2 DATE: September 2017 VENUE: SKW Fields and Municipal Swimming Pool, Olympia, Windhoek EXHIBITION TIMES: Thursday, 07 September :00 to 21:00 Friday, 08 September :00 to 22:00 Saturday, 09 September :00 to 23:00 VISITORS ENTRANCE: Single entry ADULTS: N$60 single entry - Thursday, 07 September N$60 single entry - Friday, 08 September N$120 single entry - Saturday, 09 September N$150 (for all 3 days) CHILDREN IN UNIFORM: Free of charge CHILDREN UNDER 7YRS AND PENSIONERS: Free of charge ABOUT THE EXHIBITION Namibia Media Holdings intends to launch the first Community Games in Namibia from 07 to 09 September This exhibition will have 3 focus points namely the career exhibition, community games/sports and music spring festival. 1. CAREER EXHIBITION: September 2017 Career exhibition targets the school leaving learners looking for suitable line of studies, students looking to redirect their line of studies and those looking to enter the employment market. The objective is to assist these groups to discover the career they love, that is meant for them and plan the path straight towards it. Information sessions, workshops and networking events will be held during the career exhibition to help this groups plan for life after school/university, build a resume and talk to representatives from various companies on career building. Question to be answered at the career exhibition: Have you researched the graduate programs? Do you know what is involved in the application process? Does every graduate or professional school require an entrance exam? Can you afford it? Where do I go for funding for my studies? The bottom line is that not everyone needs a graduate or professional school degree to pursue a challenging profession. The best way to find out is to ask questions and find the right information to help sort out decisions and answers to map out the future. The focus will not only be on degree careers but various vocational/technical careers options as well. 2

3 Presenters will include topics like: (Thursday, 07 September & Friday, 08 September) 1. My Brand - My Designs. Owning your own clothing label isn t as farfetched as you would think. 2. Living the dream Making the environment a cleaner place 3. How to become a playwright, with an award winning film. These are some of the steps I took. 4. Engineering the future. My amazing career as engineer. 5. So you want to work in the outdoors? 6. Exam time: Top 5 study snacks. 7. Why certain procrastination tools are useful. 8. Ten tips to turn a CV into an interview. 9. Real World of Sport - Career or Not? Focus on sport will be part of the Expo and Sports legends/hero will be part of the activities and presentations on Friday, 08 September and Saturday, 09 September The career exhibition will include the following exhibitors: Universities from Namibia and abroad including distance education institutions. Technical institutions. Financial institutions. Car dealership for entry level vehicles under N$ Ministry of Home Affairs. Embassy of South Africa. Insurance institutions. Air Namibia. VET NQA We expect over 30 exhibitors. 3

4 COMMUNITYGAMES Fun & Fast 2. COMMUNITY GAMES/SPORTS: 09 September 2017 Community Games/Sports is based on the principle of communities/schools competing against each other over a weekend where a sport brings communities closer. The sports codes to be considered are the following. Super 7 s Rugby Fast 5 Netball Quick 5 Soccer High-5 Hockey Beach-4 Volleyball Cheerleader dance-offs Fastest 100m grass dash 50m and 100m swimming races Tennis Eight community teams will be invited to participate at these games, comprising of 5 community teams from Windhoek and 4 from the rest of the country. The idea is for two/six schools in a community to come together and form a franchise team who participates under this franchise and that the community in the franchise will work together and bond as a community. Children participating must be U/17 or younger. This will also contribute towards the development of sport in general. Each community franchise team will have a managing/organizing school and 2-5 participating schools. Each franchise must elect the following number of scholars under 17 for the tournament: Super 7 s Rugby : 10 players - (SKW Fields) Fast 5 Netball : 7 players (girls) - (SKW Fields) Quick 5 Soccer : 7 players (boys) - (SKW Fields) High-5 Hockey : 14 players (7 boys and 7 girls) - (SKW Fields) Beach-4 Volleyball : 6 players (3 boys and 3 girls mixed) - (SKW Fields) Cheerleader dance-offs : 8 girls/boys - (SKW Fields) Fastest 100m grass dash : 1 girl/1 boy - (SKW Fields) 50m and 100m swimming races : 4 boys and 4 girls - (Municipal Swimming Pool) Tennis : 1 boy and 1 girl - (SKW Fields) In total 32 boys and 30 girls being a total of 62 children from each franchise. There can be 1 coach involved with each sport code. So in total there is 70 members for each franchise plus 1 manager. In total over 1000 children are involved. Our franchise teams are as follows: 4

6 Summer festival The component of summer festival exhibition is to bring balance of festivity to the entire event. It will include elements of entry level vehicle dealerships to exhibit, various music performances, technology, culinary and drinks showcasing. The set will present itself to a family festival outing with entertainment, food and drinks to close off the exhibition.
