CONDITIONS The Committee reserve the right to cancel the show if for any reason they think fit to do so, in which case entry fees will be refunded. Printed entry forms must be used for all entries. All stock exhibited for prizes must be bona fide property of the Exhibitor at the time of making the entry, and at the time of showing. CHAMPIONSHIPS AND SPECIALS. These can only be competed for by 1st and 2nd Prize winners in the various classes. The stock shown is to remain on the Ground until after the Grand Parade. Objections to any award of Prizes must be made in writing to the Secretary before 4pm on the Show Day, accompanied by a deposit of which will be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. All animals must be exhibited in the ring when required. Riding Hats Protective headgear manufactured to BS EN1384, ASTM F 1163 or PAS 015 with a Kite Mark or SEI Quality Assurance Mark must be worn at all times while riding on the Showground, with the chinstrap correctly and securely fastened at all times. Anyone not doing so does so at their own risk. No hat cameras are to be worn. Hunters and Ponies not entering the ring within two minutes of their class being called may be disqualified at the discretion of the Head Steward. Any animal causing a disturbance may be disqualified at the discretion of the Head Steward. All dogs must be kept on leads. The Association and the Executive Committee are committed to ensuring high standards of health, safety and welfare for all those who may be affected by their operations and activities. These standards will be achieved through effective health, safety and welfare management. In discharging these responsibilities, we seek your cooperation. The Judges, named at each class heading, have consented and have been appointed to act as judges in the classes indicated. The Committee reserves the right to appoint substitutes for any who may be unavoidably prevented from attending and all entries are accepted upon that understanding. LIABILITY It shall be a condition of entry and it is hereby agreed that this Association shall not under any circumstances whatsoever be responsible for any loss or damage to any property of whatsoever kind sort or nature or for any personal injury (fatal or otherwise) howsoever caused and every exhibitor and/or competitor shall hold this Association not liable for any such loss or damage or personal injury and shall indemnify this Association against all actions, claims, demands and liability arising therefrom.

4 2 SCHEDULE OF PRIZES Long Service Class 1 To the Employee in husbandry who has worked continuously or served the longest time either as weekly or yearly servant on the same farm or with the same employer and has during that time been distinguished for sobriety and regularity of conduct, a prize of 50. In addition to the prize money the winner will receive a certificate and an inscribed Tankard. The Tankard is presented by the HFAA in memory of the late Major L H Corke. 5 3 SUFFOLK HORSES Heavy Horse Ring Judge: Mr S Gowing, Fordham Heath, Essex. This show is a qualifier for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. The horse that qualifies will be eligible for the final competition, to be held at the Suffolk Spectacular in the autumn of This show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes 4 17 are qualifiers for championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion license number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where a licence is pending but not yet issued. PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP known as the GE Colson Memorial Cup. 14 Suffolk Horse in Harness without a vehicle (Special) The National Horse Brass Society will award a special Brass to the Best Decorated Harness in the Harness class. 16 Young Handler open to all handlers between the age of 13 & Classes will be judged on handler s ability only. BSPA classes are open to Skewbald and Piebald Horses and Ponies only. Open to Members & Non Members. Classes 18 & 19 are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the World Championships of Colour National Championship Show to be held at the College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe, Bedfordshire on 10 th September All classes will be judged within the rules and criteria of the BSPA. Copies of the rulebook and membership/horse registration/overstamping forms can be obtained from show office or downloaded from All stallions 4 years and over must be graded, licensed and registered with BSPA in order to compete and must carry into the ring their red BSPA Showing ID card + BSPA bridle discs must be worn. In order to qualify all owners/handlers/riders must be members of the BSPA and all horses/ponies registered with BSPA prior to the show. BSPA qualification cards must be produced in the ring and be signed by the judge, otherwise qualification is invalid. 7 EQUIFEST The two highest placed exhibits in Classes 26 & 27 not already qualified will qualify for the Equifest Ridden Hunters Championship to be held at the East of England Showground on 17 th 21 st August Best Ladies Hunter, Mare or Gelding, to be ridden by a lady, either side saddle or astride. PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP presented by the late N E Dixon Esq. A Special rosette will be presented to the best horse ridden in a side saddle. NB Any competitor riding sidesaddle is also required to provide an astride saddle 29a Hunter owned by a Subscriber or Associate Subscriber to the Essex & Suffolk Hunt, hunted regularly with them and ridden by the Owner or a member of his/her staff or family. PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP known as the late Mrs S Gales Memorial Cup. The Kevin Mowles Memorial Tankard will be awarded to the Best Turned Out in Class 29a and a Special Rosette to the highest placed Owner Rider 5 29b East Anglian Bloodhounds Hunt Class Open to horses that have been fairly hunted with The EABH in the previous season. To be owned and/or ridden by a bona fide member of the EABH Supporters Club who have also hunted regularly with the EABH. THE MAJOR CHALLENGE PERPETUAL TROPHY to the winner. The Grimsey Perpetual Tankard to the Best Turned Out. 30 (Special) Championship for The Best Hunter in the Show (to be ridden). PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP presented by the late Major Gen F W Ramsey CB, CMG, DSO. All First and Second Prize winners in classes must compete in Class 30 otherwise their prizes will be withheld. Classes 31 and 32 are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead, Tuesday 26 th July Classes will be judged under BSPA rules downloaded from All horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and riders must be BSPA members prior to the show. Rider age taken from 1 st January. Membership & qualification cards must be carried in the ring by competitors and produced as required for inspection or signature. Failure to do so will mean disqualification. Spurs may not be worn in any pony class. Ponies 153cms or under (Shetlands exempt) must possess a current JMB height certificate. All stallions must be graded with BSPA and in possession of a BSPA stallion ID card which must be carried at all times and produced on request. All stallions must wear a 2016 Blue BSPA stallion disc. No rider under 15 may exhibit a stallion in any class. No competitor/owner/horse may compete in these classes or enter the ring without current 2016 membership of BSPA and a RIHS qualification card. Qualification: 1 st place and the next unqualified competitor standing 2 nd or 3 rd qualify from each class. No competitor may qualify from lower than 3 rd place. Skewbald and Piebald horses/ponies only. Highest placed amateur and highest placed junior in each class qualify for the Amateur and Junior Supreme Championship finals to be held at BSPA World of Colour Championships on 10 th September 2016, College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe, Bedfordshire. All 1 st and 2nd prizewinners from Classes 18, 19, 34 and 35 qualify for this class. RIHS Qualifying classes Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and all Owners, Exhibitors and Riders must be Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form. Classes 34 and 35 are qualifiers for The Royal International Horse Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward. The three highest placed prize winners in all Open affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show September The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section. The Association will award a new Amateur Home Produced rosette in all Affiliated Open classes; the Cob rosettes have been kindly sponsored by TSG. The awards will go down the line; there is no limit on how many of these rosettes can be claimed in a year. Entry fees for Classes 34 and 35 will be subject to a RIHS entry levy of 9.00 and competitors are asked to add this to the standard entry fee.
