1 HEBRON FLYER Volume XVIII, Issue 14 HELPING STUDENTS SUCCEED March 10, 2017 $345 BIG BROTHER / BIG SISTER TOMORROW MARCH 11 TH On March 11 th from 3:00 to 7:00, the National Junior Honor Society will be holding a big brother / big sister day. There will be various activities and games for every age to participate in and have fun. Please drop off your child at the Middle School entrance, door D. Cost of the event is $5.00, which we will use to provide the kids with pizza and drinks. When you arrive to pick your child up that day, you must come in and sign them out from the Middle School entrance, door D. You may pick your child up early if necessary, but please let us know when you drop them off. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Dan Pastrick at , ext. 261, or by , pastrickd@hebronschools.k12.in.us. CLOCKS SPRING FORWARD THIS WEEKEND Make sure to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed on Saturday, March 11 th. Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 12 th. MATH BOWL TEAM COMPETES AT COMPETITION On Thursday, February 23rd Hebron Elementary 4th and 5th graders participated in the area Academic Math Bowl competition. The team consisted of the following competitors; Riley Asher, Grace Bixeman, Cadence McClure, Caleb Langley, Tate Hildebrandt, Seth Weaver, Robert Summerville, Logan Ensign, Natasha Kennedy, Victoria Mantai, Addison Dujmovich, Angelia Panagiotidis. The students worked hard to prepare for the competition. The questions were very difficult and they did a wonderful job. Congratulations to the 2016 M.A.T.H. Bowl team on a job well done! I would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Martin for proctoring, Mrs. Hildebrandt and Mrs. Langley for chaperoning the students. END OF GRADING PERIOD / REPORT CARDS The end of the 3 rd grading period will be on Friday, March 17 th. Report Cards will go home on Wednesday, March 22 nd. MEETING ON MONDAY, MARCH 13 TH Our next P.T.G. meeting will be on Monday, March 13 th at 7:00 P.M. in the Library. Kindergarten Roundup will be held on April 12 and 13. If you would like to help at this fun event or bake cookies, please contact Stephanie Mathews or Becky Pearman. Grandparent s Day is set for May 12 th. We hope to see you and a friend on Monday! HERNANDEZ S 3 RD GRADE NEWS The 3 rd grade students have been working extremely hard to get ready for their first round of ISTEP tests and the IREAD tests. They did a great job on the first part of the ISTEP and they will be taking the IREAD the week of March 13 th. Parents you can help by making sure your child is on time, has eaten a good breakfast, and has gotten a good night s sleep. Please try to make your child s morning as stress free as possible. Don t forget to make sure your child has his/her glasses, and plenty of #2 pencils. CHILDREN S ART SHOW ON DISPLAY NOW! By Mrs. Drazer Artwork made by Hebron Elementary students is on display now at the Hebron Public Library! We like to take our children's artwork out into the community every Spring to share the great work and talent of our Art students with the public. This bright and happy exhibit is a favorite with library patrons and will be up for the entire month of March. Students will tell many stories through songs. It will be an exciting show featuring famous songs including Don Gato and Waltzing with Bears. No real bears will be used in this program, so you will not have to worry about feeding the bears at the show! The public is invited and we hope to see everyone there. Third Graders do not have to wear any special clothes for this performance.
