Race 6 JHB Syndications Golden Pendant (Group 2) 1400m Daysee Doom trainer Mr R Quinton advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the mare, however indicated Daysee Doom had now been spelled. Race 7 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Stakes (Group 1) 1400m Seabrook trainer Mr M Price advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the filly and indicated will be freshened up prior to having its next start in Melbourne. Race 8 Gow-Gates Handicap 1400m Astoria trainer Mr J Cummings advised that he was satisfied with the geldings post race condition, however it is his intention to have Astoria ridden more conservatively at its next start having regard to its failure to finish the race off when resuming. Race 9 Fugen Handicap 2000m Abdon stable representative Mr C Duckworth advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the gelding and it is now the intention to continue with Abdon s preparation. Quick Defence stable Representative Mr C Duckworth advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the gelding, however Quick Defence has now been transferred from the stable. HAWKESBURY Thursday, 27 September 2018 Race 8 Untold Rum Class 2 Handicap 1800m Cinderconi trainer Mr J Attard advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the mare. NEWCASTLE Saturday, 29 September 2018 RACE 3 Australian Bloodstock Class 1 Handicap 1500m Our Royal Egyptian trainer Mr B. Widdup advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the horse, however Our Royal Egyptian has now been transferred from the stable. (alm) ROYAL RANDWICK Saturday, 29 September 2018 RACE 1 Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes 1000m (Group 3) Calescent trainer Mr M Dale advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the filly.

2 RACE 6 Darley Flight Stakes 1600m (Group 1) Santa Catarina rounding the home turn, was bumped and crowded by Mizzy and as a result became unbalanced. Race 7 TAB Epsom Handicap 1600m (Group 1) Single Gaze stable representative Mr C Duckworth advised that the mare has now been retired. KENSINGTON Monday, 1 October 2018 Race 8 Tab.com.au Handicap 1400m Renewal co-trainer Mr M Hawkes advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the gelding, however advised that Renewal will now be spelled. LATE RIDING CHANGES: As J Collett was indisposed due to illness, the following rider substitutions were permitted by the Stewards: Race 1 Race 5 Race 7 Commentator T Angland Moccasin Miss K McEvoy Voilier G Schofield RACE 1 Everest Carnival Plate 1600m Zenardini after being slow to begin, was then shifted in behind runners shortly after the start. Despite the urgings of its rider in the early stages, failed to muster speed. Passing the 1100m, Zenardini, which commenced to overrace, improved onto the heels of Skippit and had to be steadied. Zenardini continued to race keenly until the 900m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Orcein began awkwardly. Rounding the home turn, when endeavouring to improve to the outside of Castel Sant Angelo, became awkwardly placed close to the heels of that runner and had to be steadied and shifted out. Orcein laid in when placed under pressure over the final 200m. Castel Sant Angelo a post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be displaying thumps. Battle Plane was inclined to lay in behind Invictus Warrior in the early part of the straight and proved reluctant to shift to the outside of that runner. Stardome shortly after straightening, after commencing his run to the outside of Castel Sant Angelo near the 200m, had to be directed to the outside of that runner and then again, passing the 150m, had to be shifted to the outside of Orcein to continue into clear running. Commentator over the concluding stages, was not able to be fully ridden out to the end of the race when placed close to the heels of Stardome. Carif when questioned, rider K McEvoy stated that he anticipated racing in a forward position, however when he was caught wide and without cover in the early stages, he elected to restrain his mount to obtain a position behind Commentator near the 1000m. He added that his mount travelled satisfactorily thereafter and he was satisfied with the manner in which the colt finished its race off. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

