2 Page 2! Alex Elliot Josh Miller Alex Elliot was born on May 2, 1995, in Graham, Texas. This is Alex's first year at Meridian High School. Her parents' names are Mike Duraso and Judy Elliot and her brother's name is Nicholas Elliot. Alex is currently participating in one act play. She is not yet sure of her plans after high school and is also currently looking for a job. Some of her hobbies are reading, and hanging out with her friends and her favorite food is a Bacon Cheeseburger. Boys' Basketball W-L Records Jr. HIgh Gold: 2-3 7th: 4-4 8th: 4-4 High School JV: 4-9 V: 6-6 Josh Miller was born on December 10, 1995, in Temple, Texas. His parents' names are Joe and Gail Robles. His sisters are Stevie Robles and Valerie Howel. Josh participates in football, basketball, and Ready Writing in Academic UIL at MHS. Josh plans on going to Crown College after high school. Some of his hobbies are reading, drawing, and just chillin'. Page By: Olivia Mosoba Meridian ISD will host a food pantry of fresh produce and other groceries once a month for students and their families. The food will be distributed immediately after school on the second Wednesday of each month. At the December food pantry there were 547 individuals served and 135 families served. The next distribution will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2013 at the Meridian Elementary campus. More information will be posted at a later date on the MISD web site as well as information coming home with students. The Tarrant County Food Bank makes the food pantry possible

3 Page 3 Kelby Allen Wayne Lewis McClellan Wolver Hightower III was born January 6, 1994, in Navarro, Texas. His Parents are Stayce and Jeffery HIghtower, and he also lives with his sister Faith and his little cousin Skyler. After high school Kelby plans on becoming a diesel mechanic. To do so he plans on attending Lincoln College in Grand Prairie. Kelby's hobbies include shooting, fishing, hanging with friends, and driving long distances. His favorites include: Music- Country and rock Food- Bacon Cheeseburgers Foot wear- Boots Weekend activity- Hanging with friends, working, or going to Corsicana. FFA News The FFA can food drive raised over 105 pounds of cans. Also they placed third in the parade with their FFA float. Joseph Madson was born February 24, 1995, in Waterloo, Iowa. His parents are Andrea and Darren Dunn and Steve and Kerry Madson. Joseph also has a twin sister, Mykala. Joseph plays the trumpet in the Meridian band of Gold and also participates in FFA, NHS, PHP, and Academic UIL. After school Joseph wants to go to Tarelton where his goal is to get smarter. His hobby is art and his favorites include: Book/Movie- Harry Potter Weather- Snow Video game- Skyrim He also enjoys hanging with friends. Mykala Madson was born February 24, 1995, in Waterloo, Iowa. Her parents are Andrea and Darren Dunn and Steve and Kerry Madson. Mykala and Joseph are twins. Mykala has been attending Meridian ISD since Kindergarten and participates in Cross country, Basketball, Track, NHS, PHP, and is the drum major in band. She also competes in academic UIL. Her events are Literary Critisism, Current Events, and Social Studies. Mykala's hobbies are Reading, biking, and hanging out with friends and family. Her favorites are Chocolate, Christmas time, snow, pepperoni pizza,chick flicks, Harry Potter, basketball, band, and the color purple. After high school she plans to attend a 4 year college in Texas.

4 Page 4 Hannah Kelley Hannah Kelley was born on November 9, 1994 to Jennifer and Mark Kelley. She has one brother, Brock Kelley. She has been attending Meridian ISD since the 4th grade. Hannah's extracurricular activities are basketball, softball, FFA, NHS, PHP, Academic UIL: calculator and science. She also did band for 2 years where she played the clarinet. Her plans after high school are to become a veterinarian. She is going to West Texas A&M. Hannah's hobbies include reading, hunting, fishing, shooting her bow, showing lambs, and anythng in FFA. Her favorites are seafood, coke, the movie "Secretariat", Taylor Swift, sleeping, the Colts football team, Texas Rangers, and Baylor Basketball. Blue camo and bling are her favorite things and blue is also her favorite color. Her favorite freshman is Aryn Norris. Page By: Pablo Flores Kasidi Gorneau Kasidi Gorneau was born in July 11, 1995, in Fredericksburg, Texas to Dwayne Gorneau and Kandis Stovall. She has a brother, Westin Gorneau, and has been attending Meridian ISD for 8 years. Her extracurricular activities are FFA, PHP, and Academic UIL. Her events are Spelling & Vocab, CX Debate, Student Congress, Prose(11th grade), and OAP(11th grade). Her plans after school are: go to law school to become a Criminal Attorney. She wants to go to college at Texas Christian University, and she wants to work at a Private Law Firm outside of Texas. She currently holds jobs after school as a part time hostess at Rocco's and at The Grill in Lakeway, Texas. Kasidi's hobbies are; reading, archery, shopping & going to concerts. Her favorite TV show is "Pretty Little Liars" and her favorite thing to do is sleep. JUNIOR HIGH ONE ACT PLAY The Junior High One Act Play AL- ICE IN WONDERLAND gave a public performance on Saturday, December 15th at 6:oo pm. At Academic UIL District competition last week, they received 3rd place. Darcy Wyatt and Carson Gebhardt received all-star cast awards. Seth Riney and William Edwards received Honorable mention all-star cast awards. Sydney Purcell received an award for outstanding technician. Other members of the cast and crew included: Andrew Berg, Brady Glass, Mackenzie Errington, Kate Starnes, Kelley Turner, Jacob Brown, Angel Puckett, William Wehmeyer, Skylar McClellan and Kaden Fields. Mrs. Coverdale said "I am very impressed with the commitment and enthusiasm of this cast." Congratulations to the cast and crew of ALICE IN WONDERLAND! Girls Basketball Varsity girls are 5-9 for the year. JV girls are 6-6 for the year. JH-8th grades won the Hico tournament and are 8-1 for the year.

5 Page 5 Amber Grubbs was born on May 7, 1994 in Clifton, Texas. She's been in Meridian ISD since 1st grade. Her parents are Walter Grubbs Jr. and Rhonda Grubbs. Amber has 5 brothers and sisters (Rance Grubbs, Brittany Grubbs, Faith Grubbs, Patrick Bellringer, and Christopher Bellringer). She plans to go to college after high school, but is undecided as to what college to go to. Her hobbies are hanging out with friends, sleeping, and walking around town. Her favorites include foods: pizza and Roman Noodles; movies: "Fire Proof", "Flicka", and "Twilight;" music: country; and sports: football. Quote of the Month: Tyler Browning was born on February 18, 1995 in Beaumont, Texas. He has attended Meridian ISD for 8 years. Tyler s parents are Lynn Rountree. He has 2 brothers and one sister (Chance Browning, Rebeca Browning, and Andrew Elizondo). His plans after high school is to become a welder through the college at T.S.T.C. He plans to work at a oil Rig overseas, or power plant. Tyler is currently holding a job out in the country working for Charles Howard. His hobbies are boxing, games, reading, drawing, and writing.
