4 GENERAL BUSINESS: 1. Qld Cricket No one from QC was in attendance. 2. Girls Cricket update Summary: Girls Cricket Competition in post-xmas (GCC1.2) will expand to include a minimum of 8 teams, however, I am optimistic of getting to 10 if Valleys are willing to expand to 4 teams; Establishment of key personal at the club/s is important to making girls cricket work; BNJCA will have to consider the training of a new generation of coaches and managers to support girls cricket; Holiday Camps: The following details were confirmed. Camps will be held at Albany Creek, Sandgate and Valleys. They will be held 17-19th of January Cost set at $99. Need to see what numbers signup and we may then consolidate at Albany Creek Cricket Club in the September 2017 holidays. Website: The acquisition of bnjcagirls.org.au and bnjcagirls.com.au has happened and the domain names have been acquired and the website bnjcagirls.org.au is now up and running. 3. Draw & Grounds Committee A couple of games were moved due to asbestos removal and Xmas functions. Last Saturday 26 Nov, some rain meant 2 games weren t played at Curlew Park. Secretary was not notified of any other games being washed out. Alternatives were available but no one rang to ask. Steve Casey spoke to Strathpine West SS about installing a pitch on their oval making it suitable for U13. He has approval to get quotes. Alf Shaw Park is being hopefully upgraded by MBRC to a wider pitch with synthetic covering suitable for U14. The Lakes Cricket Club have got quotes for 3 grounds in their area, Bounty Boulevard State School, Mango Hill SS and Aurora Boulevard Park. Qld Cricket will be asked to assist in providing finance. 4. Trial games John Powell advised that they were held on Sunday 27 Nov against BEARS. U12 were played, U13 were washed out at Curlew Park. U15 & U13 games against BEARS were played at Everton DCC after game was abandoned at Ormeau. 5. MyCricket points reduction Round Games adjusted U13 Love - Toombul Blue V's Wilston North Green. He said Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association is at a loss as to what more we can do to prompt officials to complete their jobs properly and enter the stats. We have tried instructional help booklets, extending time for entry, restricting time for entry and, at the instigation of the clubs, losing points for non-entry. All has been to no avail. Clubs must shoulder the responsibility to follow up with relevant team officials, using the game lists in these minutes to find out why so many are not being completed. He asked that bnjca send around to clubs that they should get keys from schools. He wanted the Wet weather procedure, which is on the website, to be clearly spelled out to teams as to how a decision should be reached about calling off play. Glyn Netto Ian Reeves welcomed him back after his serious health scare and hoped he was on the mend.
