3 H ello and welcome to tonight s Division Two Challenge Cup Semi Final as holders Bosham play Montpelier Villa at the Shooting Field. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Steyning Town for hosting this evening s match, and I hope you all make use of their facilities and have a safe journey home after the conclusion of the match. I would like to welcome both sets of players, club officials and supporters and hope you enjoy what we hope to be an enjoyable match. A further welcome goes to this evening s match officials: referee Robert King and his assistants, Charles Bowen and Chris Handley. Congratulations to you all on tonight s appointment, and we hope you enjoy the game. Bosham lifted the cup last season after a 3-0 win against Sidlesham at Nyetimber Lane, Pagham, and the holders will hope to retain their title, with league newcomers Montpelier Villa looking to cause an upset. In their first season in the Southern Combination League, Villa have impressed on the pitch and sit in eighth spot - nine points behind the Robins, although Bosham do have two games in hand on the Sussex University outfit. In the league, Bosham have completed a double over Bill Clifford s men, but they shared two different matches. In their home fixture, Bosham ran out 3-1 winners - Nick Edgington, Alex Barnes and Marco Giambelardini on target. However, the teams shared nine goals in the return fixture, with the visitors winning 5-4 at the beginning of the month. Two goals each from Alex Barnes and James Wilson saw Bosham race into a 4-0 lead, but only for Montpelier to draw level at 4-4 with ten minutes to go. However, Neil Redman struck late on to give the visitors the win. The winner of tonight s match will play either AFC Varndeanians or Ferring in the final, with a date, venue and kick off to be confirmed. The two sides play each other tomorrow night at Crabree Park, Wick & Barnham. 4 SOUTHERN COMBINATION LEAGUE ROU The final weekend in the Premier Division of the Macron Store Southern Combination Football League produced no fewer than 39 goals, with Horsham celebrating the title with a narrow win at Pagham. Darren Boswell scored the only goal for the Hornets, who end the season with 97 points and just three defeats after their 1-0 win at Nyetimber Lane. Eastbourne Town finish eleven points behind Dom Di Paola s side in second after they suffered a surprise defeat at Lancing. Naim Rouane scored a hat-trick for Ash Bailey s side at Culver Road, with Lewis Finney on target on the hour as the hosts ran out impressive 4-0 winners. Newhaven sealed a third place finish with a 2-0 win at home to Loxwood. Lee Robinson scored his 43rd goal of the campaign, whilst Adam Kneller got the other goal for the Dockers, who have the Peter Bentley Cup Final to look forward to on May 2. Unfortunately St. Francis Rangers ended the season how they started it with a heavy defeat. Harry Russell scored a hat-trick for Arundel, with Dave Herbert and Max Thoms both scoring twice as they hosts ran out 9-0 winners at Mill Road. Asa Nichol- 4 son and Josh Biggs completed the scoring. Chichester City finished in the top five after they won at Horsham YMCA. Jimmy Wild and Dan Hegarty scored twice in as many second half minutes for Chi, who held on to win 2-1 despite Anthony Hibbert striking late on for the hosts. Hailsham Town couldn t end the season with a win as they lost a seven-goal thriller at home to Littlehampton Town. Rob Hutchings scored twice, with Mitchell Hand and Shay Wiggans also on target for the Golds, despite Hailsham coming back from two goals down to draw level at 2-2. Kristian Harding s first half effort saw East Preston pick up only their third win of the season at home to AFC Uckfield Town, whilst Peter Cooper and Liam Baitup were on target for Eastbourne United in a 2-1 win against Worthing United. Dan Simmonds scored twice for Wick & Barnham United as they came from a goal down to win at Hassocks. Jonno Melia had put the hosts ahead at the break, but only for Joe Matthews, Andy Chick and a double from Simmonds to see Wick & Barnham run out 4-1 winners. In the Premier Division s other game, Jake Holmes scored twice, with Stuart Chester also on target for Broadbridge Heath in a 3-1 win at Shoreham. In Division One, the race for third place will go down to the wire between Oakwood, Storrington and Southwick. Oakwood moved above the Swans after they won at Langney Wanderers. Jack McNab scored twice for the visitors at Shinewater Rec, with Jamie Wanstall also on target in the 3-2 win. Shane Saunders scored twice for Wanderers, but it proved to be in vein. Southwick are two points behind Oakwood and Storrington in fifth going into their final game after goals from Smith and Donnelly saw them win 2-1 at home to Saltdean United. Mile Oak s hopes of promotion have gone for this season after they suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Crawley Down Gatwick. Don Paisley scored twice, with Oli Leslie also on target for the Anvils at Mile Oak Rec. Lingfield are on course for a top eight finish after coming from behind to win at Steyning Town. Craig Knowles gave the hosts the lead, but only for James Williams to draw the Lingers level before the break. Declan Smith and then Williams struck in the second half to see the visitors win 3-1 at the Shooting Field. Tom Bayley and Tom Jefkins both scored hat-tricks for Sidlesham

