3 Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS HORSES AND OTHER EQUINES Premises Registration As from 1 May 2012, any premises (which includes shows, fairs and markets) where horses or other equines are gathered must be registered with the Department. Owners/persons in charge of such gatherings are required to submit a completed application form for registration and to keep records of movements on/off their premises. Records must be retained for at least 3 years as they may be required by the Department for the purposes of tracing disease. Records required are :The name and address of the owner/person in charge of the premises from which the equine came. :Premises registration number from which the equine came :Passport number/uel number of the animal It is important therefore that Show organisers should contact their local District Veterinary Office in advance so that consideration can be given to compliance with the requirements outlined above. Any further information on the requirements for moving horses and equines to shows will be provided on the Department s website at animalidentificationmovement Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine

OPEN SHOW HUNTER PONY LEAD REIN For ponies mares or geldings, 4yr old and over, not exceeding123cms, suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 10 th birthday on 1 st January The same combination of pony and rider may not compete in any class for ponies exceeding 123cms at the same show on the same day. OPEN MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND LEAD REIN For mares or geldings, 4yr old and over, not exceeding123cms.riders to not have attained their 9 th birthday on the1 st January 2015.Riders in this class

5 may not compete in any other class at the same show on same day exception any other Lead Rein or 1 st Ridden Class. CLASS 8 CLASS 9 MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND RIDDEN CLASS For mare, geldings and stallions 4yr old and over. Mixed Height. JUNIOR SIDE-SADDLE: Mare or gelding, 5 years old or over, not exceeding 153cms. To be ridden by riders who have attained their 8th birthday but who have not attained their 18th birthday by 1 January Qualifier for the RDS Horse Show th 9 th August2015.First, second and third placed combinations from each class would be eligible to compete at the Dublin Horse Show. Please note that the qualifying classes must have at least ten competitors in order to be deemed a qualifier. Entry fee to Qualifier 15. IN HAND, YOUNG STOCK AND LEAD-REIN CLASSES RING 2 STARTING 11AM Prize money for all classes 1 st Prize 30; 2 nd Prize 20; 3 rd Prize 15. This championship is confined to Registered Connemara. Two year Old Fillies 2. The progeny of Registered Connemara Sire & Registered Connemara Dam. 3. Exhibitors in both the Qualifier and the Final must have the CPBS Passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.

6 4. More than one Filly may be selected at any qualifying Show to compete in the Final providing the judges & the ISA agree the standard of entries warrant such selection. 5. One of the Judges at the final must be from CPBS judges list. 6. Ponies qualified for Final are not eligible to enter any other class at Ballinasloe Show 7. Plaiting of Manes & Tails are not allowed for Qualifier or the final. Westmeath. 1 st place will have 1 st choice of nomination, 2 nd place 2 nd nomination and 3 rd NB Pony that wins the nomination must be the pony to use it. SHOW HUNTER PONY BROODMARE Pony Broodmare, 3yr old and over, not exceeding 153cms, likely to produce a child s Hunter Pony. In the case of a Broodmare without a foal at foot, covering cert may be looked for. SHOW HUNTER PONY YOUNGSTOCK For colts, mares or geldings. 1,2 or 3yr olds, not exceeding 150cms, likely to make a child s Hunter pony. LOCAL LEAD REIN CLASS For Riders aged between 4 to 12yrs old. Not to have competed in any other lead rein class the same day with the exception of Best Fancy Dress. Winner of this class is not eligible for In-hand Championship BEST FANCY DRESS Lead Rein Class. To be ridden by a rider aged 4 to 12yrs old. Helmets must be worn. Winner of this class is not eligible for In-hand Championship

Each mare and her foal will be judged as a unit: 60% for the mare and 40% for the foal. Mares and foals must be sired by a stallion that is classified in either the Irish Sport Horse stud book as Approved, Preliminary Approved, Supplementary Approved, Recognised, Preliminary Recognised, Not Approved 1, (NA1) or a Stallion that is classified in the Irish Draught stud book as Class / Class 2 RID (GB)/RID (CAN)/ Grade 2 (GB) The class is also open to Weatherby Registered Animals Progeny of Weatherby s ThoroughbredStallions that are not classified in the Irish Horse Register as Not Approved 2 (NA2) The mare s passport will be inspected before judging commences. Exhibitors failing to produce a passport will be debarred from competing. 13 CLASS 39 CLASS 40 IDHS 2015 National Breed Show presents the Botanica International All Ireland Irish Draught Mare & Foal Championship Prizes: Total Prize Fund of 3,000 to be divided at the Final as follows: 1 st 400; 2 nd 350; 3 rd 300; 4 th 250; 5 th 200; 6 th 150; 7 th 100; 8 th through to end of line 50, plus each Mare shown at the Final will receive a hamper of Botanica International products worth 80. 26 ****Irish Shows Association Notice **** Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Certificate of Compliance Requirements On the day of the Show, the Certificate of Compliance should be presented to the Show Secretary along with the bovine passport for the animal. The keeper and the Show Secretary will then sign the Movement Notification section of the Certificate which will then Must be sent to the local DVO for recording onto the AIM system It is vitally important that all Show Secretaries comply with the above rule & make sure to send back the Certificate of Compliance to your Local DVO Office within Seven Days of your Show taking place as, failure to do so is causing untold problems to exhibitors. ****Irish Shows Association Notice **** After a number of submissions from affiliated Shows on the Judging of Calves & the need to have them judged by weight rather than by age at Shows The Irish Shows Association Cattle Sub Committee have put forward the following recommendation on use of live weight for calf classes e.g. (Calves under 12 months not to exceed 460 kg) (Autumn born calves and Calves under 6 months) it recommends that the weight should not exceed 320kg) Another suggestion is to use no more than 1.7kg live weight gain per day from the birth date to the show date. This proposal would also be suitable for interbreed pedigree calf Championships

27 I MPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ORGANISERS OF SHOW S AND EXHIBITORS OF CATTLE 2015 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS - CATTLE Keepers wishing to show cattle in 2015 must obtain a Certificate of Compliance prior to the movement of the animal to the Show. This ensures that the animal(s) in question has the necessary TB, BR and BVD tests recorded on the Department s database and that the keeper presenting the animal is not restricted by the Department. Certificates of Compliance can be obtained online from the Animal Identification and Movement (AIM) system through the facility or from the Cattle Movement Notification Agency. When applying for a Certificate of Compliance, keepers should not specify a destination herd. On the day of the Show, the Certificate of Compliance should be presented to the Show Secretary along with the bovine passport for the animal. The keeper and the Show Secretary will then sign the Movement Notification section of the Certificate which will then be sent to the local DVO for recording onto the AIM system.
