedown to remember. Look throughout this issue and you will see information about the Snack Bar and Raffles. Be sure you don t miss the Last Square Standing competition on Saturday. We ve included some information on this in this issue also. If you have missed the pre-registration deadline, we have included the At the Door prices. We have also reprinted the schedule for you. Don t miss the Awards and Recognitions on Saturday. We will be announcing the 2014 Dance Promoter and Caller of the Year. Don t forget to turn your clocks back on Sunday, November 2 nd as Daylight Savings Time ends and we revert to Standard Time. We hope to C U Round in a Square in Galveston, Jerry & Linda Edwards TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS If you know of someone having problems downloading or viewing the on-line Where N When, please share these troubleshooting tips with them. One of the following options should work: 1. Save the file to your computer. Right click the link on the web page. Click Save Target As...then choose a location that you will remember such as your desktop. Open the saved file. 2. Open the file directly in the reader. Open Acrobat Reader, click Edit, Preferences, Internet and deselect the option to open in browser. 3. Adobe Reader and Internet Explorer do not always play well together. Download Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome and use that as your browser. 4. Change the security settings in Adobe Reader to deselect enhanced security (Edit, Preferences, Security, deselect Enable Enhanced Security). 5. Use another PDF reader, such as Foxit at www. Foxitsoftware.com. These issues are not uncommon and are documented in Adobe forums. If none of these tips work, please wherenwhen@ outlook.com and we will you the file. A note from Donna Meiers... What a great world of Square dancers we have in the Houston area. I want to thank you for all the cards, phone calls, food, flowers and well wishes. Wayne loved to square dance, and he loved all of you. Most of all thank you for the Memorial dance. The donations are greatly appreciated and will surely help. Thanks again for being such a wonderful group of friends. Blessings to you Donna -8-
