After winning two Couples events in a row Don Neal and Sherry Grimm were banned from all Couples events for the rest of The FSGA handicap will be renewed unless you go to the Pro Shop and tell Craig Misch that you do not want a handicap. Handicaps are required for all Club sponsored events like the Member/Guest and Club Championships. Christmas Couples Golf Outing The Christmas Couples outing was held on December 21st and almost everyone was finished before the big rain came. Eight teams competed for bragging rights and Pro Shop credit. The winners were: 1st Place Sherry Grimm/Don Neal and Reka/Rick Reaktenwalt, 2nd Place Christine/Richard Small and Kitty/Mike Bolier 3rd Place Barbara/Roy Brandford and Karen and Tom Brondyke. 2 Men s Fall Scramble Bob Keating & Bob Bainbridge The first men s fall scramble was held on Nov. 22 nd and was a great success. We had a total of 60 players that came from our membership as well as some outside players. We all enjoyed pizza and beer afterwards that was served by the Crown and Shield. We paid out five places with the winners sharing the top prize of $ st place- Dave Bean, John Bendick, Don Tubbs, Craig Arnold 2 nd place- Terry Neikirk, Julio Quinones, Rick Reaktenwalt, Joseph Bente 3 rd place- Ron Field, Dick Sjogren, Ace Rossom, Gene Sass 4 th place- Pat O Malley, Ken Sommers, Bob Titton, Roy Bradford 5 th place- Bob Keating, Jim Woodle, Bob Hamilton, Tom Christe We would like to thank Craig Misch and his staff in the pro shop for all their help with organizing, collecting entry fees and putting the teams together. Also thanks to Sam Floyd and the staff at the Crown and Shield for all their work. We plan to hold a similar event in April. An exact date will go out soon so that everyone can mark it on their calendars. We would like to have an even bigger turnout! Look for an announcement sometime after the first of the year. MMGA - Denny Bettisworth The MMGA here acknowledges their new members for 2014: Bob Caracciolo, Al Dame, Chuck Geitz, David Maki, John Padula, Carl Rivenbark, Mike Russomano, Dick Sjogren, and Russ VanNess. Welcome aboard. Here are a couple of reminders: 1. Membership dues for 2015 are due January 1, The dues are $35.00 and are payable to Tom Lawrenson, MMGA treasurer, by cash or check. Checks should be made out to MMGA. 2. The annual Dinner Dance will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015, in the Great Hall. There will be a social hour from 5:00-6:00 PM; dinner from 6:00-7:00 PM; and music and dancing from 7:00-10:00 PM. The event is free to MMGA members, and the guest fee is $ Tickets are available from Nick Vandewerker on Wednesday Mornings from 7:00-8:00 AM, and Saturdays from 10:00-11:00 AM in the clubhouse. Everyone must have a ticket so that seating and dinner requirements can be met. Thanks again for everyone that participated and we hope to see all of you back in April. 2

3 NEWS FROM the MWGA Betty Gibson, Contributor Happy New Year to everyone from the MWGA. We had a fabulous year end dinner at the Crown and Shield. Not only was the food great but the decorations, treats, and camaraderie was terrific. We all loved the special doggies created by our president Evelyn Weasner. Thanks to Helene Olchowik and Karen Teegarden for their many years as our game day coordinators. They will be retiring but still helping Sue Scap and Judy Keating. 6 Club News Susy Pita graciously made two gift baskets to be raffled off and the money went toward club expense. A total of $ was collected and Dollie Page and Patty & Paul Broat were the winners. Crown & Shield The Club wants to thank Jer & Marcia Padgett for their donation of two Norfolk pine trees that they grew on their lania. These trees are now located on the right of the #2 tee box and on the north side of hole #16 on the other side of the hazard. The Crown & Shield received an early Christmas present this year. Thanks to all the members who voted to expand our dining room. The capacity we now have will allow us to seat more for the dinners we are open, plus allows us to accept larger tournaments that include food and beverage. THANK YOU!!! 6
