1 SIR WESTGATE BRANCH 125 July 2016 A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOR RETIRED MEN Devoted to the Promotion of Independence and Dignity of Retirement 3 rd Tuesday of each month except July 21 ANNUAL BBQ! Three Flames Restaurant 1547 Meridian Ave., San Jose CA Executive Committee Meeting 10:30 a.m. Fellowship Hour 11 a.m. Lunch at 12 noon Big SIR Message Big SIR Message We had several first time guests at our last luncheon and if we are lucky they will each submit a membership application and join our branch. Most of these guests showed up because Grant Beech saw them at a golf course, described our golf program, handed them one of our invitation cards and asked them to join us at a branch meeting and consider joining. Every member of our branch should carry a few of these cards and give them to men who might be prospective members. (Cards are available at the badge table just as you enter our banquet room.) Remember a firsttime guest gets a free lunch and if he joins our branch, his sponsor will get a SIR golf hat. (By the way the free lunch is only for guests when someone joins at the next meeting they have to buy their own lunch.) If you look at the Credits listing on the right-hand side of this page, you will see a few changes. We now list the Branch Officers and Directors together since they are all members of our Branch Executive Committee. We have added Branch Advisors and Director of Golf. Ed Metevia, Larry Peck and Chuck Waggoner have worked in the background for many years serving as de facto branch advisors and we wanted to give them some special recognition. The same is true for Roger Danielson who has headed up our branch golf program for many years. Remember that our July luncheon is a barbeque at the Santa Clara Elks club. There are fun games and lots of food and drink. Buy a pair of tickets and bring your significant other I ll see you there.
