6 6 From the Courts... A Note from the ro... More Results from our Tennis Club Championships. Congratulations to all the Winners! This summer has been so wonderful that it doesn t want to quit! I m sitting here on your typical 80 degree October day reflecting on another great tennis season. This season we had almost all of our GCTA teams improve their record from last year. We had representatives from Worthington Hills win the Summer Clay Court Championships in at least four different divisions! We set records with our attendance of both the Ladies, and Men s Member Guest, we had a great Tennis Smash, and once again the Club Championships on Labor Day were a great success! Helping to make all those events run as smoothly as they did were our wonderful Tennis Committee Members: Dana and Lora McBrien, Kelly and Brad Needleman, Doug Emert, Jessica Sherman, Dick Ellinger, Genna Carey and Keri Rathburn. Thanks so much for all you ve done for the tennis program this summer! I also want to thank the tennis staff for their outstanding work this summer. I felt the pro-shop staff of Brian, Windsor, Marcus, Cort, Hannah, Chris and Mandy were as dedicated to their job as any staff we ve had at Worthington Hills. I d also like to give a special thanks to Jorge Morera for playing me in a ro s Exhibition on Labor Day. Not only was Jorge injured and still agreed to play, he was kind enough to know that my job was on the line and allow me win in a three hour marathon match. He has assured me that he will not be so kind when we have our rematch at his ura Vida House in Costa Rica! It s members that make this program so special. It s members that create the environment that has our tennis program expanding every season. It s the way we embrace each other as friends and competitors that makes Worthington Hills tennis such a unique place to enjoy tennis. I m grateful for everyone who continues to make this possible and for everyone who allows me to be a part of it. I look forward to returning next season to help continue to create new and fun programs for everyone to enjoy. I also look forward to expanding the structure of the pickleball program which is growing by leaps and bounds as well (thanks John and Cathy Folk for all your hard work!!). lease have a safe and enjoyable winter season!!
