2 AUCTIONEERS FOREWORD This most genuine sale on behalf of Don Bailey and his family results from their decision to cease dairy farming at Cropper Farm. Having entered his eighties, he now rightly feels it s time to take things a bit steadier! The sale comprises 47 Cows and Heifers In-milk and In-calf and purchasers should note that there is a definite bias towards summer milk with nearly 70% having calved in the last 8 weeks. This is a lovely herd of cows that can only be described as your true Holstein Friesian, displaying good condition and consistent type, with particularly good udders. Breeding policy has always been to use good nominated bulls from Genus which include Moet Melody, Kelstein Dynasty, Woodmarsh Topshot, Burlane Tennyson, Wa- Del Junction, Aintree Northside, Lutz-Brookview Burt, Morningview Legend, Overside Dragon and ABS Topnotch. The herd is cubicle housed and milked via an Abreast Parlour with management based on a relatively low input system of grass silage. Although not milk recorded the average from milk sent is running at OVER 7200kg with the latest bulk sample running at a superb 4.15%F 3.08%P cc151. This is a most genuine herd of cows that need to be viewed to appreciate the quality on offer. Fantastic type with fresh milk in abundance attendance at Leek Dairy Centre is a must on Tuesday 12 th July.

3 GENERAL NOTES Directions to Leek Market From Leek Town Centre take the A520 Cheddleton Road. At the first set of traffic lights turn right into Junction Road. Proceed through the houses and the entrance to the Market lies on the left hand side just before the Pride of the Moorlands Public House. The Market is clearly sign posted on the A53 Newcastle to Leek Road and the A520 Leek to Cheddleton Road. Method of Sale All cattle will be sold in the pound and settlement of all accounts shall be made in full immediately at the close of sale. The herd will be sold under Farm Sale Rules a copy of which can be obtained from the Auctioneers. Refreshments Refreshments will be available from the Leek Market Cafeteria. Cheques/Payment Intending Purchasers not known to the Auctioneers must produce, prior to bidding, an acceptable Banker s Reference. Under new regulations introduced by the Banks, such references are now obtainable by the Bank s customers themselves and have to be obtained by them direct from their Bank. Unless an acceptable Banker s Reference is produced Payment is strictly Cash. Persons unknown to the Auctioneers and who pay by cheque will have their goods impounded until cheques have cleared and the Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse the bid of any potential unknown customer.
