Rail: +3m Entire Penetrometer: 5.06 STEWARDS: M F Van Gestel (Chairman), P C Dingwall, T J Vassallo, T P Moxon, S T Matthews and cadet's and M W Purse, R W Loughlin. ef RACE 1: Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes 1000m (Group 3) Amercement Hampered at the start when crowded by One Step which shifted out. From the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Stewards considered an objection lodged by B Avdulla rider of 4 th placegetter Amercement against Mayaaseh being declared the 3 rd placegetter alleging interference near the 200m. In dismissing the objection Stewards determined that Mayaaseh was steadied near the 200m to avoid the heels of Last Chance Dance and as a consequence shifted out and made contact with Amercement which became unbalanced. After considering the evidence and in particular the patrol footage Stewards established that whilst contact had occurred between the two runners near 200m that Amercement had headed Mayaaseh during the incident at the 200m and that Mayaaseh then improved past Amercement inside the 50m to go on and take 3 rd placing. Calescent Raced greenly throughout and near the 600m was steadied from the heels of Diddles. Rider T Berry stated that near the 300m the filly's action changed and he did have some concerns with his mount at this point of the race and as consequence did not test it over the final 150m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be slow to recover and to have sustained a laceration to the off-hindleg. Trainer Mr M Dale undertook to report back on the progress of Calescent in the days subsequent to the race. Catch Me Near the 600m when racing keenly was steadied from the heels of Calescent. Deviate Crowded on jumping between Kibibi and Satin Socks, which shifted in. Raced greenly in the early stages and approaching the 600m got its head up when being restrained from the heels of Honey Go Lightly. Diddles Raced wide and without cover and making the home turn laid out which resulted in it continuing to race wide. Continued to hang out in the straight. Last Chance Dance When racing greenly approaching the 600m was inclined to lay in and was steadied from the heels of Kibibi. Inside the 300m when continuing to hang in was steadied when awkwardly placed between Catch Me and Calescent (T Berry) which shifted out. T Berry was advised to exercise more care. Mayaaseh Laid out making the home turn. Near the 450m was steadied from the heels of Last Chance Dance. One Step From the wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Originaire Began awkwardly. Stella Blaze Slow to begin. Near the 200m improved into a narrow run to the inside of Press Week and raced in restricted room to the inside of that runner until inside the 100m. Kibibi A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be slow to recover. RACE 2: Arrowfield Breeders Plate 1000m (Group 3) Chismoso From the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages

2 2 Covert Ops When under pressure in the straight was inclined to lay out. Donandkim Made contact with the rail in the mounting enclosure, was examined behind the barriers by the Club's Veterinary Officer and was deemed suitable to race. Rider J Parr reported that despite his efforts the colt failed to stretch out throughout the early and middle stages of the event and raced in an uncompetitive manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr G Nickson was advised Donandkim must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before its next race start. Dubious Behind the barriers lost its near fore plate and was re-plated. Dubious was examined by the Club's Veterinary Officer and deemed suitable to race. Raced wide and without cover. When under pressure in the early part of the straight was inclined to lay out. Exceed The Stars Slow to begin. Raced wide and without cover. King s Champ Raced wide and without cover. When placed under pressure in the straight was inclined to lay out, and near the 100m was hampered when Vaporizing shifted out towards King's Champ. Krameric Began awkwardly. Lionsgate A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Co-trainer Mr Paul Snowden was advised that Lionsgate would now incur the mandatory embargoes under the provisions of AR53A. Redicon Slow to begin (2L). Near the 600m when racing greenly, had to be steadied away from the heels of Krameric which shifted in slightly. Rome From the wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. RACE 3: London Australia Underwriting Dulcify Quality 1600m (Listed) Gem Song Rider J Collett stated that whilst he was given the option to go forward on the colt if it began well he said that when Gem Song commenced only fairly he elected to take up a trailing position on the colt to avoid being caught wide. Near the 700m as Cloak improved to its outside, Gem Song commenced to race keenly and had to be checked to avoid the heels of Whiteley. Cloak As the start was affected, lowered its head resulting in the colt missing the start (3L) when it made contact with the offside of its barrier. