Her love for the theatre began at a very young age as she dabbled in singing, dancing and acting, which inevitably led to deeprooted passion for the arts. Stacie has extensive experience on and offstage as well as in the classroom and has been developing her skills for the theatre and artistic environment since the age of 7. Stacie completed her B.A(H) in Drama in Education and the Community with a minor in psychology as well as her Bachelor of Education at University of Windsor. Stacie s educational and theatre experience includes acting, directing, movement and voice, theatre for young audiences, theatre for social justice, story drama, process drama, improvisation and theatre history. Stacie s onstage roles include appearances in TK s Annie (2000) UCC s Children of Eden (2004) UCC Alumni and Friends production of Into The Woods (2007), TK s Chicago (2010) The Sound of Music (2011) and White Christmas (2012). Her involvement with Pure has included direction for Godspell (2010) High School Musical 2: Onstage. (2010) Willy Wonka Jr. (2011) and Only Make Believe (2012) Stacie s experience with Pure began in May (2009) and includes instruction in drama, triple threat, the Improv Team and private acting lessons, as well as assistant direction/ stage management for all Pure recitals. Stacie hopes to inspire a passion for the arts in her students. She works to help them build confidence and a strong sense of self through theatre. She encourages her students to take risks, try new things and experiment with different perspective. She is inspired by the open and creative minds of her students and hopes to instill stage techniques, tools for life, self-awareness and a willingness to enter a world of imagination. To love what you do and know that it matters how could anything be more fun? Katherine Graham Welcome to the Team, Dakota! Pure is thrilled to introduce Dakota Hodgson to the PURE staff. Dakota has proven herself countless times by substituting classes, volunteering in the classroom and to do choreography, by leading her teammates within the Competitive Team dynamic, stepping up to the challenge without fail and being a stellar student at PURE for 5 years. Dakota has an absolutely excellent rapport with students and certainly possesses the skills and talent required to be a quality teacher. She continues her own dance education but also is ready for more responsibility. Dakota will be loved by all. We are very fortunate to have her skills and talent! Welcome Dakota! Inspire talent. Develop abilities. Love the Arts.
2 Dakota s Bio Dakota is thrilled to be joining the Pure staff and is looking forward to sharing her passion, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence with all of her students and the entire Pure Dance community. A competitive dancer, award winning gymnast and honor student, Dakota brings with her many years of competitive training and love for the sport. Up to and including this year she has been the recipient of multiple regional and national scholarships and awards for both dance and choreography. Dakota was selected as Senior Magic Performer of the Weekend at LA Dance Magic competition in Michigan, was chosen to apprentice for Melissa Williams on the Extreme Tour, made Adrenaline Crew and has represented Pure twice at Nationals. Along with recognition for her dancing she has gotten the chance to work with and learn from very prestigious choreographers. Locally, Dakota has choreographed for Dances in the Park and her high school dance team, which placed first place at Dancefest Nationals. Dakota has an immense love for dance and hopes to share her passion with all those she teaches and those who surround her. She would like to thank the Pure management team for this opportunity and couldn t be more pleased to be working for such a wonderful group of people. PURE PEOPLE MAKING IT BIG! PURE Dancers Jocelyn Jones, Jocelyn Smit and Hannah Nicholls watch Grace Hodgson back flip in the LA Dance Magic, Regional 1st Place Overall Hip Hop performance The Team performed in outstanding fashion this past weekend. It is impressive to know that Chatham Kent can produce such talent and work ethic. Competing against dance studios from the USA at events like this force the team to raise the bar to such a high level and the team stepped up and met the challenge! said PURE Academy Coach Melissa Coleman. For me it really is a pleasure to work with these young ladies and men very proud of their accomplishments. PURE s next action will at the Hollywood Vibe Regional Dance convention in Cleveland Ohio March 22nd through March 24th. PURE SURVEY 2013 RESULTS! I would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the customer survey that was distributed a few weeks back. PURE is now in its 5th year of business and we strive for all of our customers to be fully satisfied and pleased with the service that PURE provides. Please note that the complete survey results will be available at the front desk should you wish to see it. One of the concerns noted form the survey was the price associated with theatre events and recitals. From the very beginning it has been a goal of PURE to create exceptional performance opportunities for our boys and girls. The Capitol theatre is the only facility in Chatham-Kent that can support our large cast sizes in both the dressing rooms and the wing spaces backstage in a functional and safe manner. We believe the Capitol theatre logistics, stage space, sound and lighting is one of the reasons why the recitals and shows look and sound the way they do! We know that our teachers and students love the space from the performance side of the equation. While it has been noted from the survey that both the Christmas show and year-end recitals are appreciated from a quality perspective it is also important to note that these quality productions come with a cost. We believe the Capitol theatre offers the best opportunity for both the performers as well as those who enjoy the show from the seats! Please continue to support the performers at PURE by attending the recitals and Christmas show. Please note that a broader range of ticket prices will be made available in 2013 depending on where you select your seats. Finally we are looking forward to another exciting change in 2013, which will be the leveling and language descriptions associated with all classes at PURE! Class names, age groupings and class opportunities will be streamlined and consistent for all to understand. (i.e. Level 1 Ballet, Level 1 Tap, Level 1 Jazz will be for students aged 5 through 6) Thanks again for taking the time to complete the survey and for taking the time to read this summary letter. We appreciate your feedback and we appreciate you choosing PURE as your service provider for a performing arts education. We are grateful for your support! Sincerely, Kent Willmore Results from the survey have helped to confirm many of the items that we were hoping our customers would appreciate. Exceptional scores were noted concerning the quality of the instruction in the classroom, quality of the administration, hours of operation, performance opportunities and the quality of the PURE recitals.