3 RACE 2 TAB Rewards Handicap 1600m Palmateer began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 1200m, Palmateer, which was racing keenly, had to be eased when crowded to the inside of Grand Soleil (App F Kersley) which, when being restrained to obtain a position behind the leader, Pick Of The Day, shifted in when not clear. App Kersley was advised that he must ensure he leaves sufficient racing room for runners when shifting ground. Mossy Girl when caught wide and without cover in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward and assume a position outside the leader, Pick Of The Day, near the 1200m. Nai a passing the 1300m, had to be eased from the heels of Grand Soleil (App F Kersley), which shifted in when not quite clear. App Kersley was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. When questioned, J Van Overmeire stated that passing the 800m, when racing with cover behind Mossy Girl, his mount was inclined to hang out when racing keenly. He said that Grand Soleil, which was positioned to his inside, was able to manoeuvre Nai'a wider on the track and given its relative positioning to Mossy Girl, he was obliged to race wide and without cover from that point. A post race veterinary examination revealed Nai a to be lame (2/5) in the near hind leg. Stable representative Mr D Beadman was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Nai a racing again. Alnaas raced keenly in the middle stages and had to be restrained from the heels of Nai a for some distance near the 1100m. RACE 3 Vale Steve Brem Handicap 2130m Go Benny shortly after the start, was shifted in behind runners. Near the 1100m, when the pace was only slow, was shifted out from behind Orokonui and allowed to stride forward and raced prominently near the 900m. After obtaining this position, Go Benny then raced wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Scratches was held up approaching and rounding the home turn and was unable to improve, until passing the 250m where it had to be shifted to the inside of Go Benny. Approaching the 150m, shifted in and away from Go Benny, which was inclined to lay in. Orokonui leaving the straight on the first occasion, got its head on the side, and a short distance later had to be eased away from the heels of Story Of Tong Sai, which shifted in. Near the 1800m, when the pace slackened, Orokonui had to be steadied from the heels of Story Of Tong Sai. Orokonui, approaching the 1000m, when Go Benny had improved to his outside, had to be steadied from the heels of Story Of Tong Sai Red Dubawi near the 1100m, commenced to race keenly and had to be steadied from the heels of Terwilliker for some distance. Terwilliker after the 200m, had to be steadied when disappointed for a run between Iron Duke and Jagger, which laid in and away from Scratches. Story Of Tong Sai near the 800m, despite being ridden along to maintain its position, was unable to do so and as a consequence lost some ground until passing the 600m. Jagger Mr J Steinmetz, trainer of Jagger, which raced prominently, was reminded of his obligations to inform the Stewards of any change in riding tactics in future. Iron Duke a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RACE 4 American Pharoah@Coolmore Australia Handicap 1200m Sangita the filly, which was delayed arriving on course, was examined by the Club's veterinarian and deemed suitable to race.

Farranfore was held up approaching and rounding the home turn and approaching the 250m, had to shift to the inside of Adamina to secure clear running whereby the colt then finished its race of strongly. Sizzling Ace knuckled badly on jumping. A post race veterinary examination revealed Sizzling Act to be slow to recover. Patron Black was slow to begin and joining the course proper near the 900m, commenced to race keenly. As a result, Sangita, which was following, had to be eased from the heels of that runner. Rider J Grisedale reported that his mount was one paced throughout the event and hung out under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Fortification near the 200m, was steadied and crowded between Fifteen Rounds and Adamina (J Innes), which when inclined to hang out, then shifted out when not clear. J Innes was advised that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion. When questioned, rider K McEvoy stated that he was obliged to race wide and without cover from his wide barrier. He stated that his mount travelled well throughout the event, however when Fifteen Rounds commenced to improve to his outside rounding the home turn, Fortification was then inclined to lay in and away from that runner. He said that the colt continued to lay in when placed under pressure in the straight and was disappointing in the manner in which it finished off its race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Adamina over the concluding stages, was unable to be ridden out to the end of the race when positioned close to the heels of Farranfore. RACE 5 The Agency Real Estate Handicap 1200m Deity shortly after the start was shifted in behind runners from its wide barrier. Bandol after being slow to begin, had to be steadied when crowded between Dolly's Due and Wild Horizon, which was taken out by Lips N Lashes, which in turn began awkwardly and shifted in. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the filly, rider T Clark stated that after receiving interference on jumping, he settled at the rear of the field. He said that Bandol did not feel comfortable in its action thereafter. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Co-trainer Mr A Bott was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the filly racing again. Mr Bott undertook to report back on the immediate race plans for Bandol. Second Island slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Approaching the 400m, made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. Dolly's Due approaching the 900m, was crowded between Wooshka and Wild Horizontal, which shifted in. Wild Horizon passing the 600m, had to be steadied when crowded to the inside of Lips N Lashes, which hung in despite the efforts of its rider. Dolly's Due, which was following, had to be steadied as a consequence. Moccasin Miss passing the 200m was crowded between Lips N Lashes, which shifted out, and Deity, which laid in. RACE 6 Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap 1100m Puppet Master was a late withdrawal at 8.25am acting on veterinary advice that Puppet Master had an elevated temperature. Catesby the gelding cast its off hind plate in the tie up stall necessitating it having to be re-plated. Catesby was examined by the Club s veterinarian and was deemed suitable to race.