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Madam Rouge Became fractious after being loaded into the barriers, was examined by the Club's Veterinary Officer and deemed suitable to race. Rider T Berry advised the filly pulled hard in the middle stages when the tempo slackened, but in the straight was one-paced and was unable to finish the race off. He added in his view Madam Rouge would be suited by coming back in distance where it would enjoy a stronger tempo. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be 2/5 lame off foreleg and to have sustained a small laceration to the near hind fetlock. Stable representative Mr C Duckworth was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Madam Rouge racing again, Whiteley Began awkwardly, shifted in making contact with Mickey Blue Eyes and became unbalanced. Raced keenly in the early stages. Purple Sector Rider C Brown stated that after the colt commenced a little awkwardly he rode it along to take up a prominent position which resulted in Purple Sector being inclined to race keenly in the early stages. He added in the straight he was initially steadied when disappointed for clear running between Madam Rouge and The Soloist and at the 350m commenced to shift out in order to obtain clear running to the outside of Ligulate. He said that when he observed Mickey Blue Eyes improve to his outside he was obliged to steady his mount and became held up on the heels of Ligulate until inside the 100m where he was able to secure a tight run between Ligulate and Madam Rouge. Ligulate Raced wide and without cover throughout.

3 3 Mickey Blue Eyes After being slow to begin had to be checked on jumping when crowded between Quackerjack and Whiteley which shifted in. Held up until the 300m. The Soloist When giving ground near the 150m had to steadied when crowded between Madam Rouge and Purple Sector (C Brown) both of which shifted ground. C Brown was advised to exercise more care. RACE 4: Yulong Australia Hill Stakes 2000m (Group 2) The running of this race was delayed due to the bridle of Satono Rasen becoming displaced before taking some time to re-apply the gear. Who Shot Thebarman Rider H Bowman stated that with the slow tempo in the early and middle stages he elected to shift out and improve to the lead near the 1000m. He said in addition to the tempo he felt that by going forward this would advantage Who Shot Thebarman as he is looking for addition ground and would make the race a more of a staying contest. H Bowman stated that Who Shot Thebarman is better suited on a track with a more forgiving surface. One Foot In Heaven Became fractious after being loaded into the barriers, was examined by the Club's Veterinary Officer and deemed suitable to race. Allergic From its wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have the thumps. Egg Tart From its wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Luvaluva Rider M Walker advised that his mount was not suited by the Good 3 track conditions and indicted the mare laid out throughout the event as a result. RACE 5: Santos Coffee Premiere Stakes 1200m (Group 2) Redzel Rider K McEvoy advised that the gelding which had been withdrawn from The Shorts on 15 September 2018, was inclined to race keenly, particularly when Invincible Star was positioned to his outside. He added that as a result Redzel was not able to finish the race off as strongly as what had been anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Music Magnate A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 1/5 lame in the off foreleg. Stable representative Mr J Bruce was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Music Magnate In Her Time Began only fairly. Shoals From a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Invincible Star Rider S Baster stated that the mare was able to comfortably obtain a position outside the early leader Redzel and travelled strongly in that position throughout the early and middle stages. He added that when placed under pressure in the straight Invincible Star failed to respond to his riding and dispositioned in the manner it finished the race off. S Baster stated in his opinion Invincible Star would be better suited by being able to lead and dictate terms and also indicted the mare would appreciate more forgiving surfaces. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be slow to recover. Co-Trainer Mr A Bott agreed with the explanation offered by S Baster and indicated that Invincible Star had pleased the sable leading into todays race. Mr Bott undertook to report back to the Stewards on the post-race condition of the mare in the days subsequent. RACE 6: Darley Flight Stakes 1600m (Group 1) Oohood Shortly after the start was bumped by Mizzy which shifted in abruptly Miss Fabulass Rider K McEvoy advised that the filly refused to settle throughout the early and middle stages of the event and was checked form the heels of Symi on a number of occasions. He added that near the 900m he was obliged to shift to a three-wide position when awkwardly placed to close to the heels of Symi and this resulted in Miss Fabulass having to race wide and without cover from that point. K McEvoy added that the racing manners of the filly were detrimental to its chances. Fiesta Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with Santa Catarina and became unbalanced.

