These four games mark Miami s final trip to Atlanta this season...the Braves have won four of five over the Marlins here this season and 11 of the last 14 in Atlanta, dating to June 17 of last season. RHP Touki Toussaint is set to make his MLB debut today...he will become the 12th starter the Braves have used this season, tied for the most in the National League...San Diego and New York have also used 12. ROSTER MOVE: The Braves today selected RHP Touki Toussaint from Triple-A Gwinnett, optioned him to the Stripers and appointed him the 26th man for today s doubleheader...toussaint will wear No. 62. Toussaint is scheduled to become the 10th Atlanta player to debut this season, and the third starting pitcher...rhp Mike Soroka started against the New York Mets on May 1, while LHP Kolby Allard debuted with a start vs. Miami on July 31. Toussaint is 22 years, 54 days old...he is set to become the seventh-youngest pitcher to start a game this season...of the seven pitchers to start a game this season at Toussaint s age or younger, four have done so for Atlanta...RHP Mike Soroka (five starts), LHP Kolby Allard (one start) and LHP Luiz Gohara (one start) have also started for the Braves. Toussaint will become the 32nd player to pitch for the Braves this season, the second most in the majors...only Chicago (NL) has used more with 33...The 32 players are the third most in franchise history...the 2015 team used 37 and the 2016 club used 35. HOMESTAND: The Braves started this season-long 11-game homestand with a series win over the weekend against Milwaukee. ODD WIN: The Braves beat the Brewers yesterday, 8-7, despite getting outhit by 10, The last time the Braves allowed at least 19 hits in a nine-inning game and won was July 26, 1964, when the club allowed 20 in a win in game two of a doubleheader at New York Over the last 110 seasons, there are only two other such wins in franchise history: April 18, 1929 and August 20, The Braves have been outhit by 10 and won a game one other time since at least 1913: May 26, 1959 in Milwaukee s 1-0 win over Pittsburgh...The Pirates Harvey Haddix tossed 12 perfect innings before allowing one hit and one unearned run in the 13th inning to lose...the Braves Lew Burdette allowed 12 hits over 13.0 shutout innings. FREEMAN STREAKING: 1B Freddie Freeman ran his hitting streak to 14 games yesterday after collecting two doubles...freeman is batting.370 (20-for-54) with a.433 on-base percentage during his run that dates to July 29...His streak is the longest active run in the majors. Freeman is the midst of his third double-digit hitting streak of the season...he went 16 games from May 19 to June 3 and then another 10 games from June 5 to June 16.
