5 Motion: To accept the tabled financial statements for the year to date and approve the payment of the invoiced accounts Moved: Bruce Boland Seconded: Shane Mills CARRIED GENERAL BUSINESS: 1. Qld Cricket Cam Worley & Matt McEwan (see report attached to minutes) Kate Davies has taken on role to build relationships with State and Local Government to get results about green space, both maintenance and obtaining new areas. New market QC development officer in Moreton area. QC is offering a cash prize for working with Women and Girls to support the sport. Matt will send about it to Secretary to forward on to clubs. Secretary advised QC staff that he sends information to Club Delegates but he cannot ensure that the information is passed on to Club Executives and then to club members. He hopes that this is the case as it is the Delegates role to do this. 2. Rep Cricket Dates for Trials U12, 13, 14 There is a 5 Feb 2016 cut-off date for nominations for U12. The trial day for U12 is 14 Feb 2016 and 21 Feb as alternative if rain. There will be a 12 Feb 2016 cut-off date for nominations for U13 and U14. Trial dates for U13 & U14 are 28 Feb 2016 and 6 March as alternative if rain. John Powell said the selectors for each age group are being notified. QJC will no longer be holding an Under 16 championship. For this reason, Brisbane North will hold an information evening near the beginning of the season for Anstey La Frantz players and parents to provide information about the Lords Taverners competition and the Premier Grade clubs in the Brisbane North area. Lords Taverners coaches from these clubs will also be invited along to help answer questions and to put faces to names for the players and parents. The grade clubs will also be invited to attend the Anstey La Frantz games. The results for the Representative season have been good: Impact Challenge U15/16 team did well at BBC Toowong, winning second division. U14 and U16 Championship teams won the State title. U12 & U13 Championship teams both came second by a very small margin. U15 Championship team came in 5 th U12 Ian Healy cup was won by Eastern Districts with BN teams coming in 2 nd, 4 th and 5 th U13 Ballina team did well but were unplaced U13 Ipswich team came 2 nd U14 Development Maroon and Blue teams were unplaced. There were letters received about the good behaviour and sportsmanship shown at Ian Healy cup, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich carnivals. 3. Association Structure The most recent change to the structure of the association as agreed by the Management Committee at its last meeting was explained to delegates including the roles of the Director of Finance and Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association Inc. Page 5 of 10
6 Administration, Director of Cricket Operations and the Director of Coaching and the separation of committees amongst these three portfolios. With the growth of the association there is now a greater requirement for volunteer participation in a number of the committees within the three portfolios. Delegates are asked to canvas their clubs for any members who would like to be involved, particularly if they have skills that could improve the quality of service that the association provides the players e.g. contract administration, construction, facilities management, MyCricket. Action Item: Delegates to canvas their clubs for any members who would like to be involved in Management Committees 4. MyCricket The MyCricket Points loss summary from Ian Rushton was tabled. A full listing of teams who lost points for Round 4 & 5 will be attached to the minutes. Clubs are reminded that competition points will be stripped from teams who do not put in their results and the player stats into MyCricket. He also highlighted that where day 2 of a game was a washout, the officials should enter into MyCricket the stats that were recorded from day 1 and part of day 2 as it all counts towards a players stats. 5. Draw Bruce said there were no major concerns with the Post Xmas Draw. It was delayed by 2 days due to a couple of clubs not complying with the draw schedule and failing to lodge team nominations on time, which meant extra effort to chase these up. Team numbers again have increased over last year. Even ignoring the Super Six increase of 27 teams, the other age groups have increased by 22 teams. Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association Inc. Page 6 of 10
7 As expected, the number in the U13 age group has dropped with the moving of Grade 7 to High School, due to more players being involved in Term 1 cricket at Private schools.
