5 Conditions of Entry This event will run under EA/FEI rules. The Organising Committee (OC) reserves the right to change or amend the program at their discretion. All owners and competitors will be personally responsible for damages to any third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. Please ensure the safety of your children whilst in proximity to horses. Conduct of the Organising Committee The Technical Delegate, Ground Jury, Officials, Boneo Park and Equestrian Australia (EA) are responsible for ensuring Horse Welfare guidelines are observed. Additionally the above mentioned groups are responsible for ensuring that EA and Boneo Park Codes of Conduct are adhered to at all times. Entry There will be block entry for Children, Junior, Young Rider and Senior Championships. The Future stars, Mini Prix, Amateur, Ruby & Emerald Series will also be block entry. The block entry for these championships/series will include two qualifying classes and a final class or alternatively the consolation class for those not qualifying for the final. The Ivory, Pearl and Opal series will also be block entry. The block entry for these series will include three qualifying classes and a final class for those who qualify. Scratching / Refunds of Entries All scratchings prior to close of entries will be refunded in full less a $20 administration fee. Once the entries have closed, no refunds will be given unless a veterinary or medical certificate is provided within seven days of the event. If a veterinary or medical certificate is supplied within the given timeframe 50% of entry fees paid will be refunded. All scratchings must be ed to events@boneopark.com.au Refunds of Stables/yards/campsites More than three days from the event, stable, yard and camping fees will be refunded in full less a $20 administration fee. Within three days of the event, refunds, less the $20 administration fee, will be given if the stable/yard/camp site can be filled. No stable refund will occur once the event has started. For biosecurity, you must clear any stabling changes with the Event Secretary. Starts per horse Horses may only start in a maximum of two classes per day. Riders and Owners All riders and owners must be current financial members of EA with no exception. All horses and ponies must hold current EA registration with the exception of those competing in the Ivory, Pearl and Opal series. EA age rules (a) Junior Riders are considered Juniors, from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 12 until the calendar year in which they turn 18. (b) Young Rider Riders are considered Young riders from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 16 until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 21. (c) Senior Rider Riders are considered Senior riders from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 18. (d) Children Riders are considered children up until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 14 years old. (e) Open height classes - Riders may take part in open competitions 1.20m and above from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 12. (f) Pony series Riders may compete in the pony series until the end of the calendar year they turn 18. Dress Code Riders in all competition rings must be in correct dress unless otherwise instructed by the judge. It is compulsory for athletes to wear a properly fastened safety approved helmet at all times whilst mounted. The only exception to this is senior athletes may remove their helmet at the presentation in the competition arena only. Presentations Presentations will be mounted, and riders must wear their correct attire. Riders who are not available for presentations or who do not fulfill any media commitments that may be required by the OC, may forfeit all prize money. Winners of classes may be required to participate in photo and media obligations. All competitors are required to stay at Boneo Park until the completion of the final presentations. Stallions The Organising Committee follows the EA Stallion Code of Conduct. Dogs Dogs must be kept on a leash and under effective control at all times. Dogs are not permitted in warm up or competition areas. Boneo Park reserve the right to change or amend the program at their discretion.

