2 2019 Leading Money List We will have the 2019 Leading Money List and will provide the coveted Jackets to the top 10 finishers. This list will comprise of Golf Shop credit won through tournaments and pro-am events along with Duck Bucks earned through our sponsored events. For more information, an entry form or to register Online please see Golf Shop or go to 2018 Men s Club Ryder Cup Young Guns vs Wise Guys Sunday, April 14 8:00am Shotgun The top 20 men under 50 (Young Guns) will compete with the top 20 men 50 and over (Wise Guys) in a four-ball format (best ball) using respective handicaps. The top guys will include the 2018 Men s Club Champion Arnell Garza and the Seniors Club Champion Ken Wade. The remaining 19 will be based on the leading money list at the conclusion of the Coca-Cola Ball Buster on November 4, 2018 and must be a current Men s Club Member. If any of the top 19 can t make it then we will go down the list. The 20 that signed up last year will have first opportunity. Entry fee $25. Winning team takes all the entry fees plus the $1,000 added by the Men s Club. This gives all 20 Members on the winning team $100. 3 2-Man Monday Ladder League League entry fee per player $100. This 2-Man Net Best Ball Ladder League will start on Monday, April 29. It will go from April 29 July 8 (10 weeks) with bye week on May 27. This will be a 6:00pm Shotgun Start. 100% payout of entry fee in Duck Bucks. Team taken in Groups of 4. First come first serve. Limited to the first 32 teams (64 players). Sign up now! Two-Man Tuesday This 2-Person Best Ball Format (lowest score per hole) will be every Tuesday. This will be a 9-hole competition all day Tuesday. $5.00 per player entry fee. 100% of the entry fees paid out in Duck Bucks to both the gross and net winners. Must have a combined handicap of at least 10 to qualify for gross. No handicap required for net. The World- Famous Handicapping System will be used for net results. Winners will be posted on the bulletin board as well as at KONA Business Golf League Team entry fee $100. This league will start on Wednesday, April 3. Each team will consist of at least four players. Substitutions welcomed. Limited to the first 28 teams. Prizes will be paid out in Duck Bucks, Coyote Bobs and Crazy Moose Gift Certificates. There will be a different 9-hole format each week. $5.00 per player entry fee. 80% of the entry fee will be paid in Duck Bucks to the net winners each week with 20% paid out to the league winners at the end of the season. Thursday Evening Ladies Play Thursday Evening Ladies Play will be every Thursday Evening starting on April 11. Each team will be randomly drawn. There will be a different 9-hole scramble format each week. $5.00 per player entry fee. 100% of the entry fee will be paid in Duck Bucks to both the gross and net winners each week. This will be a 5:30pm or 6:00pm shotgun start. All ladies must be signed up at least 45 minutes early on the day of the event. Phone entries will be accepted. Friday Evening Couples Friday Evening Couples will be every Friday evening starting on April 12. There will be a $5.00 per player entry fee. Each couple is asked to bring an appetizer to share (appetizers available in the Duck Pond for $10). 100% of the entry fee will be paid in Duck Bucks to both the gross and net winners each week. Payout will be split three different ways: Couples Gross over 55 (Both must be over 55), Couples Gross under 55 (Just one has to be under 55) and Net Combined. This will be a 6:00pm or 6:30pm shotgun start. All couples must be signed up at least 45 minutes early on the day of the event. Phone entries will be accepted. Ladies & Wine Golf Clinic Tuesday Evenings (starting April 16) 5:30pm 7:00pm Cost $20 ( Ladies Club Members $15) Includes a beverage of your choice. First day of posting started March Golf Universe Hole-In-One Pot Everyone who signs up for a 2019 Canyon Lakes Men s or Ladies Club Membership will have $10 of their club dues allocated to the hole-in-one pot. This will end with the 2019 Golf Universe Closing Scramble on October 19. Each hole-in-one will receive $100 plus recognition in the Canyon Lakes Newsletter and facebook. All winners will be paid cash immediately. Any cash left over will be used for the closest to the pins during the 2019 Closing Scramble. All hole-in-one winners, plus the 2019 Closing Scramble winning teams, will get one shot from less than 100 yards immediately after the Closing Scramble. The men s closest to the pin and the ladies closest to the pin will each receive $500 Golf Universe Gift Certificates. If the maintenance crew waits on every golf group, they will not get done. We know it is a trade off but please be patient or make a tee time later in the day. Thank you. From the Maintenance Department We ask that you keep all golf carts at least 30 feet away from greens and tee boxes and on cart paths where provided. We also ask that you pair up as much as possible. We ask that all golfers please reserve a tee time and check into the Golf Shop before you play. Our goal is to accommodate as many golfers as possible. Anytime that we have a group booked and they don t take up the entire golf course, we will open up tee times for our members and customers. Generally, there will be gross and net winners for each event. For our leagues and special events, net will be decided using the World-Famous Handicapping System. We pick 3 random holes and determine your handicap from that. If you are over par on the holes selected, you get to subtract 3 shots for 9-hole events and 6 shots for 18-hole events from your total score for every stroke that you were over par on the combined holes. If you are under par on the holes selected, you have to add 3 shots for 9-hole events and 6 shots for 18- hole events for every stroke that you were under par on those combined holes. If you are even par on the holes selected, then no harm no foul you break even. This will give everyone an equal opportunity to win. No handicap required.
