Due to this fact with the fees from the University for 2019, we will be implementing a fee for each 4-H child with the enrollments that will go to the county for fees charged. We have tried to avoid this by having fundraisers but with very few participating, we will have to pass it along. 2 PUTNAM COUNTY FAIR UPDATES SET UP OF THE 4-H BUILDING WILL BE THURSDAY, August 5:30 PM ALL PUTNAM COUNTY FAIR ENTRIES ARE DUE TO THE PC EXTENSION OFFICE NO LATER THAN AUGUST 4 BY 430 PM AFTER THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY A LATE FEE NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER AUGUST 25 (not even with late fee) If you had exhibits selected at Achievement Day for Missouri State Fair read on; All projects will be back in the Extension Office for pick up on August 24 and MUST be picked up by August 31 so you may have them to bring to the PC Fair. 4-H Royalty Information 4-H Royalty Report Forms are due by August H Royalty Interviews are Sunday August 26 If you have questions just give Mary a call. 3 REPORT FORM AND END OF YEAR INFORMATION ALL PUTNAM COUNTY PROJECT REPORT FORMS AND MISSOURI STATE 14 & OVER REPORT FORMS ARE DUE AT THE PC EXTENSION OFFICE NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 1 Remember you MUST submit a Putnam County Project Report form for each project that you wish to receive your project pin in. 4-H CLUB END OF YEAR FORMS, CLUB TREASURER S BOOKS AND SECRETAR- IES BOOKS ARE DUE ON OCTOBE 1 Treasurer s Books MUST me turned in for an end of year audit. Report forms are available on our website; ANNUAL GUN RAFFLE FUNDRAISER Once again we are having our annual Gun Raffle Fundraiser. The drawing for the guns will be in October but, raffle tickets are available here at the PC Extension Office now. We need your help in selling them, if you would be willing to take some and be responsible for selling then contact us at the Extension Office. The proceeds from the Gun Raffle will go to the Putnam County Extension Office. Your help in selling these tickets would be greatly appreciated. VET SCIENCE PROJECT LEADER Dr Reckrodt of Unionville Veterinary Clinic has volunteered to work with any 4-Her s interested in the Vet Science Project. When doing your enrollments in October just enroll in Vet Science and contact the PC Extension Office.

Putnam County 4-H Building receives 4-H Community Service Grant from the Missouri 4-H Foundation The Putnam County 4-H Clubs are excited about receiving a 2018 4-H

com, as well as DuPont Pioneer, to match a 4-H community service project to purchase 75 new chairs for the 4-H Building.

Most of the old chairs were 30-40 years old and used in the community for lots of events.

4 Putnam County 4-H Building receives 4-H Community Service Grant from the Missouri 4-H Foundation The Putnam County 4-H Clubs are excited about receiving a H Community Service Grant from the Missouri 4-H Foundation for $1,000, made possible by Crader Distributing and Stihldealers.com, as well as DuPont Pioneer, to match a 4-H community service project to purchase 75 new chairs for the 4-H Building. We now have the new chairs & 3 new hanging racks for the chairs and we are so grateful to the 4-H Foundation for their generous contribution! Most of the old chairs were years old and used in the community for lots of events. We are thankful for the matching new chairs that add a great look to our 4-H Building. The compliments have been so nice for all that has been done to the building in the past 2 years. Pictured is our 4-H helpers, Ethen Ryals, Dayton Dunham, Charli & Jarren Ingersoll. They helped Annette Valentine & Katie Ryals unbox the chairs and put together the new racks.

Through Clover Kids clubs, children learn how to get along, share, and work in groups, explore their interests, and build self-confidence.

4-H concept of learning by doing. Fun with Water Invite children to play outside with water. Remind them to bring a swimsuit and towel!

5 Through Clover Kids clubs, children learn how to get along, share, and work in groups, explore their interests, and build self-confidence. Each Clover Kids Corner provides an activity, information or other materials that Clover Kids leaders can use in planning and implementing experiences that introduce five to seven-year olds to the 4-H concept of learning by doing. Fun with Water Invite children to play outside with water. Remind them to bring a swimsuit and towel! Ideas include: Water balloon toss Water painting - provide paint brushes and water in a bucket. Encourage children to "paint" with the water and watch how the water evaporates in the warm sun. Paint rocks, trees, the sidewalk, anything! Car wash - children can bring and wash toy cars and vehicles Water sprinklers Spray bottles Frozen water - ice cubes are refreshing and feel good as they melt in your hands on a hot summer day! Watermelon - a fun and healthy snack after water play activities!
