Tickets for the June 11th year-end performance at the Jubilee Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. are on sale through the Marr-Mac office during regular office hours. (4-7:30 Mon-Thurs & Saturday 9:15-1:00) Reserved Seating Cash/Debit/Credit Adults - $27.00 each (plus gst) Seniors 65+/Youth (11 yrs. and under) $24.00 each (plus gst) Children 2 years and under sitting on a parent lap need a complimentary admission ticket from the office. Students can leave rehearsal once they have completed all their dances. This rehearsal is important so the students can recognize which dance they follow in the show order. We can also plan entrances and exits to prevent interference with other dancers. It is also a test for our music so we don t have any surprises at dress rehearsal. Please be on time, we do stay on schedule. Parents do not watch this rehearsal. To avoid parking lot and studio congestion we request that you drop off and pick up your dancer. Students do not wear costumes to this rehearsal, just regular class attire. 3 COSTUME HANDOUT BEGAN APRIL 24TH Thank-you parents for following our policy for costume handout and clearing your dance accounts at the same time. Costumes can be picked up from Nancy or Kathy in the office. Hair and Makeup instructions are attached to your costume. Makeup, especially for the wee ones is optional and at your discretion as a parent. We suggest a light application of makeup for the little ones due to the bright lights at picture day and on stage which tends to wash out the complexion, however we respect your preference. PROFESSIONAL PHOTO DAYS MONDAY May 29th - SATURDAY JUNE 3rd All students will have their photos taken at the studio with J.R. Photography. The photos will be taken during regular class times. Dancers need to bring their complete costume to the studio for each class each day. Please be early for class so there is time to change before the picture. The picture order form is attached below PLEASE FILL OUT AND SEND THIS FORM WITH PAYMENT ON PICTURE DAY. You will need one form for each dance your child is in. Even if you do not want photos, please have your child attend picture day ready with their costume for the other students who are ordering group pictures. It is also an opportunity for the teachers and parents to ensure that the costumes look the same within the class. EXCEPTION Dancers in Jazz 4/5 & Lyrical 4/5 will have their photos taken on Thursday June 1 st at 7:00 (watch for class ) Cheques payable to J.R. Photography on picture day- NO FORM & PAYMENT NO PICTURE The photographer will not take pictures of students without their order forms (one for each dance they are in) and payment (payments can be combined onto one cheque per family; mark the cheque # on all forms). 5 MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL AT THE JUBILEE AUDITORIUM SUNDAY JUNE 11 Here are the times for each student s stage rehearsal at the Jubilee Auditorium in costume. Makeup is not required for this rehearsal. Please enter the Jubilee through the South entrance. There will be someone there to direct you to your change room. 10:00-11:30 Dances # :00-1:00 Dances # :00-3:00 Dances #29-43 Please arrive on time in costume and ready at your rehearsal time. This rehearsal is for the technicians to set the lighting and sound, and for the students to become familiar with the stage. Dressing room assignments will be ed the week before the performance. Any dancers with less than 3 numbers to change costumes will be assigned a quick-change room at the Jube and will have an assistant. PERFORMANCE - SUNDAY JUNE 11 6:00 P.M. All students need to be back stage at the Jubilee in costume and makeup by 5:15. Please provide your child s hair and makeup supplies. Speak to your teacher regarding hairstyle & makeup requirements. Parents need to pick their child up after the dress rehearsal, take them for something to eat and bring them back to the Theatre in costume & makeup ready by 5:15. Intermediate and advanced dancers who wish to stay backstage between dress rehearsal and show time may bring snacks and dinner to have in their change room. If your child is sitting with you in the audience during the scene they are not dancing in, you will need to purchase them a dancer ticket. All children 2 years and younger that will be sitting on a parent s lap need a complimentary admission ticket from the office. REMINDERS Unless otherwise notified by your teacher, regular classes will be held on the May long weekend on Saturday May 20th, but canceled on Monday May 22. Registration begins Monday June 12 th. CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF TEACHING THE LOVE DANCE! 2018 marks the 50 th anniversary of Marr-Mac teaching the love of dance and music. We are excited to announce that the studio will undergo renovations in August! Marr-Mac has always welcomed parents & dancers feedback as we strive to keep a balance between competitive and recreational programs. Our philosophy to encourage students of all abilities stays foremost in our minds so that all dancers can feel comfortable learning the art of dance. As we plan for next year s dance season we invite you to participate in an online feedback form through our website. Please share your comments with us to help us to continue to serve the dance community by providing a positive and supportive program and atmosphere.