Nomination Conditions for Championship Titles Please note new rules, adopted by EA, for 2018 How many starts A rider may not ride more than three horses (if entries permit) in any one championship division. In the case of excessive entries, the OC reserve the right to restrict a rider to two starts. Competitors, whose age allows them, may compete in two consecutive divisions, i.e. Junior and Young Rider or Young Rider and Senior. However, they must compete on different horses The following rules are to be used for all Championship divisions and Teams Competitions The Championship comprises Three Competitions, two Qualifying Competitions and a Final Competition, each taking place on a different day. For the Senior Australian Championship there must be a break of one day between the Second and Third Competitions. It is recommended that for the other Championships, that where possible, there is a break of one day between the Second and Third Competitions The obstacle dimensions and speed of the competitions are to be advised in the Championship schedule. The maximum heights for the competitions are: Division First Qualifier Second Final Qualifier Children Max 1m Max 1m Max 1m Junior 1.20m-1.25m 1.20m-1.25m m Young 1.30m-1.35m 1.30m-1.40m 1.35m-1.45m Rider Senior 1.40m-1.45m 1.50m-1.60m 1.50m-1.60m Allocation of Points for the two Qualifying Competitions The winner of each Competition gets one point more than the number of starters in the First Qualifying Competition. The second placed gets two points less than the winner, the third placed three points less than the winner, and so on. Athletes eliminated or retiring: Athletes who have been eliminated or have retired in the initial round of the first two Competitions do not get points. Equality of points among Athletes: Points won by Athletes who are tied are added up and divided equally. Fractions of 0.5 and more are rounded up; fractions of less than 0.5 are rounded down. Transformation of points to penalties After the Second Qualifying Competition points are transformed into penalties. The Athlete with the highest number of points after the two Competitions will have 0 penalties. For all other Athletes the number of penalties will be calculated by multiplying with the coefficient of 0.50 the difference between their number of points and the points of the leading Athlete after the two Competitions. In this procedure all decimals are rounded down. ification The overall Champion will be the Athlete with the lowest number of penalties after the three Competitions. An Athlete who qualifies for Round B of the third and Final Competition but who does not start in that Competition will be ranked after Athletes who started in both Round A and Round B of the Final Competition. If Athletes are tied for first place after the three Competitions, there will be a jump-off against the clock over a reduced course of at least six obstacles. In case of equality of penalties and time in this jump-off a second jump-off, against the clock, will be held over the same course. Athletes not in the jump-off but tying on penalties will be separated for the purpose of the Final overall classification by their time in the second round of the Third Competition.
7 Starting order for Second Qualifying Competition and Final In the Second Qualifying Competition, the starting order is according to the reverse order of points allocated after the First Qualifying Competition. The starting order in Rounds A and B of the Third Competition is, respectively, according to the reverse order of penalties (i.e. points transformed into penalties) after the second Qualifying Competition, and after Round A of the Third Competition. Athletes with equality of points (after the first Qualifying Competition) or penalties (after the second Qualifying Competition or after Round A of the Third Competition) will retain the same starting order among themselves as in the previous Competition or round, whichever is applicable The design and construction of all obstacles with regard to safety and technical suitability must be approved by the Technical Delegate and Course Designer. The minimum diameter of poles used in all Championship Competitions must be at least 9 cm. Should a dispute arise relating to these obstacles, the Technical Delegate has the final decision The water jump must be used two times in the Senior Championship. It is compulsory in the first round of the team Competition. Water to be used with rail placed above the water for the First Qualifying Competition. The Course Designer will, at his discretion, decide in which other Competitions the water jump will be used. First Qualifying Competition The First Qualifying Competition constitutes Part 1 of the Teams Competition This First Qualifying Competition is conducted over a big Table A course and judged under Table C (JRs Art. 239 and 263) without a jump-off in the event of equality for first place. Obstacles Twelve to 14 obstacles, including one double and one treble or two or three doubles. For seniors a water Jump, with rails above the water, 3.6 metres maximum, including the take-off element. At the discretion of the course designer a water jump, with rails above the water, may be included for Juniors and Young Riders. Height As per the table in with the spread in proportion to the height. Length: 500 m minimum, 600 m maximum. Starting order The starting order for the first Competition is a random draw. Second Qualifying Competition The Second Qualifier constitutes Part 2 of the Teams Competition Conduct, Table, Speed This Second Qualifying Competition is conducted over one round run under Table A against the clock at a speed of 375 m per minute with one jump-off. (JRs Article 238 ) Athletes and Horses which are tied for first place will jump off against the clock. At the discretion of the Technical Delegate, depending on the size of the arena, the speed may be reduced to 350 m per minute. Obstacles Twelve to 14 obstacles, including one double and one treble or two or three doubles. Height As per the table in , with the spread in proportion to the height. A maximum of two spread obstacles with a width of one metre or less may be used. At least two vertical obstacles must be maximum in height. Sloping walls do not count as compulsory vertical obstacles. Water jump (compulsory in the first round): 3.3 metres (not including the take-off element giving total of 3.8 m maximum). Length: 500 m minimum, 700 m maximum. Starting order for Second Qualifying Competition In the Second Qualifying Competition, the starting order is according to the reverse order of points allocated after the First Qualifying Competition. See above Only the Athletes and Horses, which have taken part in the first Competition, may take part in the Second Qualifying Competition Third and Final Competition The 20 best placed Athletes qualify for the first round (A) of the Third and Final Competition. Athlete on the same penalties for the twentieth position will all be eligible to start in the Round A of the Final. If there are less than 20 athletes who have elected to start in Round A of the Final they will be replaced by the next best placed athlete. A maximum of five athletes may be replaced.
