1 Gentlemen of the BTC, October, 08 Two more weeks of golf to the close of our 08 season. Hard to believe how fast our summers come and go. Three weeks to our winter season of bowling and tennis as we chase another ball around. Next week we are at Ravisloe for our pay full price for half the shots -Man Alternate Shot Tourney. The following week we will be at the Meadows in Blue Island afterwards in the club house will be a sponsored Larry (BEGGARS) Garetto pizza party. That s all I have for this past week in club news. Right now we have potential members in good standing for this position. Bob Schaefer, Chuck Schwenn, Jeff Quilici, and Jerry Jasinski. We still have time for a club member in good standing to place their name for nomination. If interested and willing to contribute your efforts to the Club, please talk to one of our officers, we need someone to step up! November, 08 is our Election of Officers. Schlesser Heatter Bondi Musser Zilis Mady Oliva Here are the rules for the Alternate Shot Event: Each team is made up of two players, player X and player Y. Before teeing off, each team determines who will hit first and what golf ball they will use, i.e. Player X likes Callaway and Player Y likes Taylor Made. They agree to play the Callaway and Player X tees off. Player Y will hit the Callaway from where it lies he will not replace the Callaway with his Taylor Made. The Callaway will be played for the entire hole hitting it as it lies and not improving any lie. Once on the green the ball may be switched for putting. Player Y will tee off on the nd hole. Each player will alternate tee shots so that both players hit 9 tee shots each. Each Player will tee off on the par 's, but only the first ball counts for your team score. The second player gets a tee shot on the par 's to see if he can get a hole in one, but must pick up his ball immediately after his attempt. If a hole in One occurs, that player wins the prize. This is how Alternate Shot gets its name. You take turns hitting the ball no player will hit two consecutive shots on any given hole. If Player X hits the ball in the water, then Player Y will drop a ball at the point of entry taking a penalty stroke, and Player Y will hit the next shot. If Player Y tees up first on the par and hits the ball OB, then Player X tees up, and if he gets a hole-in-one then the holein-one would count for the prize, but the team score would be for that hole.
