6 Become a Volunteer The superior quality of our programs is due largely to the dedication of our volunteers. Each member s YMCA experience is enhanced by the commitment to excellence of these outstanding people. The Stratford-Perth Family YMCA actively encourages our members to share their skills and abilities and to enhance their personal growth through volunteer opportunities. Providing these opportunities for personal growth is an integral part of our mission. YMCA volunteers are recruited and evaluated, in all of our program areas, using the same criteria as any YMCA employee. Training opportunities are constant, to ensure that certifications and education always meet or exceed our standards of excellence. There are volunteers in every area of our YMCA: Graphic Design, Web Design, Membership Services, Aquatics, Youth, Group Fitness, Administration, Individual Conditioning, Camp, Babysitting and Child Care. The fundraising achievements of our Strong Kids Campaign are an example of the excellent efforts of a team of dedicated volunteers and staff. We encourage you to take advantage of the wide diversity of opportunities; many of our YMCA staff got their start as volunteers. So, remember We build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Ask any of our staff how you can become a YMCA volunteer and Build your future and your skills at the YMCA! About our YMCA Strong Kids Campaign Our annual YMCA Strong Kids Campaign raises funds to give children and youth in our community the opportunities they need, to participate in proven YMCA programs and achieve their full potential: to live healthier, happier lives today, and grow into productive adults in the future. Supporting our YMCA Strong Kids Campaign directly helps children, teens and young adults in our community. The Stratford-Perth YMCA, has been an active and charitable part of our community since We serve over 7000 individuals and one in four youth and young adults years across Stratford-Perth annually. Last year more than 2,400 people were assisted to participate in YMCA programs and activities representing an investment of more than $500,000 in individuals across our community. The majority of assistance went to children, youth and young adults in the form of memberships at our health and fitness sites in Stratford and St Marys including swimming instruction; participation in our summer day camps in Stratford, Mitchell and Shakespeare; meals, support & counselling through our youth centres in Stratford and Mitchell and support for families in times of challenge through our early learning and school-age programs and sites in Stratford and Shakespeare. Your gift will help ensure people of all ages are healthier and more productive regardless of their background or financial situation. This means: Helping a family enjoy fun filled activity at the Y Helping a child learn to swim Helping a teen learn to lead and feel success Enabling a child participate in a recreation or physical activity Enabling a family to use a trusted, quality child care There are children, teens and young adults in our community who, with your help, will be healthier today and more productive tomorrow. By giving today, you can help our kids build a better community for the future. To learn more about the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, or to make a donation, visit or visit the Y today. Together, we can build a healthy community. YMCA of Stratford Perth 204 Downie Street, Stratford N5A 1X A Member Agency of the
