Stewards whilst of the opinion that the track was safe for racing today, have posted the track condition as soft, with winning times expected to be marginally negatively impacted as a consequence. The penetrometer readings taken pre meeting were very consistent throughout the track, however the top 40mm to 50mm layer of the track surface was soft, brought about by light over night and morning rain.

TEEVEE ROSCOE( 4 ) was checked off the heels of FOR NO ONE( 7 ) approaching the turn into the back straight, racing wide checking DOUBLE HOPE( 8 ), both losing ground. SENOR IZMIR( 3 ) checked TREEMAN SHELBY( 2 ) at the first turn, with TREEMAN SHELBY( 2 ) losing ground. NINJA THOMMO( 4 ) raced wide approaching the turn into the back straight checking BLANCHETT( 6 ), and PRINCE RAKEEM( 8 ), causing BLANCHETT( 6 ) to lose ground. BIG GEE TEE( 5 ) raced wide in the back straight. DAS TANGA( 7 ), and PRINCE RAKEEM( 8 ) came together at the turn out of the back straight, both losing ground hampering BLANCHETT( 6 ). TASK FORCE( 1 ) was checked off the heels of GO GETTER( 9 ) at the first turn, causing TASK FORCE( 1 ) to lose ground and race wide checking LACES OUT( 6 ), STAGECOACH MARY( 7 ), and LOCKY PALUZA( 8 ). From this incident all four runners lost ground. TASK FORCE( 1 ) continued to race wide running through the catching pen checking LOCKY PALUZA( 8 ). 10 RACE 8 AWESOME PROJECT GARDENS TO WENTY HEAT 3 5 TH GRADE 515M WINNER CHIMBU PARK( 2 ) WE KNOW WHO( 6 ) was slow to begin. SPANISH ANGLE( 3 ), ME GINGER( 4 ), and TWENTY SIX( 5 ) came together soon after the start, with ME GINGER( 4 ) losing ground. TWENTY SIX( 5 ) raced wide at the first turn hampering FREDDY S BACK( 8 ), both losing ground. In two separate incidents running through the catching pen, SPANISH ANGLE( 3 ) raced wide checking WE KNOW WHO( 6 ), and BARB S BLOSS( 7 ) also raced wide colliding with TWENTY SIX( 5 ), and FREDDY S BACK( 8 ). From the latter incident, all three runners lost considerable ground, TWENTY SIX( 5 ), and FREDDY S BACK( 8 ) worst affected, almost impacting with the catching pen gate. Shortly after, TWENTY SIX( 5 ), lost further ground, commencing to tail out. TWENTY SIX( 5 ) was vetted and was found to have injured the off side hip support. 10 Days Certificate issued. The winner of this event CHIMBU PARK( 2 ) was locked away for a Urine Sample to be obtained at the Direction of Stewards. Stewards spoke to the trainer of BARB S BLOSS( 7 ) regarding his greyhounds actions through the catching pen. Stewards in affording BARB S BLOSS( 7 ) the grave benefit of the doubt with regards to marring, informed trainer W Kelly that the greyhounds future performances will be closely monitored. BLIXT( 3 ), PROUD RACER( 4 ), and WHITE MAGIC OPAL( 6 ), were all slow to begin. BLIXT( 3 ) checked VEE TERIV( 1 ) in the back straight, with VEE TERIV( 1 ) losing ground. VEE TERIV( 1 ), PROUD RACER( 4 ), and MAGIC ON TAP( 7 ) came together approaching the turn out of the back straight, causing VEE TERIV( 1 ) to lose further ground, impacting with the running rail shortly after. MAGIC ON TAP( 7 ) was checked off the heels of BLIXT( 3 ) in the home straight. VEE TERIV( 1 ) was vetted and was found to be injured in the off side hip. 10 Days Certificate issued. Stewards in not taking any further action viewed the replays of the greyhounds past 2 performances at the track, when drifting wide at the home turn on both occasion, particularly on 14 April, off the same box as tonight.
