1 O Dan Candidate Requirements Gi Cho (Hand & Foot): All hand and foot techniques covered in the Gup Manual and Instructional Guides, plus Dan Ki Cho Bup for Cho Dans and Ee Dans All will be called in Korean only. Hyungs: Chil Sung Yuk Ro Hyung, Yang Pyung, Sal Chu, Wang Shu, Sei Sun ALL PREVIOUS FORMS. Ho Sin Sool: All traditional HSS, bear hug, throat choke, full nelson, hair grab, headlock, shoulder grab Il Soo Sik: All 18 Endurance: The entire Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa will test the candidate s endurance. Weapons: Pistol Defense, Staff, Knife Sparring: Standard sparring, Three on One sparring Culture: History, background of Tang Soo Do, the philosophy behind all forms, answers to all questions in the handout, philosophy of the art including but not limited to the 8 Key Concepts, 10 Articles of Faith, Mission 2000, and The Five Moo Do Values. During Ko Dan Ja, your understanding of the physical philosophies of Tang Soo Do will be examined. To do so, ALL previously learned technique, form, or combinations WILL be requested. Paper Work Requirements, Essay, Test Fee: 1. Discuss the history, meaning, and characteristics of: a. Yang Pyun Hyung b. Kong Sang Koon Hyung 2. Describe the implications of the Sip Sam Seh to the origin and practice of: a. Hyungs b. Dae Ryun c. Moo Pal Dan Kum d. Ho Sin Sool: All traditional HSS, bear hug, throat choke, full nelson, hair grab, headlock, shoulder grab; At random continuously (not calling numbers, escape and counter) Il Soo Sik: All 18 at random continuously (not calling numbers, escape and counter) Endurance: The entire Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa will test the candidate s endurance. Weapons: All Previous (Pistol, Staff, Knife) Sparring: Standard sparring, Three on One, ground sparring with attacker standing Culture: History, background of Tang Soo Do, the philosophy behind all forms, answers to all questions in the handout, philosophy of the art including but not limited to the 8 Key Concepts, 10 Articles of Faith, Mission 2000, and The Five Moo Do Values.