4 4 Pretty In Pink Near the 1000m Miss Fabulass was steadied from the heels of Symi, shifted out resulting in Pretty In Pink being hampered and being taken wider. Fundamentalist Held up in the early part of the straight. Futooh A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be 1/5 lame in the near hindleg. Co-Trainer D Hayes was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Futooh racing again. Baccarat Baby Began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with Santa Catarina and became unbalanced. Was steadied shortly after the start when crowded between Fundamentalist and Santa Catarina which shifted out. Over the final 25m could not be fully tested when racing in restricted room between Fiesta and Miss Fabulass. Santa Catarina Began very awkwardly and shortly after the start was badly crowded between Fiesta and Baccarat Baby, both of which shifted ground. Overraced throughout the early and middle stages and refused to settle. Maid Of Heaven Pulled hard in the early stages. Briefly held up in the early part of the straight. Symi When giving ground near the 150m was steadied when crowded between Maid Of Heaven which was taken out by Baccarat Baby and Pretty In Pink which shifted in. Artistocratic Miss After being slow to begin was crowded by Miss Fabulass which shifted in. Pulled hard in the early stages Nakeeta Jane Was checked soon after the start when crowded by Fundamentalist and Baccarat Baby which was taken out by Santa Catarina. For some distance near the 600m was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Baccarat Baby. Was held up making the home turn. RACE 7: TAB Epsom Handicap 1600m (Group 1) Pierata Slow to begin. Rider C Brown stated that his mount raced flat today and did not travel strongly in accordance with its usual racing manners. Laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. D Argento Prior to the declaration of correct weight, after Stewards identified from the inquiry room that jockey J McDonald had struck his horse on 9 occasions prior to the 100m, they then viewed the patrol films to ascertain whether D Argento had gained an advantage that resulted in it finishing in second place. When Stewards were not satisfied that D Argento had gained an advantage, in accordance with AR168(2) having regard to the margin of three-quarters of a length between 2nd and 3rd, they therefore declined to exercise their powers under AR137A(9) and did not proceed with lodging a formal objection. Near the 1100m D'Argento was crowded and struck the running rail when racing tight to the inside of Pierata which was crowded by Hartnell (H Bowman). A short distance later Hartnell shifted in and away from Red Excitement despite the efforts of H Bowman which resulted in Pierata losing its running and having to be steadied and again crowding D'Argento. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care in relation to the initial crowding to D'Argento but the Stewards were satisfied that H Bowman had reacted appropriately when Hartnell shifted in and away from Red Excitement. In this incident Unforgotten which was following Pierata was steadied and shifted in which resulted in Invictus Prince having to be steadied when it struck the running rail and Shillelagh also being steadied as a consequence. Duca Valentinois Stewards permitted G Schofield to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allotted weight of 53kg. Single Gaze A post-race veterinary examination of the mare which was eased down by its rider over the final 200m revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr C Waller indicated that he would now advise the owner to retire Single Gaze. Mister Sea Wolf Held up for clear running until near the 300m. Religify Near the 1100m was steadied when crowded by Siege Of Quebec which was taken in by Tom Melbourne (D Yendall). A short distance later Religify was checked when Siege Of Quebec shifted in and away

5 5 from Tom Melbourne. D Yendall was reprimanded for careless riding under AR137(a) and reminded of his obligation to ensure he leaves enough racing room for runners to his inside. Champagne Cuddles From the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the middle stages and was checked from the heels of Lanciato near the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Red Excitement Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Siege Of Quebec Was crowded on jumping by Arbeitsam which shifted in. Approaching the 100m was steadied when crowded between Hartnell and D'Argento (J McDonald) which shifted out. J McDonald was reprimanded under AR137(a) for careless riding. Invictus Prince Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Paret A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. RACE 8: The Heineken 3 Metropolitan 2400m (Group 1) Big Duke On jumping was bumped by the The Lord Mayor. Was held up for clear running until near the 150m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Wall Of Fire D Holland (Miss