2 From the General Manager Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. I m looking forward to a great 2018 here at the Club. We are in the final stages of putting together proposed renovation renderings of the bar, patio, outdoor patio for the fairway room, and ladies locker room. Once these renderings are complete they will be displayed in the clubhouse for your review, and a town hall meeting will take place in late February or early March. This is an exciting time for the Club as we continue to head in the right direction. As we move past the month of December I want to thank the entire Food and Beverage staff for their hard work. Chef Grayson and his team and Lindsay and her team all stepped up to the plate and delivered another successful holiday season for the members and companies that hosted their parties at the Club. December is always the busiest month of the year for catering and this month was no exception. The holiday decorations are a huge part of what makes the season so festive. Debbie Laney continues to make the Club shine during the month of December. With her direction and the assistance of Daniel, Dawn, and other team members, I continue to receive nothing but compliments on how beautiful the Club looks. Thank you to all that were involved in making this December so special. The Welcome Back program will run for the month of January only. Any past member who paid an initiation fee and left in good standing can come back with a waived initiation. There is an 18 month commitment with this program. If you know of any past member that fits this criteria and may be interested in coming back please have them contact me. January will kick off with Music in the Lounge on January 5 th with Country by Joe. The monthly Theme Buffet is Breakfast for Dinner on January 10 th. There is no a la carte menu this evening, but the snack bar will be open until 9:00pm. Family Magic Night is back on January 12 th with Adrian Gagnon. This is a fun evening of magic that is always a great night for families to attend. Call Dawn to make your reservations before it s too late. Every Thursday evening we will offer the 2 for $20 Menu in addition to the regular a la carte menu. Thank you for your continued support of the Club.

5 From the Golf Pro Jeff Avant, PGA We hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season. During this time of year as the temperatures are colder please check with the golf shop for delays and changes to starting holes. We try to anticipate potential frost delays with the greens staff when taking tee-times, but we may need to adjust them if the weather becomes colder than forecasted. Also, on certain days we will start on Hole 10, because the back nine tends to thaw sooner than the front and allows us to start play sooner. If you would like to be removed from the handicap roster please let the golf shop know as this must be done by the end of January. We will be billed for the roster then and anyone on the roster will be billed accordingly for the yearly fee of $22. We are looking forward to a great year of golf in 2018 and hope that everyone can find time to get out and play more often. Please let the golf shop know if we can be of assistance in any way. Thank You, Jeff Avant, PGA From the Greens Superintendent Greg McDanel, CGCS I hope everyone has enjoyed the golf course and had a wonderful holiday season. The greens staff is busy preparing the course and equipment for The leaves have been mulched which benefits the soil in the wooded areas. We will be removing dead hardwood trees and pruning limbs where needed. Pine trees will be cut and the logs hauled off the property. The limbs that we cut will be chipped and used for mulch in beds on the golf course. Tree stumps will be ground in February. We have learned a lot about the TifEagle greens after the first full growing season. It has been determined that we do not have adequate sunlight on the number one green to provide optimum growing conditions. Trees will be cut to increase sunlight on the green. The three-hole system on the greens is working well. New cup locations will be cut on the greens in mid to late January. Pigments have been used on the greens to keep them green. If they go completely dormant we will paint them. The greens will be covered if the night time temperatures are 25 degrees or less and the day time high temperatures are less than 50 degrees for two consecutive days. Wind and moisture can make covering greens more difficult and time consuming. It takes seven staff members 3 ½ -4 hours to put the covers on and the same time to take the covers off and fold them up. Thank you for your support! Sincerely, Greg McDanel CGCS
6 From the Tennis Pro Francis DiMenna, USPTA Happy New Year to all! Looking back, 2017 was a great year for tennis at RHCC. The program continues to grow, and 2018 looks to be even better! Please be on the lookout for the upcoming release of the tennis calendar, adult/ junior clinics, and all other programs at the courts. There will be opportunities for play whether you are new to the game or an avid team player. Just a reminder to check the website for the daily court conditions. Courts will be closed at times due to the colder temperatures. Playing on courts when they are closed is dangerous for the player and can ruin the courts for the upcoming season. Even though the temperatures are chilly, the spring tennis season will be here before we know it. RHCC will again be fielding teams that compete in both the USTA and QC Leagues. Matches will be certain weekday mornings. If interested in more information, please tennis@rollinghillscountryclub.org. Lastly, thank you again to all the members at Rolling Hills. Your continued support made 2017 a great year. I look forward to an even better Happy New Year! Francis DiMenna Save the Date Superbowl Party Sunday, February 4th
