4 GRAHAMSTOWN RIDING CLUB VALENTINES SHOW Held under the auspices of Showing Association of South Africa SHOWING: SATURDAY 11 TH AND SUNDAY 12 TH FEBRUARY 2017 All competitors (riders, owners and horses) in GRADED classes have to be registered with a SAEF Club in their Province, SAEF and SASA. Registration can be done on the SASA website or contact admin@showingsa.co.za. The SASA EDTS scheme: SASA will pay entry fees for SASA EDTS competitors in all classes. That includes In Hand and Under Saddle classes. The competitor must be an EDTS member of SASA. Membership is free. EDTS application forms, rules and conditions are available at or from admin@showingsa.co.za. Separate champs will be held for the Novice and Open classes, and these will be divided into Show Horse/Pony, Working Riding Horse/Pony and Working Hunter Horse/Pony Championships. All Novice and Open Pony and Horse Champions are eligible for their respective Supreme Championships. 7 GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. We regret that no horse may enter the show without a horse flu vaccination and AHS vaccination, Please complete details on entry form. See SAEF Rule Appendix VR/9.7.1 (i.e. Horses MUST be inoculated by a VETERINARIAN within a period of 12 months of the date of the previous inoculation for AHS and 6 months from the date of the previous flu vaccination - otherwise the inoculation will be deemed to have expired.) Batch and date details MUST be on entry form. Forms MUST BE SIGNED. VERY IMPORTANT: Passports must be available at show please present to Show Secretary on arrival. Horses without correct vaccinations will be required to leave immediately. 2. NO cheques will be accepted 3. NO refunds will be made in respect of cancellations and scratchings after closing date of entries. 4. Programme will be posted at GRC two days before commencement of show. 5. Please Note the Organizing Committee reserves the right to combine, vary, divide or cancel classes if insufficient entries are received. Should the status of a show change due to unforeseen circumstances, entries will not be refunded. 6. Insofar as possible the programme and conditions relating thereto will be adhered to. However the Organizing Committee reserves the right to make alterations in the event of unfavourable weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances and should the show be cancelled or postponed for any reason only entry fees will be refunded 7. SAEF, SASJ,SASA or the GRC, the organizers and any officials appointed by these shall in no way be held responsible for any damage, loss, injury sustained by owners, competitors, members of the public or any other person or persons or their property at the Grahamstown Riding Club for the duration of show. 8. Competitors levy includes Medic levy & Ground levy per horse for all competitors. Competitors not members of GRC pay an additional R150 temporary membership. 9. By entering a stallion at GRC, the competitor & owner agree to the following conditions & agree to abide by the following protocol 10. Competition stallions remain the responsibility of the owner & rider at all times & they are expected to have public liability against any loss, injury or damage that might be caused by the stallion 11. It is the responsibility of the owner & rider to ensure that the stallion cannot exit the stable allocated to it on its own/or with the help of another horse or uninformed person. 12. The stallion may only be removed from the stable during the show for exercise & preparation/competition & only in the presence of a responsible handler or rider 13. Under NO circumstances shall the covering of mares be allowed to take place at the GRC premises. 14. Jumping Rules: Welcome Stakes FEI Art , A2 Speed FEI Art , Championships FEI , 15. Dressage riders not presenting themselves to the judge within 5 minutes of their riding time will forfeit their entry in that class. 16. The Grahamstown Riding Club reserves the right to implement any rules/regulations it deems necessary or on the advice of a veterinarian (State or private) to control the spread of any disease, and all competitors shall be obliged to adhere to such rules/regulations at all times. 17. PLEASE NOTE: THE GRADED ARENAS AT THE CLUB ARE CLOSED FROM THE CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES, THIS EXCLUDES THE WARM-UP ARENAS. 19. The show holding body of the GRC reserves the right to limit entries, depending on the total number of entries received per class. 20. Temporary membership for non SASA members and their horses is available at this show at a cost of R Temporary members do not earn any grading points, nor Victor Ludorum or Rider Ranking points.
