Duck Tickets Please turn in your Duck Ticket money as soon as possible. Secretary Tuthill asks that you really try to sell all your tickets. The last resort would be to turn them in at the Duck Pond. If you are unable to sell all the tickets, purchase the rest yourself. $ is needed in Duck ticket money to pay for the cash prizes offered. News bites Canalfest Missy Graves and Jim Donovan are stepping down from their co-chairmanship of the Canalfest after this year s extravaganza. They are hoping that someone else will step up to take on this annual project.

Reservation forms will be sent to the clubs in July, so be sure to talk this up at your club and bring along a table full of guests! Address by the DG in July 2013 Credo DG Dennis Comments by... DG Dennis Schonewetter Message from DG Schonwetter The main purpose of a Rotary International District is to provide support, information, and training to the clubs. The people who function as the main points of contact for these services are our dedicated Assistant Governors (AG). It is they who are in frequent contact with their clubs and I encourage each club to take full advantage of their knowledge, experience, and willingness to help out. The AGs are: Roger Skinner (Area 1 Adirondack Foothills, Dolgeville, Herkimer, Kuyahoora Valley, Little Falls, & West Winfield). Jeff Jones (Area 2 Greater Utica Sunrise, New Hartford, No. Utica-Whitestown, Oriskany Falls, Rotary eclub NY1, Sauquoit, Utica, & Waterville). Jana Haldenwang (Area 3 Camden, Canastota, Chittenango, Hamilton, Oneida, Rome, & Sherrill). Phyllis Danks (Area 4 Cazenovia, DeWitt, Eastwood, Fayetteville-Manlius, Onondaga North, Syracuse, Syracuse Inner City, & Syracuse Sunrise). Marv Joslyn (Area 5 Baldwinsville, Cato, Fulton, Fulton Sunrise, Oswego, & Oswego Sunrise). Ed Helinski (Area 6 Auburn, Aurora, Camillus, Marcellus, Moravia, Skaneateles, Skaneateles Sunrise, & Tully). The other District Officers who are great information resources include PDG PJ Scott (Trainer & District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair) Pete Cardamone (District Secretary) Sue Reisman (District Treasurer). Our Credo Editor, PDG Ward Vuillemot devotes many hours each month to produce this superb District newsletter that provides so much current information about the District to all of us! Last, but certainly not least:

7 Our Past District Governors (PDGs). These devoted men and women are wonderful sources of Rotary knowledge. If they cannot answer your question immediately, they will know who to call to get what you need. Use the PDGs as mentors, advisors, knowledge sources, or whatever because they are an invaluable asset of this District. Again, thank you for this opportunity to serve the Rotarians of District I am privileged to be able to work with such community & world volunteers! From the July 2013 Credo Rotary Leadership Institute Save the Date Oct. 26th by... DGE Deb Gilsson, RLI D7150 chair The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) is a grassroots, multidistrict leadership development program whose mission is to strengthen Rotary Clubs through quality leadership education. RRLI seeks to have Rotary Clubs in its member districts identify those Rotarians who appear to have the potential for future club leadership (not necessarily club presidents) and to provide those so identified with a quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills so very important in voluntary organizations. Having leadership skills does not alone assure good Rotary leadership. An effective Rotary leader must ALSO have Rotary knowledge, perspective about where Rotary has been, where it is now going and a vision of what Rotary can be. RLI PHILOSOPHY Rotary District 7150 will be hosting a session of the Rotary Leadership Institute on Saturday, Oct. 26th, at the Vernon-Verona Sherrill High School. Leadership classes will be provided in Levels I, II, III, and Graduate. The Institute will begin with a participant check-in at 7:30 a.m. The classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will run until 3:30. A light breakfast, lunch, and coffee break refreshments will be provided. The cost for the Institute is $75.00 until October 20, 2013 after which date the cost will increase to $ Those Rotarians looking to participate in this RLI should register on - line at Rotary Club of Rome contact information: Rome Rotary, PO Box 655, Rome, NY Rotary Website: Newsletter Address: RomeRotaryNewsletter@gmail.com For any questions (if you need an immediate response): Secretary@romerotaryny.org Find us on Facebook: Submit your participation points here: Submit Rotary Participation Report From your editor, Jeannie L Packer