Jamie Smith was also on target for hosts Sids, this all coming after Gordon Cuddington had put Bexhill on level terms ten minutes in. Lewis Hamilton scored twice for Midhurst & Easebourne as they won 4-1 against Selsey. Anthony Kirby and George Morris were also on target for the Stags. In the Division s other game, Jamie Crone and Martin Denny scored in the second half for Little Common as they won 2-0 at Seaford Town. Tariq Richards winner gave AFC Varndeanians all three points to move four points clear at the top of Division Two. Devon Fender and Harri Nourse had cancelled out Ahmed Shaker and Jack Langford goals as Roffey looked to have won a point, but only for Richards late winner. They are now four points clear of Cowfold in second after they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Bosham. Alex Barnes and Marco Giambelardini got the hosts for the Robins. Billingshurst aren t out of the hunt for a top two finish despite drawing 3-3 with Westfield. Liam Ward and a brace from Sam Ellis saw Westfield take control, but Billy Lannon scored twice for Hurst who came back to earn a point, with Eno Idiong also on target. Rottingdean Village are in third spot after an emphatic win against Alfold at home. Casey Marlow scored twice, whilst further goals came from Matt Jupp, Jack Doe, Ross Smith and Bradley King. Upper Beeding are sixth after they beat AFC Roffey Club, 3-0. Ben Whales, Timothy Tapscott and James Rowland got the goals for the hosts in the in. Mike Asare, Carl Bennett and Chris Darwin got the goals for Rustington as they won 3-1 against Montpelier Villa. Ryan Hudson, Ben Adfield, Chahir Maizi and Tom Baker scored for Clymping as they eased to a 4-1 win at Hurstpiepoint, whilst in the division s other game, Rossi Kaye got the only goal for Ferring in a 1-0 win at Ifield Galaxy. 5

6 THE HOME END BOSHAM FC LEAGUE POSITION: 7th (DIVISION TWO) CLUB HISTORY Kieran MAGEE Age 21, Goalkeeper. Plucked from the Portsmouth Sunday League, Kieran has taken the step-up in standard in his stride in making the no 1 shirt his own. An agile and commanding shotstopper with great distribution. Ever present this season with 14 clean sheets to his name. Division 3 Cup winner in 2014/15. Andy PROBEE, Age 36, Player Manager/ Right Back. Experienced and combative player with a number of spells at Bosham. Mainly seen at right back although equally at home in midfield. Previous experience managing Chichester City Reserves and spent two seasons as Sidlesham player/ manager in the Sussex County League Division 2. Andy was the ideal candidate to step-up to Player/ Coach at Bosham for the 2013/14 season, before becoming the club's first team manager in November 2013, where he led the club to the West Sussex Premier Division title, and last season s Division 3 Cup triumph against Sidlesham. PAT BULBECK, Age 20, Left Back. Chichester University student who has been an assured presence in the back-line since signing at the start of the season. Pat is comfortable in possession, has a great leap, and loves to get forward - linking up well with likes of Graeme Dowden and Alex Barnes down left side. 21 appearances so far this season. CALLUM FEWELL, Age 21, Central Defence. Youth and reserve team product, Callum is a strong and commanding defender who can also play in midfield. Made his senior debut in 2012/13, scoring the only goal in a win at Faygate United. Beginning to establish at heart of defence, with ten appear- ances this season. Plays with a maturity well beyond his 21 years. Ben BLANSHARD, Age 38, Centre Half/ Left Back. Tall centre half, strong in the air. Played in the Sussex County League Division 1 for Selsey and was part of the double winning Bosham side of 2009/10. Ben reads the game well, and was a major contributor to Bosham's best defensive record in the West Sussex Premier Division in 2012/13. Ankle problems have limited Ben s appearances this season, scoring once in our 1-0 home win against AFC Roffey in October. Dave BRYANT, Age 27, Centre Half. No nonsense, strong defender now in his second season with Bosham, and a regular in the back-line. Scored his maiden goal this season in our away win at Rustington earlier this month. 6

7 Matt DOCHERTY, Age 27, Defence/ Midfield. Tough tackling former Moneyfields and Chichester City central midfielder, with a good footballing brain, comfortable in possession, and is equally at home at centre half. A member of our West Sussex Premier Division championship winning side in 2013/14, and scorer of a fantastic third goal for the Robins in last season s Division 3 Cup Final. GRAEME DOWDEN, Age 27, Left Midfield. Enjoying his second spell at Walton Lane following a switch to Chichester City last season, the former Hayling United man was a central figure to our double-winning side of 2009/10, and West Sussex Premier Division winner in 2013/14. Thirteen appearances since his return has seen five goals including both in our recent win at Billingshurst, ending their eight match unbeaten run. Alex BARNES, Age 22, Left/ Right Midfield. Pacey and skillful former Sidlesham winger, made an instant impact for the Robins after signing last season, and is currently joint top-goal scorer with nine goals from 16 appearances. Louis BELL Age 27, Midfield. Much travelled, tenacious midfielder, started out in Portsmouth s Youth team; featured in Weymouth s Conference side in 2006/07, also spells at Newport IOW, Gosport Borough, Worthing, Blackfield & Langley, AFC Portchester and Horndean. Louis popped up with the winner in our 1-0 second round win against Roffey. James WILSON (c), Age 27. Midfield. Cultured central midfielder who signed at the start