Team Managers are to have a copy available for reference by their team members. The Pony Club Association reserves the right to alter, amend or delete any part of this program if circumstances present. The only jewellery permitted to be worn by riders when mounted are studs in the ears and wristwatches (medical alerts are permitted). Rings, if worn, must be taped. PERFORMANCES (NSW Competitors only) The requirement for attending State Campdrafting Championships is to have achieved an outside score in at least TWO campdrafting events. Nominations must be accompanied by current Campdrafting performance cards (available from PCA office) to be forwarded by Club Secretaries to Zone Chief Instructors for inspection prior to approving nominations of entrants. NOTE: PERFORMANCE CARDS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE FORWARDED TO THE ASSOCIATION OFFICE WITH ENTRY FORMS FOR THIS CHAMPIONSHIP. ELIGIBILITY OF COMPETITOR (NSW) Nominees are required to have recorded attendance of a minimum of three Pony Club instructional days in the preceding 12 months, on State Membership cards. Verification of this is required by Club Secretaries prior to initialling appropriate column on the entry form. INTER-STATE COMPETITORS Inter-state competitors are the responsibility of their own State organisation. Entries must come through the relevant State office with an accompanying cheque. All correspondence will be forwarded to the State office only. All inter-state competitors represent their State and must wear the full Pony Club uniform of their State Association. This includes State saddlecloths, flags, banners etc. Inter-state competitors ride under the rules of the Pony Club Association of NSW. It is the responsibility of Team Managers to ensure that they are familiar with these rules. STANDARD OF COMPETITORS Competitors must realise that this is a State Championship and the standard will be high. It is the responsibility of Zone Chief Instructors to ensure that mounts and riders meet the required standard. AGE GROUPS: Junior 10 and Under 13 years Age as at first day of competition Junior 13 years and Under 15 years Junior 15 years and Under 17 years Associate 17 years and Under 25 years Note: there will only be one beast in the yard for the 10 & Under 13 year s age group.

3 PLACINGS: 10 placings will be awarded in each event. Where there is a tie (after countback) the ribbon recipient will be decided by the flip of a coin, except for tenth place in which case extra ribbons will be provided. ZONE TEAM COMPETITION There will be only one Zone Team Championship award. Teams to comprise of a maximum of four riders and a minimum of three riders. All scores to count. STATE TEAM COMPETITION There will only be one State Team Championship award. Teams to comprise of a maximum of four riders and a minimum of three riders. All scores to count. LEAVE All riders are reminded that they may not leave the grounds until after the final presentation without permission from the Technical Delegate and the Advisory Committee. Any rider who leaves without permission may be suspended from competing for a full twelve (12) months from the date of the breach in the regulations. APPLICATION FOR EARLY LEAVE If, for any unforseen circumstance, a competitor wishes to leave the venue prior to the final presentation of awards (whether they be a ribbon winner or not), their Team Manager is required to make a written request to be lodged at the Secretary's office at the venue for decision by the Association Advisory Committee. Failure to obtain permission may jeopardise future entry. RE-DRAW FOR FINALISTS At State Campdrafting Championships a re-draw for finalists will be done. In the event of there being outside scores and camp scores, the outside scores will be drawn separately and will go first. SCORING The organisers have the option of conducting a one round competition, one round and final or two round competition depending on the availability of cattle, number of entrants and facilities. Riders who do not obtain an outside score in the first round shall not be placed ahead of those who do. In the Campdraft programme where the term "points" is used, it refers to the placing in the competition, that is, 10 points for first placing, down to 1 point for tenth placing. Where the term "score" is used, it refers to the marks awarded by the judge. The Championship Zone and State Campdraft team will be the team with the highest points. In the event of equality for individual placings in teams, a count-back is conducted as under: (i) total scores; (ii) total cut outs; (iii) total horse work; (iv) total course. Equality of Individual places for Campdraft - in equality of score for first placing, a second round run will be conducted. "Scores" from both rounds are added together to determine the Champion. If equality still exists, cumulative cut out scores will determine placings. Competitors taking part in the second round will have precedence over those top scoring in first round and will fill the top placings. Count back system will apply after this to determine minor placings: (i) cut out; (ii) horse work; (iii) course. Judges are directed to abide by the rules as set out and refrain from altering or varying them, except under circumstances that would be exclusively in the interest of safety or adverse conditions and then ONLY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CHAMPIONSHIP ADVISORY COMMITTEE. NO WHIP OF ANY KIND MAY BE CARRIED OR USED BY A COMPETITOR IN A CAMPDRAFT. HORSE IDENTIFICATION Horse ID forms are required to be sent to the PCA office with entries. FITNESS CHECK TROPHY A Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the smartest Zone (riders and team managers) at the Fitness Check. There is one combined trophy for both the Sporting and Campdrafting Championships. FITNESS CHECK Horses will be checked for soundness during the afternoon on the day prior to the first event at 3:00 pm. Riders must present horses ridden. Numbers are to be worn. Riders must wear either full Pony Club uniform or a casual uniform

4 of fawn jodhpurs or moleskins, polo shirt (with collar and sleeves) in Club, Zone or State colours, together with regulation ASNZS approved riding helmets and boots. COMPETITORS PLEASE ARE REMINDED THAT NO HORSE MAY LEAVE THE GROUND AFTER THE FITNESS CHECK AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE FINAL PARADE WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE. Horses arriving during the night ONLY will be checked at 7.30 am on the first day of competition. Application for this check is to be made to Secretary by Team Manager on the day prior to the first day of competition. Suspect or doubtful horses may be asked to present for a further inspection by a veterinarian to make the final decision as to participation. Destruction of severely injured horses: If a horse is so severely injured that on humanitarian grounds it has to be destroyed, the following procedure will apply; if the owner or his/her authorised representative is present, his/her agreement will first be obtained by the official Veterinary Surgeon. If the owner or his/her representative is not available, the Technical Delegate acting on the advice of the Official Veterinary Surgeon, may order the destruction of a horse. GEAR CHECKS Will take place prior to each event TEAM MANAGER must be present. Competitors are not at liberty to leave the Gear Check Area after inspection and prior to event. BACK NUMBERS Back numbers will be issued to Team Managers from the Secretary's office on the ground after 6.00 pm on the day prior to the first day of competition. The same back number will be used by competitors in both Sporting and Campdrafting Championships. Deposit of $10.00 will be charged and is refundable if Team managers return numbers in good order and the rider has taken part in competition. All numbers must be collected prior to 7.30 on the day of competition. Failure to comply deems the competitor to have scratched. Exceptional circumstances only which must have been notified to the Secretary, will be considered LATE for issue of numbers. NOTE: It is the responsibility of the Team Manager to check numbers for damage prior to return. Numbers found later to be damaged will be charged to the Zone. EXERCISE OF HORSE Competitors may exercise their horse in areas provided. Horses may only be exercised (this includes lunging) by their nominated riders, except in the case of riders under 13 years, where an adult member may lunge the horse with the permission of the Team Manager.
