3 RubberDucks Last Game Recap Senators 5 RubberDucks 3 Thursday, 8/20/15 Summary Harrisburg s Isaac Ballou delivered a sacrifice fly and a solo homer, and right-hander Lucas Giolito picked up his second straight win, as the Senators captured a 5-3 win over the Akron RubberDucks Thursday night at Canal Park. Turning Point Ballou, Harrisburg s 25-year-old right fielder, gave the Senators a 3-2 lead when he lifted a sacrifice fly to center in the top of the fourth against Akron starter Duke von Schamann (1-1). Ballou s sacrifice fly drove in Pedro Severino who had doubled. He later added a solo homer in the sixth, also off von Schamann, to extend the Senators lead to 4-2. Mound Presence Giolito, regarded by experts as Washington s top minor league prospect, made his fifth Double-A start, and first against Akron. He worked five innings and allowed two runs on five hits. Mixing in a 96-mph fastball with a number of biting curves, he fanned five. Giolito (1-1) limited the RubberDucks to a run in the first on a wild pitch, and a run in the third on an RBI single by Yandy Diaz. For the RubberDucks, von Schamann absorbed the loss, going five innings as well. He was tagged for four runs on eight hits, including a pair of solo homers by Ballou and Drew Vettleson. In just his second start of the season, von Schamann walked three and struck out four. Duck Tales Diaz had a pair of hits and walked twice. He raised his batting average to.309.
