5 Structuring your Outing Types of outing play - You ll have many options to choose from - your outing coordinator can help. Here are the two most popular. Shotgun Best Ball Scramble is the most popular, fastest and easiest type of play. All four players tee off; the team selects the best shot and plays from that position. The process continues until the hole is completed. Please note: availability of shotgun starts is limited. Reserved Tee- Time Tournament. This format is the best for a smaller group. Each participant is given a specific tee-time and play begins at hole number one. Your group can decide if a best ball, or individual scores format will be in effect. Handicapping players. To make play enjoyable for golfers of every skill level you may consider using a handicapping system. For one time events, a chart is used to subtract a specific number of holes/strokes for a players score. This levels the playing field and helps less experienced golfers enjoy their round, and most importantly become eligible for any low score prizes that may be part of your event. Outing options You can customize your outing with any or all of the following options. Remember, if you would like to add a special type of event just ask - we ll do our best to accommodate your needs. For a low additional fee you can start your outing off right with a bucket of balls for each player. Club Rental: Need clubs? We have a limited number of rental sets for your use. Promotional items: Let us do the work for you. Tee-shirts, balls, tees, towel or just about anything you can image can be arranged for. Your group will love getting a reminder of their great day on the links that includes your groups logo or event name. Golf Carts: Non-golfers in your group? Arrange for extra carts for officials, photographers or others (based on availability). Hole in One Package: An exciting and memorable addition to any event Professional Tips: A PGA professional will work with your group at the practice facility offering tips and insight on the course you re about to play. 7 Conveniently located in Chicago s Northwest side, Indian Boundary is Forest Preserve Golf s most popular course. Redesigned by renowned golf architect Dick Nugent, Indian Boundary is a track suited for all levels of golfers. With its heavily-wooded layout and strategically placed water and sand, the course is both scenic and challenging. You ll find that golfing at Indian Boundary offers a great golf experience. The course is named after Chick Evans who in addition to being the first amateur golfer to win both the U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur Open, founded the Chick Evans Scholarship program for caddies. The Chicago River cuts right through the center of the course offering beautiful scenery and a formidable obstacle for golfers who play here. Named after Prize fighter Joe Louis, Riverdale s Joe Louis The Champ Golf Course is a tournament favorite because of its championship layout. A challenging course to begin with, the signature 614 yard, par five 7th hole (the second longest par five in the Chicagoland area) as well as The Champ s large undulating greens raise the stakes. Joe Louis has three sets of tees, 52 sand traps and occasional water. Routed deep in Chicago s history, you ll find The Champ to be a formidable foe just as the former Heavyweight Champion of the World himself did during the many rounds he played here. 8 River Oaks name says it all. With the Little Calumet River winding through this south suburban course water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes. You ll use every club in your bag as you face the challenges of River Oaks. Not only will you have to contend with the water, but you ll find 58 strategically placed sand traps throughout the course. The Chicago River and mature trees create a beautiful back drop for your golf round. Edgebrook s signature 5th hole is a 93 yard par three with an elevated green. This hole is sure to test your skill. Edgebrook is the ideal course for anyone looking to play a quick and enjoyable round. Named after Daniel Burnham, who is credited with developing much of the structure of the City of Chicago, and recently featured in Golf Digest, Burnham Woods has some of the biggest cottonwood trees in the state. 9 Meadowlark is a challenging 9-hole course located minutes from Oakbrook, Lombard and Downers Grove in west suburban Hinsdale. Trees are ever present and as with most of Forest Preserve Golf s courses you ll be sure to spot a great deal of wildlife, The par is five, 555 yard sixth hole is just one of the pleasures that await you on this 3,333 yard track. If you only have time for nine holes, yet want a full golf experience, then Meadowlark is the place for you. The par yard 5th hole is certainly a challenge. Big hitters may be tempted to go for the green on this hole and clear the water but a sharply undulating green just may result in a costly penalty. Only ten minutes from Downtown, this is a perfect place for a nine hole outing. We ll work with you to select the course and structure an event that s right for your group.

11 General Information General Information How do I reserve a date? It s easy to reserve a date for your event: Contact our Director or Sales, or the Head Golf Professional at the Forest Preserve Golf course you prefer. You ll be able to check availability and reserve your preferred date. A $250 deposit is all that s required and the planning process will begin. After I send in my deposit, what should I do next? You will be given an outing contract following your initial inquiry that will contain the financial and course requirements for your event. After submitting the signed contract, you should begin organizing your attendees. Our professional staff will then work with you to plan the all details of your golf event. What formats can be played? What about special contest holes? The specific format is left up to you and your group. Stroke Play and Scramble are the most popular. We will organize any contest that you may require. Longest Drive, Closest to Pin and Longest Putt are the most popular. How are final payments determined? At least 15 days prior to the date of your event, the exact number of players in your event must be finalized. Based on that number, all outing fees (less deposit) are due in full at that time. Prior to your event, two deadlines are significant: 1. Ten days prior to date of event, provide your guaranteed player count in multiples of four. Final arrangements, rules, prizes, etc. also will be discussed at this time. 2. Two days prior to the event, provide a list of players names, in foursomes, for our staff to prepare scorecards and cart plates. Cancellation Policy: Should circumstances require you to cancel your event please do so no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the event s date. In the event of a cancellation any security deposit is forfeited. Events cancelled fewer than 14 days from event date will be liable for all food and beverage charges and 50% off all golf fees. All cancellation notices must be provided in writing to the golf club originally reserved for the event. All charges per the original outing agreement will be due for events not cancelled in writing. What information should be provided to my outing participants? Pace of play is four-and-one-half hours for 18 holes. Non-metal spikes are highly preferred. Players should arrive 30 minutes prior to their tee time. For shotgun starts, players should arrive 45 minutes prior to the starting time. Golf Carts are required for all players No carry-on alcoholic beverages are permitted. Each player must have a set of clubs, and rentals are available. Proper golf attire is required. What about a rain date? As long as the course is playable and carts are allowed, the event will proceed as scheduled. If the course is determined unplayable by our staff, you will have the opportunity to reschedule on a mutually agreed upon date. What about severe weather conditions on the day of my event? Our staff will monitor any weather condition that may arise and inform players of any special action required. How long will our round of golf take? Typically, a round of golf takes four-and-one-half hours to complete. However, we are aware that most outings include players that may not play on a regular basis. Therefore, in order for a successful day for all players, please have players arrive at the course 30 to 45 minutes prior to the event starting, and make every effort to maintain the pace of play with the group ahead of you.
