2 ENTRIES, FEES AND PARKING Entries close for Suffolk Horse Classes on Monday 8 th April 2019 NO LATE ENTRIES FOR SUFFOLK HORSE CLASSES Entries close for Light Horse Classes on Monday 29 th April 2019 LATE ENTRIES will continue to be accepted for Light Horse Classes following payment of an additional fee FEES AND PARKING All British Showjumping entries unless otherwise stated. All other entries 10 Members get a 2.00 reduction. Late entries for Light Horse classes will be accepted at an additional 3 both before and on the day up to one hour before published time of class. Donation of 3.00 per exhibitor as a contribution for First Aid services. Medical cover in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 73.8e. Cars accompanying competitors in lorries, park in the lorry park at their own risk, at a charge of 10 per car, payable at the gate. Members are entitled to free entry with parking in the forward area. Disabled parking is in the forward area. 3 CUPS and TROPHIES: Cup winners are required to enter the Grand Parade. For reasons of security, the Woodbridge Horse Show Committee would prefer to retain all trophies and cups after presentation and will undertake the engraving as appropriate. Competitors will be able to have a photograph of themselves taken with the cup or trophy. HARD HATS: Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos. All PAS015,VG1, ASTM F a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS onwards, MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted. British Showjumping helmet guidelines can be found at British Showjumping Rule 101. Classes 85 and 98 allow Adult riders only, to wear alternative riding hats entirely at their own risk. AFFILIATIONS: This show is affiliated to British Driving Society, British Showjumping, British Skewbald and Piebald Association, Equifest, Heavy Horse Society, Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain, Ponies (UK), Senior Showing and Dressage Ltd, Side Saddle Association, Suffolk Horse Society, The Showing Register(TSR) Equifest qualifiers: The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest Championship to be held at the East of England Showground on 29 th August-1 st September 2019 Ponies Association (UK). This show is affiliated to Ponies Association (UK). 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd placed competitors in the appropriate classes will qualify for the Ponies (UK) Summer Classic on the 31 st August / 1 st September Competitors do not have to become members of the Association to compete at the Summer Classic. TSR Showing Finals- This show is a qualifier for the 2019 TRS Showing Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Finals: Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales and South West or Scottish. You do not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The rider/handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of the Finals. TSR Riders Finals 1 st and 2 nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. TSR In Hand Finals The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand Class. 5 SUFFOLK HORSES The Suffolk Horse Society is indebted to the Horserace Betting Levy Board for its grant, which enables the Society to give premiums and grants to stallion owners. This show is a qualifier for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. The horse that qualifies will be eligible for the final competition, which will take place at the Suffolk Spectacular to be held in September This show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes 1-19 are qualifiers for championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where a licence is pending but not yet issued. The highest placed registered Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron in an affiliated ridden heavy horse class to qualify for the BRHHS Championship, qualification to go down no lower than third place and there has to be three horses forward in the ring for the qualifier to be awarded. Riders of stallions must be 16 years or over. This class is designed to encourage the horse/pony and rider to perform stylishly. Fences min 65cm max 76cm. Method of Judging 1. Horses/ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts. Course builders are recommended to avoid fences with a related distance. 2. Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10, at the judge s discretion. 3. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result in elimination. 4. A fall of a horse or rider will result in elimination. 5. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be

12 awarded for the overall impression at the completion of each round. 6. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine final placing. Should there still be an equality of marks, the jumping marks will be taken into consideration- the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until a result is achieved. Class 62 Class 63 Working Hunter 4 years old and over. (over 143cm) Rider any age. Fences max 80 cm. Ponies (UK) Working Hunter Gold Medal Series Horse/Pony, Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age. These classes are designed to encourage the horse/pony and rider to perform stylishly. Minimum height 76cms and maximum height 90cms. METHOD OF JUDGING FOR CLASS 81 Competitors to enter the ring individually and will not be ridden by the judge. Phase 1 Performance and Freestyle Show 60 marks Phase 2 Conformation, Type and Suitability 40 marks The freestyle show to include the following in an area of 40m x 60m Halt, walk on a long rein, ordinary trot serpentine (2 or 3 loop) extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal Not to exceed 