3 Around Town Holmen Police Department's 2018 National Night Out Tuesday August 7 th 5-8 pm (followed by Movie in the Park) Halfway Creek Park, 300 Roberts St. Holmen, WI National Night out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Join the Holmen Police Dept. for the 2018 National Night Out. There will be 3 fun inflatables for the kids to play on and prizes 3

Main Street August 1: 6:30-8:00 Halfway Creek Lutheran Church, W6016 County Road W: WWI: Buried History. Halfway Creek Cemetery is the final resting place of several WWI veterans and their families. On the 100 th anniversary of WWI, we will collaborate with Holmen High School s FFA to remember those who served with a cemetery tour and re-enactments. The event will begin with an honor guard and close with the traditional playing of Taps. Sept 5: Star Wars Collection and the Collecting Mentality, Jarrod Roll, Director of the Monroe County Local History room, will, through his own Star Wars Collection, examine the who, how, and what of collecting in general. Oct. 3: The Printer s Craft, History and Demonstration. Robert and Carol Mullen will talk about the historic process of letter press printing as practiced in our area, past and present. 6
