Entering this series, the Braves won eight of their last 11 games with Philadelphia, outscoring the Phillies over the stretch, which dates to a doubleheader on August 30, Prior to that doubleheader sweep, the Braves lost 12 of 14 with Philadelphia, including seven straight from July 28- August RHP Nick Pivetta is 3-0 with a 2.77 ERA (8 ER/26.0 IP) in five career starts against the Braves...Both of his no-decisions have come this season. THIRD GAME: OF Ronald Acuña Jr. collected two more hits last night, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI...He is hitting.462 (6-for-13) with three extra-base hits and three RBI in his first three games. DOUBLES: The Braves doubled three more times yesterday, giving them 60 this season...that total extends the franchise record for most two-base hits before the end of April...The 1998 team held the previous record of 56. The Braves 60 doubles are the most in the N.L. and the most by a N.L. team prior to May 1 since 2014, when Colorado had B Freddie Freeman and 2B Ozzie Albies share the MLB lead with 11 doubles...the pair are also tied for the most two-base hits prior to the end of April in franchise history...hank Aaron (1969), Marcus Giles (2003, 25 games) and Nick Markakis (2016) all had 11. OFFENSE: The Braves offense leads the N.L. in runs (137), hits (240), doubles (60), slugging percentage (.432) and batting average (.268), while ranking second in on-base percentage (.339). They are 13 behind the 1998 club for the most runs scored in a season prior to May 1 in franchise history. EXTRA-BASE HITS: 2B Ozzie Albies collected another double yesterday and now has 20 extra-base hits this season, the franchise record for most extra-base hits by the end of April...Dale Murphy first set the mark of 17 in 1985 before Chipper Jones matched the total in 1998 Justin Upton did it last in His 20 extra-base hits are the most in the majors... He is one of eight players to reach 20 extra-base hits prior to May 1 and the first since 2008, when Philadelphia s Chase Utley had 22 and Pittsburgh s Nate McLouth had 20. The MLB record is 23, done by Jermaine Dye for Kansas City in Albies also leads the N.L. with 68 total bases, and is seven away from the franchise record by the end of April held by Chipper Jones (75 in 1998). STOLEN BASES: The Braves swiped three bases last night, including home plate in the first inning, and Atlanta now has 19 steals this season, second most in the N.L....OF Ender Inciarte collected his 10th steal of the season last night, and he is tied with Washington s Trea Turner for the major league lead. The last Braves player with more steals than Inciarte by the end of April was Kenny Lofton in Lofton tied the franchise record of 11 first set by Jerry Royster in The Braves stole 77 bases last season, tied for the 12th fewest in baseball. The club has not finished among the top 10 in stolen bases since the 2000 season, when they were second to Florida (168) with 148 steals. From 2001 through the end of last season, the Braves collected the third fewest stolen bases in the major leagues (1,260)...Only St. Louis (1,253) and the Chicago Cubs (1,230) had less. ROSTER MOVE: The Braves returned LHP Luiz Gohara from his rehabilitation assignment, reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett following yesterday s game. Gohara began the season on the disabled list with a left ankle sprain. He made three rehabilitation assignments, going 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA (6 ER/11.1 IP)...He struck out 12 and walked six.
