There has been obvious improvement in the performance, skill level and ability of all teams from 2009 which was reflected in the final placements as well as the level of progression and improvement all teams made over the course of the Championships. A special congratulations to our Boy s U15 team and Men s Veterans team for their first appearance at a State Championships and also the U15 Boys for finishing in 3 rd position a fantastic result well done boys! Also to our Ladies Veterans teams who won Division 5 and are the Redlands first ever State Champions a great effort Ladies!! A particular thankyou and acknowledgement to all our Coaches and Managers who gave up time training and organising these teams to go away your contribution, time and effort are greatly appreciated and a key reason for the impressive performance and improvement of all our Rep Teams. Also a big thankyou and congratulations to all our Umpires who attended State Championships this year and gave up your time to officiate and continue to develop your skills in this area. All of you performed very well and will certainly bring back some valuable umpiring skills and knowledge that will only add value to your personal umpiring development as well as the overall umpiring development at Redlands Hockey. The preparation and organisation of these Rep teams would not be possible without some key people. On behalf of all the Rep Teams we extend a huge thankyou and congratulations to our Junior Rep Co-ordinators - Stacey Freeman & Alice Meadows and also our Senior Rep Co-ordinators Louise Carter and Matt Woosnam for organising all our junior and senior Rep teams this year. You all did a fantastic and professional job in arranging all aspects from team registrations, travel, accommodation and uniforms to food and social activities for all participants. Great job in only our second year of attending State Championships and take pride in the way our teams were presented and the value for money that we continue to offer to all our Rep players. Lastly but certainly not least, congratulations to all players for your performance and the way in which you applied yourselves and approached the State Championships in We have already received some very positive feedback about the behaviour and performance of our Redlands teams and you should all be proud of the results achieved, the confidence you have gained as well as the wonderful level of improvement you have all made following the Championships. It is important that you embrace the wonderful experience of participating at a State Championships and continue to apply what you have learnt so that your hockey continues to develop on a weekly basis. Well done to you all you have made us all at Redlands Hockey very proud! 2 Thank you & Well Done Redlands Reppers would like to thank Harvey Norman for allowing Redlands Hockey to host a bbq on the 27/6/10 outside the Cleveland store where the funds raised went to the 2010 Rep Team. Thanks also to Melanie Woosnam, Meadows Family, Andrew Freeman, John Lord, Adri-Anne Watts, Felicity Cuereden, Maddy McCamley, Sue & Gemmanda Day & Helen Hinwood for manning the bbq. $190 was taken for the day. Special thanks to the Lord family who generously donated their Saturday raffle prize of $50 back to the Rep Teams Redlands Representative Teams Welcome back home to all our Redlands Rep Players. What a fabulous two weeks we have just had. Firstly I would like to thank all coaches, managers and umpires, without your dedication and support throughout your week, the kids wouldn t have had such a memorable experience. Now to the kids You did us proud!! CONGRATULTIONS Not only did you all play outstanding hockey, displayed massive improvements, placed well in the finals your representation of the Redlands Hockey was without a doubt unreal. Compliments from other coaches, managers, officials and supporters telling us of what great sportsmanship you all showed. But what a fun week, we all had! Thanks for the memories and good times. 3 Redlands Under 11 Southern Cross & Coulter Shield Carnivals Calling for all interested Under 11 players to attend a representative carnival day at Downey Park on Sunday 1st August. All kids need to register their intent to trial by marking off their name and receiving a red ribbon to wear on Saturday s game. Alison, Newsletter Ed Under 7 Rookeys Thanks to everyone for their great work on the field today EVERYONE worked very hard. A big thank you to Matt and Melanie Woosnam (Pizza Capers ) for their ongoing sponsorship and to Maddy for her help as assistant coach. This week s Encouragement Award went to Dakota Radley for his defence of the goals he worked very hard keeping the yellow team from scoring. Just a reminder to all parents to return the medal each week so we can pass it onto others. Have a great holiday see you on your return Lisa Radley, Manager Under 10 - BLUE HEELERS The Blue Heelers held their own on Saturday despite being down three of its experienced players. Thanks to Charlie MacKinder and Charli Woosnam for filling in. Both played