2 mins Class 82 Best Local Hunter Mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, open to both horses and ponies. Riders any age, no lead reins permitted. Horse or Pony must hunt regularly with, or be owned/ridden by a subscriber to the Easton Harriers, Essex & Suffolk Hunt or Waveney & Dunston Harriers. HUNTER/SPORTS HORSES IN HAND Judges: Mrs Lavinia Wells Ring 4 will follow on Class 83 Hunter/Sports Horse in hand. Yearling, 2 year or 3 year old Colt, filly or gelding.. Special rosette for best 2 year old if not winner. TSR qualifier. Cards to be provided by 1 st and 2 nd competitiors where relevant. SPECIAL 84 Best hunter/sports horse from classes 83 bred from Suffolk stallion or out of a Suffolk mare or with either as a grandparent. Put name and stud book number of Suffolk sire or Suffolk dam on your light horse entry. A special rosette will be awarded. This class is held in memory of Frank Litchfield. 14 IBERIAN HORSES Affiliated to The Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain Judge: Ms Jackie Stevens Ring Class 85 Parade Class To be ridden in correct traditional Portuguese or Spanish tack and dress. Open to pure bred or part bred Lusitano and Spanish horses aged 4 years and over, registered with the Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain (LBSGB) or Great Britain Pura Raza Espanola (GB PRE) Please note that the Show s safety hat rules are waived for this class. Adult competitors not wearing Safety hats do so entirely at their own risk. This does not apply to Juniors who must wear hats to current safety standards or above.. Class 86 Iberian English Ridden Class Ring to be advised 1400 To be ridden in correct English Tack and Dress. Competitiors must wear a hat to current safety standards or above. Open to purebred or partbred Lusitano and Spanish horses aged 4 years and over, registered with the LBSGB or the GBPR If a purebred Lusitano is placed 1 st in this class, it will qualify for the 2019 National Lusitano Championship of the Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain to be held at the Lusitano Breed Show 14 th -16 th June The Best Spanish Horse in each class will receive a Rosette from GB Pura Raza Espanola The Best Lusitano in each class will receive a Rosette from the Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain. FAMILY /RIDING CLUB HORSE/PONY Judge: Ms Lucy Carvall Ring Class 89 Family Pony/Horse Rider any age. Judging will focus on suitability of pony/horse to rider. The Clair Phillips Perpetual Memorial Trophy (presented by the Phillips family)

For Stallions handlers must be 16 or over. Prizes: 1 st 10 2 nd 8 3 rd 6 4 th 4 Pre Senior Ridden. Open to ponies or horses years old. Senior Ridden. Open to ponies or horses years old Senior Plus. Open to ponies or horses 24 years or older. The Hennessy Challenge Cup (presented by the late G N Hennessy Esq) will go to the best Senior Pony or Horse. Open to members and non members of SSADL. No spurs, galloping or wearing of face and body jewellery. Whips must not exceed 30 inches. Foals are not permitted in these classes For In Hand Classes- Minimum age of handler 9 yrs old Stallions: for In Hand or Ridden classes Competitors must be 16 years of age or over. The stallion must wear the SSADL badge. Competitors cannot enter the ring once the command of trot has been given. Both the rider/handler/pony/horse combination and their mode of riding must stay the same from their First Qualifier to the Grand Final. All competitors must acquaint themselves with SSADL rules at 1st to 3rd places in each class will receive a 10 voucher from Anthony Evans Insurance 1st to 6th places will receive SSADL qualification and prize cards in the ring. Competitors need one qualification card per section per season, if already qualified this will be handed down the line. Log in to SIDE SADDLE Judge: Mrs Caroline Aitchison Ring Class 98 Side Saddle Concours d Elegance The sole criterion of this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of three or four riders to give short displays. Four Special rosettes will be awarded: to the highest placed Registered Adult members wearing a silk hat, a bowler hat, safety hat and the highest placed Registered Junior Member of the S.S.A. carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Please note: The Show s safety hat rules are waived for this class BUT adult competitors who are not wearing Safety hats do so entirely at their own risk. Juniors must wear hats conforming to current British Safety Standards or above. Prizes: 1 st 10 2 nd 8 3 rd 6 4 th 4 Judge: Mr Simon Somers Ring Class 99 The Side Saddle Association Equitation Championships Open Qualifying Class Run under S.S.A. Rules defined in the current Member s Handbook. Open to S.S.A. members and Non-Members. Registered Members carrying their current Championship points Cards are eligible for S.S.A. rosettes to 3 rd Adult and 3 rd Junior places and S.S.A. Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed member under 14 on 1 st January of the current year. Competitors must wear a hat to current safety standards or above. A rosette in memory of The Late Mr R Philpot is offered to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out. Competitors must wear a hat to current safety standards or above. Prizes: 1 st 10 2 nd 8 3 rd 6 4 th Class 100 Best Horse or Pony Ridden Side Saddle Open to horses and ponies 4 years old or over: conformation & manners will be taken into consideration; horses/ponies will not be stripped. