Mileage will be reimbursed. Contact: FAIR ENTRIES Due th 4-H members MUST attend six club meetings and six hours of project time prior to June 18th to be eligible to show at the Vernon County Youth Fair. When filling out entry forms, you must specify what you are bringing, any item made is not a description. Any item made also must follow the guidelines for the project. Please utilize all lines of the fair entry forms. A separate form for each project area is not needed. Questions?? Don t forget entries for market wether lambs and wether meat goats must be submitted to the Extension Office again this year by ing pictures of the front AND back of each scrapie tags in the ear of each animal. Animals must be nose-printed to be eligible to be exhibited at MSF. Super Teen entries are due to the on th. There will be a Super Teen team meeting at the Fairgrounds to be determined. Cherry, Courthouse Nevada, MO Phone: On the web: Vernon/4h Missouri Sate Fair August 9-19 SMQA TRAINING 4-H members enrolled in a Food Animal/ Livestock Project, including: beef, sheep, swine, dairy cattle, meat and dairy goats, rabbits and poultry must complete the appropriate level of SMQA (Show-Me-Quality-Assurance) certification to be considered a 4-H member in good standing in that project and be able to exhibit at the VCYF. You can take the training online at agebb.missouri.edu/smqa/. Members between the ages of 8-13 must complete the SMQA training twice. Members 14 and older, must have one more final training to be SMQA CERTIFIED. Deadline is JUNE 18th. Health Paper Requirement ALL sheep and goats are required to be vet inspected by fair check-in and MUST provide documentation via the Certification of Veterinary Inspection. Visit your local veterinarian for info. Health papers not available at time of check-in will result in not exhibiting that animal (s) at the VCYF. Examples (pies, cakes, brownies, cup cakes, rice crispy treats). Don t have time to make dessert for your shift at the fair diner? Mary Feldman will be making pies this year. Pies can be ordered by calling Mary at or The cost is $12 per pie and they will be delivered to the fair for you during your shift! All pies are 9 inch deep. 6 Clayton 4-H met on May 8th at the Clayton clubhouse. SMQA info was discussed along with animal project deadlines. New club t-shirts were discussed and tabled until the June meeting. Also discussed were the new diner/pop shack work hours for the club and fair project guidelines. Demonstrations were given by Laurin Dilly, Kelsi Thurston, Gavin Love, Cashton Hoffman, Evan Love and Quentin Love. Snacks were provided by the Kite/Hoffman family. The next meeting will be the Club Project Tour and summer cookout to be held at the Bower home on June 10th. Micala Bower, Reporter and Historian Lone Star 4-H - met on May 6 at the YMCA. Announced upcoming events and county-wide meetings. Members reported project meetings. Next meeting will be the Farm & Project Tour on June 10.
