Brown Stewards conducted a number of stable inspections of trainer s with runners engaged at today s meeting as part of the Compliance Assurance raceday activities and no breaches of the rules were detected. Further all runners in the Railway Stakes were placed under supervision from 5am this morning. Additionally all horses engaged in the Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes and Carlton Draught - Railway Stakes were subject to Out of Competition testing in the lead up to these races. RACE 1: CROWN GOLDEN ALE PLATE M SNATCH 'N' GRAB (Paul Harvey) Commenced slowly. Raced wide from the 600m. DIAMOND TONIQUE (Jarrad Noske) - Commenced awkwardly. Impeded for clear running from on straightening until taken outwards approaching the 150m and raced in restricted room from thereon. SENSO (Ryan Hill) - Commenced awkwardly. Rider advised that the colt raced greenly throughout running. TWOREEN (Ellie Cockram) Raced wide throughout. HABENERA (Troy Turner) Over-raced in the early and middle stages. NINGBO (William Pike) A post race Veterinary examination of the unplaced filly revealed No abnormalities. Rider advised that when ridden along in the early stages the filly failed to muster early speed and raced further back in the field than anticipated and he was overall disappointed in its performance. Trainer Mr Simon Miller advised that he will give consideration to adding blinkers to the filly and having it race over an increased distance for its future racing. Gear Change: AMOURIO Tongue Tie Off RACE 2: CARLTON DRY SPRINT M INOK (NZ) (Jerry Noske) Commenced awkwardly losing ground at the start. Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards in the straight with the rider using the whip in her left hand from the 200m. NITRO (Dom Tourneur) Raced wide on straightening.

2 ASCOT : /2 Race 2 Continued HIGH LIMIT (Jason Whiting) Race keenly and improved onto heels approaching the 600m and was steadied getting its head in the air. Impeded for clear running on straightening and taken outwards for a clear passage at the 200m. STORM SENSE (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Raced keenly in the early stages and wide for the majority of the event. SHOOEY (Patrick Carbery) Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide and lay outwards throughout. Gear Change: TEMPORISE Pulling Bit Off RACE 3: PLACID ARK STAKES M HOBART JONES (Ryan Hill) Raced wide throughout. DJANGO (Paul Harvey) A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be slow to recover. Trainer Mr J. Byrne advised that he would have blood specimens taken and advise Stewards of the results. HOLD YOUR TONGUE (Jason Whiting) Impeded from on straightening until taken inwards at the 150m. MAXIMUS MAK (NZ) (Patrick Carbery) Lay inwards in the straight with the rider electing to use the whip in his left hand at the 200m. FULD'S BET (Peter Knuckey) Bounded on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Impeded for a short distance on straightening and then taken outwards to obtain a clear passage near the 200m. MISSISSIPPIAN (William Pike) Slow into stride. Blocked for clear running from on straightening until approaching the 75m. RACE 4: CARBINE CLUB OF W.A. STAKES M KALAHAAR (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Slow into stride, SETTLE STRADA (Michael Rodd) Raced wide throughout. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slight delay to its respiratory recovery. Trainer Mr D. Harrison will now give consideration to the gelding s immediate racing future and will advise Stewards of his decision. WROUGHTED (Peter Hall) When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider advised that the gelding had raced in a flat manner. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr A. Durrant advised that he would give consideration to sending the gelding for a spell and would advise Stewards accordingly. BLACK HEART BART (Patrick Carbery) Raced wide on straightening. CROWN LAWYER (Brad Parnham) Threw its head on jumping. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. KHELEVA (Peter Knuckey) Raced wide on straightening. WILD CHARGER (Shaun O'Donnell) Slow into stride. Rider reported that the gelding returned with its tongue over the bit and had been under pressure prior to the 600m however had failed to run on which is uncharacteristic for it. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Co-Trainer Mr P. Giadresco advised that he would now consider placing a tongue tie on the gelding for future starts and that it would not race for a period of three weeks. RACE 5: JUNGLE MIST CLASSIC M HUSSY BY CHOICE (Shaun O'Donnell) - Commenced awkwardly and then bumped. COOL TRADE (Patrick Carbery) Raced wide for the majority of the event.

3 ASCOT : /3 Race 5 Continued SWAP YA (Joseph Azzopardi) Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout. VAMPI LASS (Peter Hall) - Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. ZONTE (Steven Parnham) - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Slow into stride and then bumped shortly after. Crowded inwards and then commenced to race ungenerously near the 1000m and then failed to settle for some distance through the middle stages. RACE 6: SKY RACING-W.A. GUINEAS M All runners engaged in this race were required to be on course 2 hours prior to the advertised starting time. TONTO (Jason Whiting) Lay inwards in the straight with the rider using the whip in his left hand from the 200m. OUTLAW PETE (Paul Harvey) Raced wide from the 500m. SETTLERS CREEK (Troy Turner) Raced wide from the 600m. Lay inwards in the straight. SAY GERONIMO (NZ) (Patrick Carbery) Bumped shortly after the start. CADENZA (Dom Tourneur) Bumped shortly after the start. TOP SHOW (Chris Parnham) Slow into stride. IDEAL IMAGE (Shaun O'Donnell) Rider advised that the filly had a tendency to lay inwards throughout and in his opinion was now at the end of its preparation after having raced in consecutive weeks. Raced wide throughout. KEYSBROOK (Peter Knuckey) Continually impeded for clear running in the straight and was steadied approaching the 100m when improving onto the heels of a tiring runner. FURIOUS DAME (Ben Kennedy) Rider advised that the filly had raced keenly when leading. RACE 7: CROWN PERTH-WINTERBOTTOM STAKES M All runners engaged in this race were required to be on course 2 hours prior to the advertised starting time. An objection lodged by Jockey S. Arnold rider of the second placed WATERMANS BAY against MAGNIFISIO (J. Brown) being declared the winner, alleging interference approaching the 1000m was dismissed. In dismissing the objection Stewards took into account within the first 150m of the event and that the interference was at the lower end of the scale and the manner in which both horses finished the race off. SIDESTEP (Nash Rawiller) Slow into stride. Bumped with another runner at the 1100m and again bumped at the 1000m crowded and steadied from heels. Crowded inwards approaching the 1000m and steadied when racing keenly. Raced keenly and steadied from heels at the 800m. BEL SPRINTER (Ben Melham) - Slow into stride. Angled outwards for a run approaching the150m. WATERMANS BAY (Steven Arnold) Bumped another runner at the 1150m. Steadied from heels approaching the 1000m. Impeded for a short distance on straightening. Steadied outwards to obtain clear running at the 50m. Brushed with another runner shortly before the finish. SHINING KNIGHT (William Pike) Raced wide for the majority. Brushed with another runner shortly before the finish. TIGER PETE (Shaun Mc Gruddy) Bumped at the 1100m. ECLAIR BIG BANG (NZ) (Dom Tourneur) Returned having cast its near hind plate during running. MAGNIFISIO (Jason Brown) Shifted inwards and bumped with another runner at the 1150m. Shifted inwards and bumped with another runner approaching the 1000m. Taken wide on straightening to obtain clear running.