8 Conduct, Table, Speed The Third and Final Competition is conducted over two rounds (A) and (B) each judged under Table A with a jump off if required. With a time allowed at a speed of 375 m per minute. To be specified in the Schedule: 15 Athletes return for the second round. At the discretion of the Technical Delegate, depending on the size of the arena, the speed may be reduced to 350 m per minute. Round A Obstacles, Round A Ten to 12 obstacles, including one double and one treble or three doubles. Height: As per the table in , with the spread in proportion to the height. At least two vertical obstacles, which must be at maximum height. Water Jump, if used (see Art ): maximum of four metres (including the take-off element, giving a total of 4.00 m maximum). Length: 500 m minimum, 600 m maximum. Starting Order: The starting order in Round A of the Third and Final Competition is according to the reverse order of penalties (i.e. points transformed into penalties) after the Second Qualifying Competition. Round B A different course from Round A comprising eight to ten obstacles including only one combination (one double or one treble). Height As per the table in , with the spread in proportion to the height. At least two vertical obstacles, which must be at maximum height A water jump may not be included, but an obstacle with water beneath, in front or behind (a so called Liverpool ) may be included in the course. Length: 400 m minimum, 500 m maximum. Participation At the completion of Round A of the Third and Final Competition the 15 best placed athletes qualify for the second round, Round (B) of the Final. Athletes on the same penalties for the fifteenth position will all be eligible to start in Round B of the final. If there are less than 15 athletes who have elected to start in round B of the Final they will be replaced by the next best placed athlete. A maximum of five athletes may be replaced. The starting order in Round B of the Third and Final Competition is, according to the reverse order of penalties (i.e. points transformed into penalties) after the Second Qualifying Competition, and after Round A of the Third and Final Competition. Inspection of Course B Athletes may be invited to inspect the course for Round B at the conclusion of Round A. Eligibility for the first round of the Third Final competition The top 30 Juniors, top 25 Young Riders and top 20 Seniors qualified after the previous two competitions will be invited to start in the third final competition. All participants in the Children s title will progress to the final. Riders who are eligible for the Final Competition may not compete in the Consolation class. Determination of the Australian Champion The overall winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties after the Three Final competitions. If competitors are tied for first place after the three final competitions, there will be a jump-off against the clock over a reduced course of at least six obstacles. In case of equality of penalties and time in this jump-off a second jump-off, against the clock, will be held over the same course. Horse Inspection/Trot up The trot up will be held on the Wednesday afternoon for all Young Rider and Senior Championship horses. Smart casual dress of the handler is required. Young Rider horses will be trot up between 1 pm and 2.30 pm and Senior horses between 2.30 pm and 4 pm. Young Rider and Senior Championship horses will be required to be on the grounds at Boneo Park by 1pm on the Wednesday. After the horse inspection and trot up both Young Rider and Senior horses may not leave the grounds for the duration of the event. Any horse in breach of this condition will be eliminated.
