It is filled with solid preachig, sacred ad classical cocerts, ad may other veues for fellowship. Here is a preview of the week ad its evets. We have all see the frequetly asked questios sectios o websites, but all of us have our ow persoalized lists of FAQs. I our BJU world, each of our FAQ lists has at least three questios i commo: What year are you? What s your major? ad Where are you from? Do t worry, if you have t bee asked these i a while, chapel seats will be chagig agai. Depedig o how iterested the asker really is i your aswers, his or her FAQ list may get a little bit more customizable based o your resposes. For istace, whe I say I m from Illiois, I get a questio like Are you from Chicago? To which I reply: I live owhere ear Chicago. Tomorrow, studets will clea their rooms before the residece halls clear at 5 p.m. To alleviate the chore of cleaig, WBJU will provide music ad some excitemet. Sophomore jouralism ad mass commuicatio major Maria Ervi said past White Glove broadcasts have brought the souds of pirates ad Mexica fiestas across the air. Other themes have icluded coffee, sports ad St. Patrick s Day. Accordig to Ervi, ulike past, this semester s WBJU White Glove broadcast does ot have a specific theme ad cast will be low-key. For orgaizig items withi drawers, Zae suggested puttig boxes withi drawers to keep thigs from gettig mixed together. Plastic drawer cotaiers are a great way to stay orgaized. Haah Neds uses these to hold her educatio supplies such as stickers, scissors ad glue. Also, Naselli said studets should clea the overhead lights ad the medicie cabiet shelves, which are ofte overlooked. Naselli suggested some practical ideas whe cleaig. I regards to closet orgaizatio, seior family ad cosumer scieces major Margaret Aderso suggested layerig sweaters over sleeveless tops ad usig layered skirt hagers to free up more closet space. Seior elemetary educatio majors Haah Neds ad Susie Zae suggested orgaizig clothes by category: skirts, pats, short-sleeve shirts ad log-sleeve shirts. Closet-hagig jewelry orgaizers ad jewelry display stads are great alteratives to the traditioal jewelry box. Haah Neds ad Aderso said these make jewelry more visible for easy retrieval. Istead of throwig scarves i a drawer or usig up closet space, Aderso said she ties her scarves to the buk ladder. Studets as well as faculty ad staff ed hard to prepare for the day, decoratig the residece halls ad other buildigs o campus. Nearly every buildig displayed a gree or red baer; eve the street lamps glowed with red ad gree light. of this preparatio helped to build excitemet ad geerate team spirit. O the morig of Gold Rush Daze, studets were greeted i their residece halls by faculty ad staff who delivered Krispy Kreme The Collegia. Mar. 15, 2013 doughuts, fruit cups ad juice for breakfast. Later, the team competitios bega with gree ad red parades, ad studets packed the stads of Alumi Stadium to watch the spirited processios. May studets also participated i the parades by wearig costumes ad drivig decorated vehicles. Gree team members showed a lot of spirit ad creativity i their parade etries. Juior political sciece major Be Smith expressed his excitemet about his team s parade. The gree team seems to be very uited, he said. Gree s parade featured Dr. Stephe Joes at the head of the parade as well as a umber of luxury cars. Juior humaities major Cody Lehma s favorite part of Gree Thuder s parade was the Lotus Elise ad the Mercedes Bez. Other gree parade participats icluded a pageat float with Miss Thuder, the Greeville Drive s mascot Reedy ad the Suber Road Baptist Church bus. Graduate assistat Tim Peterso gaied much attetio from the cheerig crowd by breathig fire. Peterso said he used his talet for the last Gold Rush Daze as well. Next, it was Red Lightig s tur to show off some spirit. The team s parade featured a umber of red cars with cheerig studet riders, fire trucks ad the Chick-fil-A cow. We have horses, we have Sata Claus ad we have the Icredibles, sophomore commuicatio disorders major Sarah Twigg said. Twigg was part of a group that pushed Target shoppig carts ad threw items from the carts ito the crowd. Other participats icluded studets who performed acrobatic stuts, a red dump truck ad retiree Corba Tabler dressed as the character from Disey Pixar s Up. Sophomore early childcare ad developmet major Megha Gold drove her car i the parade. [The best part was] seeig gree s faces whe we came out with all our red spirit, she said. At the ed of the parade, Dr. Marshall Frakli, executive vice presidet ad chief operatios officer, was lifted to ew heights i a America Tree ad Lad Co. cherry picker. The Red Lightig team roared as the lift rose higher ad

5 higher. After a time of cheerig from both teams, Red Lightig was aouced as the wier of the parade. Margaret Mack residece hall couselor Katie Betacourt said the parade exceeded her expectatios. I was i charge of the parade [alogside Katie Adams ad Rachel Dahlhause], so wiig it was a rewardig experiece, she said. Dr. Da Oliger, chair of the Divisio of Bible, ad Mr. Paul Radford, faculty member i the School of Fie Arts ad Commuicatio, served as the aoucers for the afteroo by etertaiig commetary durig the athletic evets. [My favorite part is] hearig the studets. There s so much spirit. They re ig so hard, they re havig such a good time, Oliger said. The games bega with Ambush at See Saw Hill, a game that let wome studets throw pies at Dr. Eric Newto, dea of studets, ad Mr. Jo Daulto, dea of me. [I m excited about] doig somethig I could ever do agai, said Rachel Beck, a seior ursig major ad Gree Thuder team participat. Ad that was the case for most studets, as they participated i uique, outladish games: relay races that ivolved skateboards, roller blades ad wheel barrows; giat obstacle courses ad tug of war games; ad races to create life-size letters or symbols. The fas cheered o their teams durig every NEWS game, ad pep bads boosted the spirits i the stads. There were impromptu cheer-offs ad pep bad playoffs, ad Red Lightig wo both. It is t eve close! The competitio was close, especially sice Gree wo the decoratig competitio ad may athletic evets. But Red Lightig wo Gold Rush Daze 2013 by a mere 50 poits. The team stormed the field ad ra a victory lap i celebratio. The ext evet, faculty body, provided some comic relief for the uiversity family. The faculty loves doig it, the studets love seeig it, Oliger said. A lot of creativity goes 5 ito it. It s always well directed. Ad it s just a hoot. The first half yielded plety of opportuities for each team. The Pirates ad Tigers traded shots back ad forth, ad the Pirates eve had two shots iside the box toward the ed of the half. Each shot was blocked by the Tigers defesive backs. The half eded scoreless, despite heavy offesive activity from both teams. But the secod half took a differet toe ad got off to a fast start with a Tigers breakaway dow the right third of the field. Pirates stadout juior goalie, Deborah Greelee, made a aggressive slide o the ball ad erased the play at the edge of the box. Greelee cotiued her solid goalkeepig ito the ext play ad made aother stellar save to keep the score eve at zero. The first score came i the secod half whe the Tigers, who had cotrolled play for the first five miutes, let Pirates seior forward Becca Evas slip betwee two defesive backs ad fire a shot ito the back ettig o the breakaway for a 1-0 lead. The Goodwill Mud Ru will take place o April 13 at 7 a.m. The race will be held at Chapel Road i Greeville. A 3.5-mile obstacle course, the Mud Ru is desiged to be tackled by a team of four.
