ROSTER MOVE: The Braves today returned LHP Sam Freeman from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list...freeman takes the place of LHP Kolby Allard, who the club optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night s game. Freeman missed 20 games after going to the 10-day disabled list on July 30, retroactive to July 29, with left shoulder inflammation. Freeman appeared in three major league rehabilitation games, going 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA (1 ER/2.2 IP)...He struck out two over a scoreless inning with Triple-A Gwinnett on August 16 in his final appearance. SKID: The Braves have lost three straight games following their season high-tying five-game winning streak...the Braves had two other five-game winning streaks this season, first from April 28 to May 3 and then from July 29 to August 3. Following their first five-game winning streak, the Braves also went on to lose three straight before rebounding and winning six of the following seven. After the Mets snapped Atlanta s second five-game winning streak with a 3-0 win on August 4, the Braves won three of the next four. VENTERS: LHP Jonny Venters recorded two outs in the eighth inning last night to record his seventh hold of the season...the lefty has yet to allow a run in 7.2 innings across nine appearances with Atlanta this season. LEADING OFF: OF Ronald Acuña Jr. singled to lead off the bottom of the first inning last night, and has now led off nine consecutive games and reached safely...that is the longest such streak in Atlanta franchise history, surpassing a six-game run by Martín Prado, May 11-16, He homered on Saturday, walked on Sunday, homered in each end of Monday s doubleheader, homered again on Tuesday, was hit by a pitch on Wednesday, and singled on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