9 1a. Teams nomination conditions Team nominations must include full names of riders, full name of horses, draw order and Team Manager s details. The cost is $200 per team. Entry forms will be sent to state offices. Riders may only compete in one team for each age division. The starting order of the Teams is determined by a draw in the presence of the judge and the Team managers at a time yet to be fixed. A team constitutes three or four riders. A maximum of one team member may be from another state or nation only if the state has insufficient rider numbers available. The 3rd team position can be filled by a substitute rider. The team s competition will be conducted in conjunction with the first and second qualifying competition for the National Title Championship. At the conclusion of the second round, the best three scores from each round are added together to determine the team score. In the event of a tie for first or any subsequent places, the time taken in the second round for the three scores used will be added together and the team with the fastest time will be placed in front of Teams with equal penalties. There will be no jump-off against the clock. Eliminated horses may compete in the second round. If two or more athletes of a team, participating with four athletes in the first or second round, are eliminated or retire, the whole team is eliminated. If one athlete of a team, participating with three athletes in the first or second round, is eliminated or retires, the whole team is eliminated. Team riders who have not qualified for the second round of the second competition of the Australian Championships will jump in the second round before all those athletes who have qualified for the second round of the competition. If the fourth rider of a team cannot better their team s score they do not have to start in the second round. 2. Ruby Series nomination conditions The Ruby Series is for horses with 40 points and under at the close of entries. Each horse s points will be checked with the national database and incorrectly entered horses will be removed from the class without refund. Ruby Series will start at 1.25m for the first round and will progress upwards over the following days. Competitors in the Ruby Series may only nominate for one series but may compete in any other classes that they meet the criteria for. All horses must meet the points criteria at the time of entries closing. Horses that exceed the stipulated points during the series will be eligible for series qualifiers and finals. Points will be allocated for the Ruby qualifier 1 and 2. The Leaderboard from qualifier 1 and 2 will determine the top 50% of entrants who will be eligible for the final. Placings in the final will determine the overall Ruby Series. The remaining 50% of the field are eligible to participate in the Ruby Consolation.
10 3. Emerald Series nomination condition The Emerald Series is for horses with 16 points and under at the close of entries. Each horse s points will be checked with the national database and incorrectly entered horses will be removed from the class without refund. The Emerald Series will start at 1.10m for the first round and will progress upwards over the following days. Competitors in the Emerald Series may only nominate for one series but may compete in any other classes that they meet the criteria for. All horses must meet the points criteria at the time of entries closing. Horses that exceed the stipulated points during the series will be eligible for series qualifiers and finals. Points will be allocated for the Emerald Qualifier 1 and 2. The Leaderboard of qualifier 1 & 2 will determine the top 50% of entrants who will be eligible for the final. Placings in the final will determine the overall Emerald Series. The remaining 50% of the field are eligible to participate in the Emerald Consolation. 4. Amateur Series nomination conditions All Amateur riders must be a current EA members. Riders may compete as amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 21 years of age. The course shall be free-flowing and relatively simple. The first fence in the first round shall be 110cm and the remainder of the course 110cm - 120cm maximum height. There will be a maximum height rise of 10cm for the jump off. To compete as an Amateur rider, the following conditions must be met: Never competed in an Olympic Games or World Equestrian Games in either Jumping or Eventing In the past 10 years must not have competed in a jumping World Cup qualifying round In the past two years must not have competed in section 1 and 2 at a Royal Show in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth Must never have competed in a 4* 3 Day Event Amateur riders may not compete in an Amateur if they compete in a class higher than 1.20m at that show Amateur riders may not compete in an Amateur on a horse that will compete in any class higher than 1.20m at that show Amateur series entrants may only nominate for one series but may compete in any other classes they meet the criteria for. 5. Future Stars nomination conditions Future Stars consists of round 1, round 2 and a final. Future Stars is for Horses with 50 points or less and aged 6, 7, 8, or 9 years old at the time of the competition. Horses nominated in any Australian Jumping Championship (Children, Junior, Young Rider and Senior) are not eligible to enter The Future Stars. Horses may enter both the Future Stars and the Mini Prix if they are eligible. 6. Mini Prix nomination conditions Mini Prix Title consists of round 1, round 2 and a final. Horses nominated in any Australian Jumping Championship (Children, Junior, Young Rider and Senior) are not eligible to enter the Mini Prix. Horses may enter both the Future Stars and the Mini Prix if they are eligible.
