3 Dates June 25, 26, 27 July 9, 10, 11 July 16, 17, 18 9:30am 12:00pm $150 per junior Due to popular demand we have added one more of our 3 day junior golf camps to this summer s calendar. Choose the date (s) that work for your summer break schedule and sign up online. Space is limited to the first 15 participants to sign up for each camp. The camp includes instruction on all aspects of the game in a fun, activity based environment. Participants will spend time on the practice range, short game facility and on course. Each participant will receive a tee prize package. Included in the camp entry fees, campers are invited to participate in the end of season junior tournament and BBQ which takes place on Thursday July Men s Invitational Topics Covered Swing FUNdamentals Rules of Golf Etiquette The 2013 Men s Invitational, held on May 3-4 was a fun and exciting event to the finish. Four flights competed during round 1 in a front nine scramble, back nine chapman format and in a 2 man cha cha during round 2. As in past years, the winners of each flight competed in a 3 hole playoff to determine the overall champions. The winners of each flight were as follows: Palmer Flight (and overall winners) Robert Tocci and Kyle Kulling; Nicholas Flight (and 3rd place overall) Shane Watkins and John Hernandez; Norman Flight (and 2nd place overall) Don Stewart and Chuck Gallo; Player Flight Adolph Cordova and Carl Koch. Congratulations to this year s winners and thank you to all the participants. Schedule of Rounds Round 1 - August 3 Rnd 2/Consolation Rnd - August 4 Round 3 - August 10 Finals - August 11 $21.00 Per Player (Does Not Include Carts) This event will be worth 1 point towards Tournament Participation Points No Food & Beverage will be included for this Tournament Prize Fund and Trophies for winners included in Entry Fee New Match Formats This years Club Championship will be held in a 18 Hole Match Play Format. Players will be broken into Brackets of 16. The low 16 players, sorted by index, will make up the Championship Bracket, the next 16 players will fill the First Bracket, continuing this system until all players are assigned. Each player will be guaranteed a minimum of two rounds with their entry fee. After Round One, the winners will continue on in the same bracket and the losers will continue on in a Consolation bracket, competing until a second loss occurs. Gift Certificates will be given to the final 4 players in each Bracket. The Final match in the Men s Championship Bracket will consist of 36 Holes. All other Brackets will be 18 Holes Monster Pin Day On June 15 th, 2013 Discovery Bay Country Club Members are in for a challenge. In the spirit of the U.S. Open, we will be increasing the difficulty of the golf course by setting the tees in the very back of their respected tee boxes and also setting the Pin locations in the most difficult part of every green. We invite everyone to come out and see how hard we can make our favorite golf course. Tee Times for the day will be normal Saturday times. Make your tee time and come on out to experience the challenge. Available Mondays in July The golf course will be available for play with a 9:00 am shotgun start on the following dates: No Open Mondays In June July 8 th & July 22 nd No Open Play following Shotgun The Snack Bar (depending on participation) will be open during play. The upstairs restaurant will be closed. If you are looking to add another day of golf into your weekly schedule don t forget our Monday morning shotguns. The Driving Range will close once Shotgun begins. Family Fun Night Discovery Bay Country Club would like to invite you to our Family Fun Night on June 14 from 4-7 pm. In an effort to promote the excitement of Junior Golf, we will be hosting fun events for kids and families of Discovery Bay Country Club. The event will be located on both the Driving Range as well as the Golf Course using our Family Tees. These Tees are on the Back 9 and are set up between yards on each hole. These Tees are identified by Silver Tee Markers and can be used for beginning golfers of all ages. Following our fun event on the course, participants will be invited for complimentary Hot Dogs & Sodas. Due to space restraints on the golf course as well as the restaurant this event will be available to the first 20 kids on a first come first serve basis. Sign-ups are available on Foretees or by calling the golf shop. Each junior will be allowed to bring two adults as participants in the event.

We have taken the best and most popular from both our current Friday and Sunday dinner menus and formats and combined them together to create this great new menu. Sunday evening casual dining in the Grill has been well supported with the relaxed dress requirement and the reasonable prices so we are going to offer Friday evening dining in the Grill as well. For those who prefer the atmosphere in the Main Dining Room, the Informal dress code will still apply. The Grill will be available for dining on Friday from 5-8 pm and Friday dining in the Main Dining Room will remain from 6-8:30 pm. The grill will be available on Sundays from 4:30 7:30 pm. The new menu includes a great selection of Salads, Appetizers, Entrée Specialties and Weekly Specials at great prices. Annual Parent/Grandparent Child Tournament Results Thanks for your par cipa on and we hope you enjoyed the day. The club s annual parent child tournament was held on April 28 and had 62 par cipants compe ng for the tle in four separate ights. A new addi on to the event this year was the inclusion of the open division which was comprised of parents or grandparents with junior members ages This new ight had four 2 person teams compe ng and ended in a winner being declared by way of pu off. The year old ight also played 18 holes and had a strong eld of 9 teams. The compe on was s ff in the 9 hole ight for year old players with 2 teams ba ling it out for winner. The biggest eld by far was our 3 hole ight for players 7-10 years old with 17 teams and more smiles, high ves and hugs than ever before in this event. Thank you to all the par cipants for making this the biggest eld the event has ever seen.
