The Braves have won seven of the last 10 games with the Phillies, dating to August 30, 2017, outscoring their N.L. East rival over this stretch. Prior to this winning stretch over Philadelphia, the Braves lost 12 of 14 with the Phillies, including seven straight from July 28-August 28, The Braves are 3-0 in rubber games this season. BAUTISTA: The Braves today agreed to terms with free agent infielder José Bautista on a one-year minorleague contract for the 2018 season...he will play third base. Bautista, 37, played last season with Toronto and batted.203 (119-for-587) with 27 doubles, 23 home runs and 65 RBI over 157 games. ROSTER MOVE: The Braves today placed RHP José Ramírez on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation and recalled LHP Jesse Biddle from Triple-A Gwinnett. Biddle appeared in four games with the Stripers, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings and converting his only save opportunity...he struck out eight and walked one. SERIES WIN: With a win tonight, the Braves will take this set and improve to in series play this season, including at SunTrust Park. The Braves have scored 16 runs in the first inning, tied for the second most in baseball and four off the lead of the Washington Nationals. Last season, the Braves scored 79 first-inning runs, 6th fewest in the majors and 46 behind the MLB lead. THE BULLPEN: The current members of the Braves bullpen have a combined 1.27 ERA (7 ER/49.2 IP) with 32 hits allowed and 52 strikeouts (9.4 K/9) in 51 appearances.