11 7. Ivory Series nomination conditions 7a. Pony section (open to riders under 18) The Ivory Series pony section is open to ponies who must not exceed 149 cm with shoes or 148 cm without shoes. A rider is eligible to compete in this class until the calendar year in which they turn 18. Please note that a current height certificate must be produced on request. 7b. Open section The Ivory Series open section is open to all horses and ponies. Both sections: Combinations may compete in either 7a or 7b, but not both. The maximum height of the three qualifying rounds is 80cm. The maximum height of the final is 85cm. Points will be allocated for the Opal series over the three qualifying rounds. The Leaderboard after round three will determine the top 50% of entrants who will be eligible for the final. Placings in the final will determine the overall Ivory Series. Horses may compete in a maximum of two of the Opal, Pearl or Ivory Series 8. Pearl Series nomination conditions 8a. Pony section (open to riders under 18) The Pearl Series pony section is open to ponies who must not exceed 149 cm with shoes or 148 cm without shoes. A rider is eligible to compete in this class until the calendar year in which they turn 18. Please note that a current height certificate must be produced on request. 8b. Open section The Pearl Series open section is open to all horses and ponies. Both sections: Combinations may compete in either 8a or 8b, but not both. The maximum height of the three qualifying rounds is 90cm. The maximum height of the final is 95cm. Points will be allocated for the Pearl series over the three qualifying rounds. The Leaderboard after round three will determine the top 50% of entrants who will be eligible for the final. Placings in the final will determine the overall Pearl Series. Horses may compete in a maximum of two of the Opal, Pearl or Ivory Series
12 9. Opal Series nomination conditions 9a. Pony section (open to riders under 18) The Opal Series pony section is open to ponies who must not exceed 149 cm with shoes or 148 cm without shoes. A rider is eligible to compete in this class until the calendar year in which they turn 18. Please note that a current height certificate must be produced on request. 9b. Open section The Opal Series open section is open to all horses and ponies. Both sections: Combinations may compete in either 9a or 9b, but not both. The maximum height of the three qualifying rounds is 100cm. The maximum height of the final is 104cm. Points will be allocated for the Opal series over the three qualifying rounds. The Leaderboard after round three will determine the top 50% of entrants who will be eligible for the final. Placings in the final will determine the overall Opal Series. Horses may compete in a maximum of two of the Opal, Pearl or Ivory Series Objections and Appeals Protests and Appeals: Objections must be in writing and accompanied by a fee of $ Welfare of the Horse and Code of Conduct In all equestrian sports the horse must be considered paramount. The well being of the horse shall be taken above the demands of the breeders, trainers, riders, owners, dealers, organisers, sponsors or officials. All handling and veterinary treatment must ensure the health and welfare of the horse. The highest standards of nutrition, health, sanitation and safety shall be encouraged and maintained at all times. Adequate provision must be made for ventilation, feeding, watering and maintaining a healthy environment during transportation. Emphasis should be placed on increasing education in training and equestrian practices and on promoting scientific studies in equine health. In the interests of the horse, the fitness and competence of the rider shall be regarded as essential. All riding and training methods must take account of the horse as a living entity and must not include any technique considered by the FEI/EA to be abusive. National Federations should establish adequate controls in order that all persons and bodies under their jurisdiction respect the welfare of the horse. The national and international Rules and Regulations in equestrian sport regarding the health and welfare of the horse must be adhered to not only during the national and international events, but also in the training. Competition Rules and Regulations shall be continually reviewed to ensure such welfare. Disclaimer of Liability Riders and/or owners whose entries have been accepted, undertake to indemnify the Committee against all claims, losses, suits, and damages made against or suffered by the Committee by reason of any negligent act or omission on the part of any riders, trainers or attendants whilst they are attending, riding or otherwise handling a horse, and agree that any act or omission on the part of such riders or attendants found in any action against the Committee to be negligent, shall be deemed to have been negligent for the purpose of any claim under this indemnity. Neither Equestrian Victoria, Equestrian Australia, Boneo Park, nor the Organising Committee or their appointed officials accept any liability for any accident, theft or illness to horses, riders, grooms or any person or property whatsoever.
13 Camping and Catering Camping facilities: These are available on the grounds at a cost of $30 per night for a powered site or $20 per night for an unpowered site. There are very good shower and toilet facilities with hot and cold water for males and females.
