As the days get shorter and the temperatures start falling out of the 100 s, call for a tee time And don t forget to mark your calendars for our upcoming tournaments: Qualifying for the 19 Man starts September 1 st LGA Scramble on September 8 th Adult Beginner s Golf Clinic September 8 th, 15 th, 22 nd, 29 th Ladies Club Championship on September 15 th and 16 th Sunday Scramble on September 16 th Baylor Scott and White on September 28 th Boys and Girls Club Tournament on October 5 th Member/Member on October 14 th 19 Man Shoot Out on October 21 st LGA Couples Spooktacular Tournament on October 28 th Adult Teen Challenge on November 9 th Dates for the Men s Club Championship have not yet been set. Please notice and respect the ropes on the driving range designating areas you may hit from and areas that are resting/healing. We also have on order yardage markers that we feel will enhance the range. As you may have noticed, per several consultant s advisement and the board s approval, we have taken down a couple of trees that were partially shading the greens. The greens need to be in full sun, year round, to be at their optimum and these trees were blocking the sun part of the day. The board has also approved repair of the pump station, allowing for an automated irrigation system once again. Now Jose is having to turn each station on and off every 20 to 30 minutes. This takes up a large portion of Jose s time. In addition, turning the water on and off is very hard on the pipes with the water pressure going up and down. This vibration is a contributing factor to many of the irrigation leaks we have. Continued on Page 2

2 Continued from Page 1 If you see Jose, Freddie and Rita please give them a big thank-you for all their hard work on the course. They are doing a tremendous job and have put in a lot of effort keeping our course maintained this summer. The pool will remain open through September 30 th, but please note the new closing time of 7:00 pm. The pool will be open the same hours as the pro shop. The pool house concession stand will be closed during the week due to workers conflicts with school activities. However, the pro shop is always open for your convenience. Minda is doing a superior job of coordinating activities for the Club House! Our next Ladies Luncheon will be held on Thursday, September 27 st at 11:30am. Jennifer Hermann of Hermann s Furniture will be presenting a program on How to Get Ready for the Fall Season Ahead in Time for Hosting for Family and Friends. It is sure to be a hit! We will be holding a Happy Hour on Friday, September 7 th, a Get Together Brenham Luncheon on September 26 th, Book Club, Bridge, and a private party all in September. As you can see, we have a variety of events and activities planned for your enjoyment. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with each event and hope you will make plans to participate in as many activities as possible. Looking forward to seeing you at the Club! The board voted a member could use a club cart IF AVAILABLE at no charge for ONE WEEK while their cart is being repaired. The member is to pay for the rental cart after one week. The Board expects us to adhere to this policy. Please help to enforce this policy as necessary. 8 CREDIT POLICY Accounts 30 days past due will have their charging privileges suspended until their account is paid in full. Once the past due balance is paid, charging privileges will be reextended. Accounts 60 days past due will be posted and members will not be allowed to use any Club facilities until their account is paid in full.
