Couples Golf: SUMMER LEAGUE The 2009 Bentwood Couple s Summer League will offer various formats and optional dinner following play. Couples must be made up of one male and one female player; however, they do not have to be your spouse! Couples may change from event to event and you do not have to participate in every event. Points will be distributed for participation plus points for placing in each event. Entry Fee: $7 per player + cart fee ($5 to prize pool for that event, $2 to End of Season prize pool) 6:00pm Shotgun Sign up for each event in the Golf Shop. SUMMER LEAGUE KICK-OFF Thursday, May 7 th Mulligan Scramble The team will play a scramble and players will receive a mulligan on each hole to be used for any of their shots! Men must use their 3 wood and even number clubs, ladies must use their driver and odd number clubs. SUMMER LEAGUE TOURNAMENTS Thursday, May 21 st Texas Scramble Couples paired together switch partners and play a scramble format. Thursday, June 11 th Monte Carlo Scramble Dice will be distributed to each couple prior to play. Couples will hit their drives off the tee and before leaving the tee they will roll the die! Even number = use ladies drive, Odd number = use mens drive. Thursday, June 25 th Alternating Shots/Both Putt Men tee off on the odd holes, ladies on the even holes, players then alternate shots until they are on the green, both players putt. I have been blessed to be a part of the Bentwood team since August of Being a college student at Angelo State University, I spend a majority of my time and energy in school, but my passion is mentoring children. In addition to countless baby-sitting jobs, I have been employed as a gymnastics instructor for Concho Valley Gymnastics and a summer camp counselor for Camp Grady Spruce. A personal priority of mine is to insure the safety of all children. To fulfill this commitment, I am currently certified in CPR and life guarding. 4 Bentwood Summer Tennis Camps GOLF, TENNIS & SWIM (GTS) Golf, Tennis & Swim Camp is Bentwood s most popular camp! This is a fun and exciting camp for beginner to intermediate level golf and tennis players from the ages of 5 to 12 years old. Participants can expect to learn basic skills in tennis and golf from our professional staff in the first two and a half hours, then finish up at the pool with lunch, which is included in the camp cost, and a free swim for the last hour. This is Bentwood s most popular camp so register as soon as possible to ensure your spot! When: Tuesdays through Fridays, 9:00am-1:00pm Cost: $120mem/$140non per session I. June 9-12 II: June III: July IV: August JR. TENNIS LESSONS Junior Tennis Lessons are designed for the beginner to intermediate-level junior tennis players ages 5-12 years old. Participants can expect to learn basic stroke mechanics, coordination skills, keeping score, match-play, etc. This camp teaches the FUNdamentals while keeping the kids entertained with fun and games. The kids groups and curriculum will be based on age and ability. When: Tuesdays-Fridays only, 9:00-10:00am Cost: $40/mem, $55/non per session I: June 2-5 II: June III: June 30-July 3 IV: July 7-10 V: July VI: Aug 4-7 JR. COMPETITION GROUP This camp is for kids ages 8-14 who have the desire to become tournament players. This 2 hr., 30 min. camp will be a much more intensive workout than the hour junior lessons. This camp provides the training necessary to step up to the next level and become competitive tournament players with technical drills, situational and match play. This year s camp will be structured around weekly concepts with the technical court and situational-play courts designed specifically for those concepts. In the modern tennis game, you can t be a competitor without fitness, so we will also have tennis specific conditioning daily. This year we will have several dual matches with area programs to help improve play in pressure situations and to better prepare for tournament play.