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult and Junior Members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. DOG AGILITY CLASSES If you are bringing your dog with you to Woodbridge Horse show why not have a go at our FUN Dog Agility Course. Help and encouragement will be offered and if you don t have a dog with you, but would still like a go then please ask as we may be able to hire you a friendly dog at a little extra charge. Agility Equipment is provided courtesy of Paws of Parham Dog Agility Club. Running from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm. Rosettes will be awarded at 3pm. There will be a charge for each go all funds are going to be donated to a Charity nominated by the organisers of the dog agility classes and will be specified on the day. BYE LAWS 1. All Suffolk horses must be entered under the registered name of the bona fide owner or be hired by the exhibitor. All Suffolk horses must be from Suffolk parents registered in the UK Suffolk Horse Society Stud Book. Pedigree section. 2. All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where a licence is pending but not yet issued. 3. No stallion may be exhibited unless wearing full stallion harness. Every stallion must be safely restrained while he is on the Showground and the decision of the Show Director in the matter of the handling of stallions will be final. 4. Nomination entries for Suffolk Horses will not be accepted. 5. Prize schedules and entry forms may be obtained from the Secretary and no horse will be entered until such a form is received by the Entries Secretary and fees paid. 6. That fees for the entry be received the Secretary on or before 8 th April 2019 as shown in this schedule and entries received after that date and on the day will be at a fee to be decided annually by the Show Committee. No late entries for Suffolk horses. Entry fees are not returnable. If, however, the Society shall refuse an entry, cancel a class or classes or the Show, entry fees may be refunded at the discretion of the Council. It may refuse an entry or cancel any entry already accepted without giving any reason for doing so and reserves the right to refuse entries from any person who is under exclusion or suspension by any breed, livestock or show organisation. Any fees refunded shall be accepted by the exhibitor or intending exhibitor in full satisfaction of all claims against the Society.

28 7. The public will be admitted to the showground at rates to be decided annually by the Show Committee. Car parking is free. Cars accompanying lorries may park in the Lorry Park at their own risk, at a cost of 10 per car, payable at the gate. 8. The decision of the judges is final and they will be instructed not to award a prize in classes in which the animals exhibited do not possess sufficient merit. No second prize will be awarded in any class unless there are three or more exhibitors. No third prize will be awarded unless there are five exhibitors, and no fourth prize will be awarded unless there are eight exhibitors, except on special recommendation. If entries do not reach 20 or over, the fifth prize will not be awarded. 9. Servants in charge of stock shall be subject to the orders of the Show Director and Stewards of the Show. 10. Standing in a turnout vehicle by any person either while the vehicle is stationary or while it is being driven is not permitted on the Showground. Vehicles must be driven from either a sitting position or from the ground. 11. Any exhibitor shall be liable to forfeit 100 if any animal sent by him shall be labouring under an infectious or contagious disease. 12. In all cases of dispute a protest in writing, accompanied by a deposit of 5, shall be delivered to the Secretary before the close of the Show, otherwise the protest cannot be entertained. The Secretary shall immediately give notice of the protest to the Director and Chairman of the Show and the Stewards concerned, who shall if possible decide the case before the conclusion of the Show. Otherwise it will be referred to the Committee. In either case, the decision shall be final. The deposit of 5 shall be forfeited to the Society. When a protest is considered, all parties to the dispute shall be notified. 13. The Society, its Officers or Servants will not be responsible for, or accountable to, any person whatsoever for any damage or loss to the property of any person whatsoever or for any accident or injury, fatal or otherwise, or for any disease, damage or loss that may occur to any person whilst upon the Showground or car parks or whilst entering or leaving the same. The Society, its Officers or Servants shall not in any way be responsible or accountable for any accident, loss or damage that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their servants or agents, or to any exhibit or any vehicle conveying any exhibit, or any article or thing containing or relating to any exhibit or any other property brought into the Showground or for anything else in connection with or arising out of or attributable to the Society s Show. Exhibitors or their servants or agents shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to or occasioned by or arising from any animal or article exhibited by them and shall indemnify the Society against all legal or other proceedings, claims and costs arising therefrom. Exhibitors or their servants or agents should always be satisfied that the correct and appropriate restraining method and equipment is provided for use by animal handlers. Exhibitors must insure against fire and other appropriate risks not only as regards their own property but also in respect of any third party claim. 14. If a competitor enters two classes and times of the events clash, the competitor may claim a refund of the entry fee in respect of the class not participated in. 15.
