Stewards spoke with the handler regarding the situation and subsequently endorsed the racing papers of the greyhound as being Hard To Box under GAR 52(2). FIRING PIN [4] was slowest to begin. JASMICRAY [6] checked DAD S MEMORY [3] soon after the start, hampering ON GUARD [5], with ON GUARD [5] losing ground. SENOR MARINA [1] checked ROSES FOR TAMMY [2] approaching the first turn. SENOR MARINA [1], DAD S MEMORY [3] and JASMICRAY [6] came together in the first turn, causing DAD S MEMORY [3] and JASMICRAY [6] to lose ground. ON GUARD [5] raced wide turning into the home straight. Post-race veterinary examination of ON GUARD [5] revealed no apparent injury. Stewards acknowledged ON GUARD [5] as being the favourite and finishing at the tail of the field. After considering incidents in the event, stewards took no further action.