really well and were awarded special Encouragement Awards. One goal was scored by Laura Nicholson. Player of the match went to Kimberly Hodgkinson for her excellent mid fielding and the Encouragement Award to Angus Alexander. Have a safe and relaxing break Blue Heelers. Jodi Alexander, Manager Under 10 ZIPPY ZEBRAS The Zippy Zebras had another great game this week against the blue team. They the blue team were missing a couple of players this week and had two minkies play up to fill the team. Even though the game was a bit one sided our way, everyone was working hard and fun was had by all. This week our team sponsor Mr Rob Watson from Rob Watson Builders came along to our game to meet our team, watch our game and join in for a team photo. I would like to thank Mr Watson on behalf of the Zippy Zebra's for his support this season. Player of the Week this week was given to Sarah Gardner. Many times throughout the game Sarah cleared the ball away from the group in the middle towards our goal. Sophia McQueen was awarded the Encouragement Award. Sophia's confidence grows every week and it shows with how much her skills have improved over the season so far. Natalie Pedersen, Manager

4 Under 12 Gold TIGERS Sinclair Xray This week saw us beating the Red Team in a thriller 1-0 match!!! Despite beating the white team quite convincingly the previous week, the red team were no match for our Yellow Tigers, and we dominated possession for much of the game, even when we were one player down. Player of the match went to Adrian Collins, whilst the encouragement award went to Isaac Nicholson, and both of these guys played out of their skins on Saturday. A special mention goes to Jade Davey, who received a most unfortunate injury to her ear as a result of accidental contact with a hockey stick. We wish everyone a safe and happy school holiday period, please remember that the kids are due back at training on Friday the 16th of July 2010 and that they have a game the following morning at 10:00am. Bec Peacock, Manager Under 16 STRUDDY ALLSTARS I ve left it a bit late to recollect the game against the White Team blow for blow but I do remember that the Allstars put in a huge effort and the end score of 1 2 to White Magic showed it was a close game. Emily Crockett was our goal scorer and Caitlyn Crockett was awarded our POW while Ashlee Beasley was awarded the encouragement award. A huge thank you to our team sponsor Paul from Struddys Sports who joined us on Sponsors Day to watch both the Avatars and the Alllstars. Alison Muller, Manger Under 16 DREAM TEAM Red Dream Team start slow again. Seems to be the weekly pattern. Down 1 nil at half time the Dream Team dug in again to come back and win the game by 2 goals. The Yellow team came up with a solid game and Luke and Tristan really pressured the Dream team time and time again. With no Alex or Matthew at the back (both away and really missed) Emma Meadows (Best Player Award) really kept the Dream team alive and in the game. Together with Harry (our junior fill in) and Imogen in the goals as kicking back the defence was solid. In the second half the Yellows were kept scoreless. Dan, Emma Sciberras and Teaghan again pushed the mid field play and did not stop. Emma Sciberras copped a blow to the jaw and was sidelined for a short time. Meagan and Sara played well in the inner forwards and chased back well. Taylah did a great job and pressured the Yellow D all day. Hats off though to Brooke who scored a goal by doing what she does best and that is being in a great position. Well done Brooke. Harrison Sciberras (Team Award) debuted on the wing and his first touch in his first hockey game almost resulted in a goal. He later scored a goal and then swapped with Imogen and took over the kicking back role. Harrison received the Team Award for his efforts on the day. We get to Saturday games early for 30 minutes of training and tactics before the game and another 10 minute pep talk. 5 Womens Yellow - FLUFFY DUCKS The Fluffy ducks played the hot rods last Saturday and unfortunately lost 4-1. The Fluffy Ducks only had 6 of their own players and 5 from the under 17 s. Thankyou to; Luke, Jasmine, Ollie, Amy and Didian from the under 17 s who played for us. The best player for the game was Annabelle, who had several shots at goal and many runs. The encouragement award was given to Monique for exceptional goal keeping. Monique is improving every week, we are all glad to have her as our goalie. All the girls (plus Luke, Ollie and Didian) had lots of fun playing on the weekend and we are glad to have Mel back. Thank you to everyone who played, we look forward to playing the white women s team next week. Shannen Campbell Womens Red - HOT RODS Hot Rods defeated Fluffy Ducks last Saturday 4 goals to 1. Our goal scorers were Stacey with 1, Jackie with 1 and Taylah with 2. Thanks to dual registration we will now have a goal keeper with Hayley Anger joining the team. Our player of the match was Anne Swan as she is showing great improvement week to week. Thanks Fluffy Ducks for some good competition.