4 ASCOT : /4 Race 7 Continued ANGELIC LIGHT (Damien Oliver) Had a tendency to lay outwards in the straight. General: On Inquiry it was established that approaching the 1000m MAGNIFISIO (J. Brown) shifted inwards crowding WATERMANS BAY (S. Arnold) which was steadied and made contact with SIDESTEP (N. Rawiller) and MAGNIFISIO then continued to shift inwards causing SIDESTEP to be carried inwards and bump. Jockey Jason Brown pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under ARR.137(a) for allowing his mount to shift inwards when not fully clear and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for a period of 16 days to commence from midnight 22 November 2014 and to expire at midnight 8 December Jockey Jason Brown was also fined the sum of $1,000. When considering penalty Stewards took into consideration Jockey Brown s excellent record in that he had not been suspended under this rule for 16 months, his guilty plea and that his suspension included forthcoming feature races and additionally that this was a Group 1 event. RACE 8: CARLTON DRAUGHT-RAILWAY STAKES M All runners engaged in this race were required to be on course 2 hours prior to the advertised starting time. The start of this race was re-scheduled to commence at 4:50pm. Correct weight was delayed several minutes whilst Jockey B. Melham (SMOKIN JOEY) and Trainer Mr W. Hunter viewed the photo finish image for third placing. MORIARTY (IRE) (Nash Rawiller) Taken outwards on straightening to obtain a clear run. Lay inwards in the straight with the rider using the whip in his left hand from the 300m. SMOKIN' JOEY (Ben Melham) Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Steadied when improving onto the heels of another runner approaching the 600m. MR MOET (Paul Harvey) Steadied from heels leaving the 600m and was taken outwards and raced wide thereafter. IHTSAHYMN (Steven Parnham) Raced wide from the 600m. BALMONT GIRL (Shaun O'Donnell) Taken outwards for a clear passage approaching the 200m. BASS STRAIT (NZ) (Chris Parnham) Raced in restricted room and disappointed at the 150m and steadied. FANCY FEET (Ryan Hill) Raced wide throughout. FUCHSIA BANDANA (Jarrad Noske) Dipped on jumping. PLATINUM ROCKER (Peter Knuckey) A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr S. Miller advised that he would have further Veterinary tests done on the mare in the ensuing days and advise Stewards of the results. RANGER (Dom Tourneur) Slow to begin. RACE 9: TATTERSALL'S CUP M POP CULTURE (Troy Turner) Steadied when improving onto the heels of another runner near the 600m. CLASSIQUE IVORY (NZ) (Shaun O'Donnell) Held up for clear running from on straightening until passing the 200m. CYBER CRIME (Patrick Carbery) Returned with a minor laceration to its off fore heel. REBELSON (William Pike) Trainer Mr D. McAuliffe advised that he would instruct for the gelding to be ridden in a relaxed manner with a plan to have it settle in a more forward to midposition and public announcements were made and this information was released on the RWWA Twitter account.

5 ASCOT : /5 Race 9 Continued GLOBAL FLIRT (Willie White) When questioned regarding the gelding settling on pace today compared to its last start where it raced in a rearward position, rider advised that at the geldings last start on 8 th November it had a tendency to race ungenerously shortly after the start resulting in him having to steady it which allowed other runners to cross him and therefore he raced further back in the field than anticipated. He further advised that his mount commenced well today and he was able to cross to the rails comfortably from a favourable barrier and take up a forward position. Trainer Mr J. Warwick advised that the gelding was better suited by the step up in distance of today s race and was able to take up a forward position and that it had also derived natural benefit from its previous start. He added that the gelding would race over similar and increased distances in the immediate future. He further stated that the stable had not supported the gelding in today s race. KIROV BOY (Danny Miller) Taken wide from the 1400m to improve its position to take up the lead leaving the 1200m. RED BLAST (Jerry Noske) Raced wide for the majority of the event SON OF SOMETHING (Peter Hall) Raced wide throughout. MYSTIC PRINCE (Brad Parnham) Knuckled shortly after the start. Taken wide leaving the 600m to improve its position. GENERAL Jockey Nash Rawiller will be contacted in relation to using his whip on two additional occasions prior to the 100m. Durrant later advised that upon return to the stables the mare recovered and worked well, and he will now continue with its current campaign. B.W.
