4 COMMODORE S REPORT March was another busy month at the club! From Taste of the Towns to the St. Patrick s Day Party to the Junior Dance to wedding receptions and lunch meetings, there was always something going on. As we roll into April, this warmer weather means we re getting closer to swimming and sailing activities! It s going to be a great spring and summer at the club, and we need your involvement. A few bullet points for this month: The Log Sheet will be mailed to all members, except those who opt out and choose to go on line and read it or print it. The board believes that it is our primary source of communication and we want to provide it to the members, unless you decide you don t need a mailed copy. If you don t want a copy mailed to you, please let the office know. We ve got a Crawfish Boil coming up on April 10, the Alfonso Sutter Regatta on April 24 25, the Flag Raising on May 8, and Swim Team starts on May 10. Mark your calendars! Our Taste of the Town dinner series has been hugely successful, and look for another one in April. Also, please remember we are serving a tapas menu and providing entertainment on Saturday nights. Please note that the reduced initiation fee is in effect until the end of May. If you know of potential members, please bring them to the club to show what we have to offer. If their application is submitted prior to May 31, upon acceptance to the club they qualify for the reduced fee. The house operations will be instituting a new procedure which involves providing your name and membership number prior to placing your order. While change is sometimes hard, we ask that you be patient on this matter. The board approved this house committee recommendation and we believe it will result in a more efficient billing system, which benefits all of the members. Thank you for your continued use of the club. See you at the club, Marty Warren, Commodore GYC Thirteenth Annual Deck Party & Crawfish Boil Featuring Pat Murphy Band Jumpin, Honkin, Bluesy Saturday, April 10 th Crawfish served from 5pm-7pm Music plays 6pm till 10 pm