of the 2012/13 season, and previously with United Services Portsmouth. Made an instant impact, finishing the campaign with the Players Player Award. Great range of passing with a fierce shot and useful in dead-ball situations. Captained the club to their third Division 3 Cup victory last season and also part of West Sussex Premier Division winning team in 2013/14. Nick EDGINGTON Age 35, Right Midfield. Like manager Andy Probee, Nick has a long association to the club. Deployed on the right side of midfield this season, but natural height also an asset in central defensive or striking roles. Previously Hayling United s top goal scorer during their time in the Wessex League. Scorer of our second goal in last year s final, and found the net on three occasions this season, although ruled out for a number of weeks through injury. Jake LAFFERTY, Age 29, Midfield. In his second season with Bosham, having been part of Division 3 Cup winning side last year. Vocal presence on the pitch with great technical ability - can maneuver out of the tightest of corners, and will chase lost causes all day long. 12 appearances this season have returned three goals. RYAN HILLIER, Age 22, Forward. Re-signed for the club after a spell at West Sussex League side, Fittleworth this season, Ryan has impressed for the reserves most notably scoring a hat-trick in our 5-4 victory against Midhurst & Easebourne earlier in the month, which earned a recent first-team call up. Then went on to score the Robins equaliser two minutes from time at home to Upper Beeding. Dave STOREY, Age 32, Forward. Prolific front-man signed from West Sussex League outfit, Boxgrove in February 2014, and leading marksman in 2013/14 that helped propel the Robins back into the County League. Strong player to have hold the ball up when building an attack Dave scored the opening goal in last season s Division 3 Cup victory against Sidlesham. Eight goals in all competitions this season from 13 appearances. Marco GIAMBELARDINI, Age 26, Forward. Arguably the most skillful in the squad, Marco s trickery has out foxed many a defender. The former Selsey man can be very difficult to stop when in full-flow with the ball at his feet. Great vision and range of passing and one of the biggest assist contributors at the club. Almost ever-present this season and joint top-scorer with nine goals. Neil REDMAN, Age 40, Left Back/ Forward. Longserving clubman, assistant player/ manager who has been utilised both at left-back and his more accustomed striker role this season. A classic Fox in the Box finisher none more so than at Montpelier Villa, as Neilsa scored the decisive goal in a captivating 5-4 win. Alongside Head Coach, Grahame Vick, Neilsa forms a valued part of the playing management team. JAMES RUSTON, Age 17, Left Midfield/ Forward. Dual signed with US Portsmouth u18 s and impressed playing with freedom on his natural leftside, and step-up to the men s game in his stride. 7

10 THE AWAY END MONTPELIER VILLA LEAGUE POSITION: 8th (DIVISION TWO) CLUB HISTORY James McKemey (Goalkeeper) - Dependable all round keeper; shot stopping, aerial ability, talking, the lot. Consistently solid and one of the leaders of the team. Matt Harrison (Defender) - all action full back, strong in the tackle but loves to get forward. Has developed an excellent partnership with Nick Boutal down the right flank. Simon Whitney (Defender) - Hard working, attack minded and versatile full back. Equally adept at Centre Back when required. Stu Kempton (Defender) - County League veteran. Killer Kempo has been on the circuit for years, yet still plays the game like a 20 year old. Good in the air, reliable and reads the game well, also adds vital experience. Shaun Jepson (Defender) - a no nonsense big and commanding centre back. Bags of enthusiasm and no little talent. Another one of the team's leaders. Aaron Blackwell (Defender) - Cultured, composed and comfortable on the ball, two footed and another one that loves to get forward. Nic Eadie (Defender) - Club stalwart, veteran and legend. My be knocking on but there's no substitute for experience. Reads the game really well and invariably wins the ball. Dave MacNeill (Midfield) - Club captain with great battling qualities, a never say die attitude and an eye for goal. Whether it's a tackle on the ground or a header in the air, Dave generally wins them all. not to mention excellent at keeping the ball moving. Tod Brennan (Midfield) - hard working, gritty northerner. Great in the tackle but a fabulous left foot too. Loves a drive into the box the opportunity arises. Karl Gumbrell (Midfield) - box to box player with both energy and skill aplenty. Keeps the ball moving and composed in the most heated of situations. Chris Grant (Midfield) - great feet to both beat a man and pick a pass, also battles and works his socks off. Sam Terry (Forward) - Pacey, twinkle toes winger. Can amaze and infuriate in equal measures! On his day unplayable though. Nick Boutal (Forward) - Great feet for a tall guy. Bags of skill and another who on his day can give a full back nightmares. Top scorer too. George Hatton (Forward) - Joined us a couple of months into the season and slotted straight in. Another one with great feet who can really strike a sweet ball. Liam Downes (Forward) - Hard working, combative "old fashioned" centre forward. Good both in the air and on the deck. Leads the line and brings others into play. Adam Byrom (Goalkeeper) - fantastic shot stopper and one who commands his area. A great kick on him. 10