Admiration) was found guilty of a charge of improper riding under AR137(a) the particulars being that after his mount was contacted and carried out slightly by Wall Of Fire approaching the 1200m he then directed his mount in for some distance thereafter making heavy contact with Wall Of Fire on a number of occasions thereby forcing that horse from its rightful running and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of Sikandarabad. Patrick Erin which had established running to the inside of Wall Of Fire was crowded in this incident. D Holland's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Wednesday 3 October 2018 and to expire on Wednesday 24 October 2018 on which day he may ride. Midterm From a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages Miss Admiration A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Brimham Rocks Stewards permitted K McEvoy to ride the gelding 1kg over its allotted weight of 50kg. Sin To Win From the 900m raced wide and without cover and on the home turn was taken wider when Miss Admiration shifted out to improve. The Lord Mayor Stewards permitted J Ford to ride the gelding 1kg over its allotted weight of 50kg. Approaching the 2000m was steadied away from the heels of Patrick Erin. In this incident The Lord Mayor shifted out resulting in Jake's Hill and Sin To Win being taken wider on the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Nettoyer Near the 2100m was steadied from the heels of Sin To Win. Overraced in the early stages. Just Shine Rider A Collet's arrival on course was delayed significantly due to the late arrival of an international flight. With the approval of connections Stewards permitted A Collett to ride the gelding 1.5kg over its allotted weight of 50kg, as she had not been provided with sufficient time to undertake her weight loss regime due to her late arrival. From the wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Was inclined to overrace and approaching the 1000m improved to the inside of Midterm when that runner shifted out slightly. Soon after Midterm shifted back in which resulted in Just Shine having to be checked to avoid the heels of that runner. High Bridge Stewards permitted C Williams to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allotted weight of 50kg. Slow to begin. Opposition From the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1000m was checked from the heels of Just Shine.

6 6 Jake s Hill Raced wide and without cover from the 1700m RACE 9: Snitzel Sprint 1200m The running of this race was delayed due to the tongue tie having to be re-applied to Perizada. Sir Plush Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover. Perizada Raced wide and without cover. Akasaki Near the 200m when commencing to give ground was steadied to avoid the heels of Right Or Wrong (H Bowman) which shifted out when not clear. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care. Crafty Cop Bumped on jumping by Sir Plush. No Doubt Overraced in the middle stages and near the 800m was checked to avoid the heels of Problem Solver. Right Or Wrong Slow to begin. Beau Geste Hampered on jumping. Between the 300m and the 200m was held up for clear running. Coruscate Overraced in the middle stages. Rider J McDonald advised that his instructions were to obtain cover on the gelding from its wide barrier. He said that although Coruscate commenced well he elected to steady to endeavour to try and obtain cover behind Perizada. He added that when Miss Que held its position behind Perizada he was obliged to remain racing wide and without cover throughout the early and middle stages. J McDonald further added he did not ride his mount forward when caught wide as he was of the opinion he would have had to make too much use of the gelding to cross runners to his inside. Maximus Slow to begin. Miss Que Hampered on jumping. From a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Near the 800m Miss Que was steadied to avoid the heels of Coruscate (J McDonald) which shifted in when not quite clear. J McDonald was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. Rider C Brown advised that Miss Que was caught wide throughout the event, albeit with cover however the filly failed to respond to his riding in the straight and in his opinion was disappointed in the filly's manner to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Problem Solver Held up for clear running until the 100m. Red Currant Trainer Ms W Roche was fined the sum of $100 under AR59A for failing to produce the Thoroughbred Identity Card for the gelding when requested. Crowded on jumping by Perizada which began awkwardly and shifted out. For some distance inside the 200m was held up and unable to improve when placed close to the heels of Perizada. GENERAL: Summary of whip use: Stewards noted the following riders exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m under AR137A(5)(a)(ii). Bearing in mind the totality of whip use, no action was taken.
