1 INVITATION Norges Padleforbund Organizing Committee: Kristiansand Kajakklubb NORDIC CHAMPIONSHIPS KAYAK FLATWATER RACING AUGUST 2018 Gillsvann, Kristiansand Norwegian Canoe Association in collaboration with the organizing club Kristiansand Kayakclub are pleased to invite to the 2018 Nordic Championships in kayak flatwater racing. The competition will be held at Gillsvann kayakcourse outside the city of Kristiansand. As decided by the Nordic kayak and canoe associations the Nordic Championships cover ages U16, U18 and U21. All races are direct finals. Each nation is allowed 2 boats for each start on 200m, 500m and 1000m. For the U16 4x K1 200m relay each nation is allowed 2 teams. For the 2500m and 5000m K1 and K2 races each nation is allowed 5 boats. A race will be completed if there are minimum 3 participants from minimum 2 countries. 3 Entries: Preliminary entries must be submitted by Friday, July 6, 2018 and shall include the number of boats for each start, and the total number of athletes and leaders that will require accommodation and meals. Athletes form must include the names of all potential candidates for the Nordic Championships. Each participating country must fill out the attached excel document with name, gender, and date of birth. It is very important that the Excel document contains all possible candidates. The document should also include the team leader s name and address. Preliminary entries and Athletes form shall be sent to: morten@padleforbundet.no at Friday July 6, 2018 at the latest. Further registration will be done in racemanager.no (The Norwegian Canoe Association s online platform for organizing and running canoe competitions). Each teamleader will be given access to racemanager.no, where they can enter information about accommodation, meals and define individual entries and team boat entries for each distance. A short manual for the online entry form will be provided. Final and binding entries must be submitted in racemanager.no by Friday, July 27, 2018 at 17:00 (UTC+1). By this date the participation fee shall be paid to Kristiansand Kajakklubb: DNBANOKK SWIFT: IBAN: NO Bankadress: Spareskillingsbanken, Festningsgata 11, 4611 Kristiansand Participation Fee: The participation fee is 130 per athlete or leader and covers entry fees for the competitions, accommodation for 2 nights, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner Friday and Saturday. Accommodation and Meals: Accommodation will be at Justvik skole, Kvernhusheia 2, 4634 Kristiansand, approx 3km from the competition site. Participants bring their own mattress and sleeping bag. Breakfast will be served at the school in Justvik. Lunches and dinner will be served at the competition site. If there are athletes/leaders with food allergy, please inform us about that. 4 Safety: Norway and Sweden have rules requiring U16 athletes to use life vests during competitions, whereas Denmark and Finland do not enforce such rules. Please note that the organizing committee may, in order to ensure adequate safeguarding during poor weather conditions, introduce mandatory use of life vests for U16 athletes. This is in accordance with the agreement made between the Nordic kayak and canoe associations at the summit meeting 7 November Site Location: Gillsvann Kayak course is located approx 6 km east of the center of Kristiansand. If you are arriving at E18 from Oslo, you will pass Varodd Brigde with approx 1km, then turn left onto road 452. After approx 2,5 km you will see Gillsvann Kayakcourse on your left side. To the accomodation site at Justvik skole, just continue approx 3 km on road 452, and you will have the school at your right side just beside the road.