5 Almanzora shortly after the start, was bumped heavily by Sasso Corbaro, which shifted in. Almanzora then shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Almanzora commenced to race keenly after the 800m. Sasso Corbaro in the early stages was shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Sexy Eyes approaching the 250m, was bumped on the hindquarter by Schubert, which was endeavouring to shift out from behind Catesby to improve. As a result, both Sexy Eyes and Schubert became unbalanced. Schubert near the 250m, became held up behind Catesby and near the 200m, after being disappointed for a run between Catesby and Stone Cold, had to shift back to the outside of Catesby in an attempt to secure clear running. Schubert continued to be held up behind Catesby and experienced some difficulty in obtaining clear running until approaching the 50m whereby the gelding had to be steadied when crowded between Sexy Eyes and Catesby (G Schofield), which shifted out when not clear. G Schofield was advised that he should have stopped riding and straightened sooner than he did on this occasion. As a result, Schubert was then not able to be tested thereafter. RACE 7 ANZ Bloodstock News Handicap 1300m Mahalangur slow to begin. Marathon laid out rounding the home turn. Bravissimo when questioned, App R Hunt stated that she was instructed to ride the horse prominently, and she was asked specifically to achieve this without having to make too much use of her mount. She added that after it began well, the gelding did not show sufficient gate speed to cross and lead. She explained that when caught wide in the early stages without cover, she attempted to obtain a trailing position near the 1200m, however due to a number of runners maintaining their relative positions, her mount continued to travel wide. She said that when her mount commenced to race keenly passing the 1000m, and when the pace slackened, she elected to improve and obtain a position outside the leader, The Houso, near the 600m. The inquiry was adjourned to allow the Stewards to interview trainer Mr L Bridge. The Houso a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. GENERAL: Summary of whip use The Stewards noted the following riders exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m under AR137A(5)(a)(ii): Race 1 T Berry (Invictus Warrior) 6 strikes Race 5 J Penza (Dolly s Due) 6 strikes Race 6 G Schofield (Catesby) 8 strikes Race 7 T Berry (Mahalangur) 6 strikes Race 7 App F Kersley (Marathon) 6 strikes Bearing in mind the totality of whip use, no action was taken. Swab samples were taken from all winners and the following runners: Race 1: Battle Plane, Castel Sant Angelo (2), Commentator, Invictus Warrior, Skippit, Zenardini. Race 2: Grand Soleil, Nai a, Palmateer, Mossy Girl, Pick Of The Day (2). Race 3: Scratches, Iron Duke, Go Benny, Orokonui (2), Terwilliker, Red Dubawi. Race 4: Fortification, Patron Black, Farranfore (2), Sangita.

6 Race 5: Second Island, Moccasin Miss, Bandol, Lips N Lashes, Dolly s Due. Race 6: Sasso Corbaro, Stone Cold, Catesby, Sexy Eyes. Race 7: Smart Ain t He, Mahalangur, Voilier, The Houso, Marathon.
