5 SUFFOLK HORSES The Suffolk Horse Society is indebted to the Horserace Betting Levy Board for its grant, which enables the Society to give premiums and grants to stallion owners. This show is a qualifier for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. The horse that qualifies will be eligible for the final competition, which will take place at the Suffolk Spectacular to be held in September This show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes 1-19 are qualifiers for championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where alicence is pending but not yet issued. Horses/ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts. Course builders are recommended to avoid fences with a related distance. b. Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10, at the judge s discretion. c. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result in elimination.

13 d. A fall of a horse or rider will result in elimination. e. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be awarded for the overall impression at the completion of each round. f. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine final placing. Should there still be an equality of marks, the jumping marks will be taken into consideration- the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until a result is achieved. Class 62 Class 63 Class 64 Special 64 Class 65 The BSPS Novice WHP, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, Not exceeding 13hh (133cm). Rider not to have attained 17 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year. The BSPS Novice WHP, mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, exceeding14hh (143cm), not exceeding 15hh (153cm). Rider not to have attained 20 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year. This is a qualifier for the Zenith Working Hunter Supreme Championship 2014 The BoyenLaburnham Challenge Trophy to be awarded to the best Working Hunter Pony in Class 64 The BSPS Mixed Height. Open working hunter pony/intermediate WH mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, not exceeding 158cms. Riders must jump in their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of animal they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony, providing the animals are of a different height section. Riders must declare if they are competing in the 153cm or Intermediate section. Prizes: 1 st 10 2 nd 8 3 rd 6 4 th 4 1 st,2 nd and 3 rd placed ponies/horses will qualify for P(UK) Colne WHP Winter Classic 2016 and Supreme Championship 2015.(excluding the intermediate section)the first 1 st prizewinner from class 65 will qualify for the BSPS Mitten Asbestos Champion of Champions 1 st 2 nd &3 rd placed horses/ponies will qualify for the P(UK)Winter Classic 2016 and P(UK)Supreme Championship st and 2 nd prizewinners from Classes 62 to 64, and 1 st to 4 th prizewinners from Class 65 will qualify for the BSPS Championships 2015, providing the pony is registered in accordance with Rule 23 and ridden by a BSPS member. 15 SHOW HUNTER PONY AND LOCAL RIDDEN PONY Affiliated to BSPS 13/15and P (UK) Judge: Sue Palmer Ring Class 80 Mixed Height OpenShow Hunter Pony Not exceeding 15hh(153cms). Mare or gelding. 4 years and over. Rider to be the correct age for the height of pony they ride. Qualifier for P(UK) Timberwolf, Show Hunter Pony of the Year Supreme Championship. The 1 st prizewinner from Class 80 will qualify for the Mixed Height SHP Pretty Polly Mixed Height Championship and for the BSPS Mitten Asbestos Champion of Champions. The Hennessy Challenge Cup (presented by the late G N Hennessy Esq) will go to the best Show Hunter Pony. 1 st 2 nd and 3 rd placed Horses/Ponies will qualify for the P(UK)Winter Classic 2016 and P(UK)Supreme Championship 2015 The 1 st placed ponies from the Open Heritage Classes will qualify for the BSPS WOW FACTOR (Winner of Winners) at the BSPS Summer Championship Show. 16 METHOD OF JUDGING FOR RIDDEN COMPETITION HORSE/PONY CLASSES Horses/Ponies to enter the ring individually and will not be ridden by the Judge. To be judged according to the P(UK) Performance/Competition Class Rules. Phase 1 Performance and Freestyle Show 60 marks Phase 2 Conformation, Type and Suitability for Dressage 40 marks The individual freestyle show to include the following movements in an arena no larger than 40m x 60m. Halt, walk on a long rein, ordinary trot serpentine (2 or 3 loop serpentine acceptable), extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal. Not to exceed 2 mins. Class 84 Best Local Pony not exceeding 15hh (153 cm). Rider to be under 16 years of age. NO leading reins allowed. Owned and ridden by a resident of Suffolk.
