1 HIGH 5 S ALL ROUND On Sunday 13 th May Bedfordshire held a High 5 Festival. There were 19 teams and played across three courts all day. The weather was good, the netball was great and the Barbeque and food stall was a great hit too. We were so pleased to see teams from Bedford Community, Grangers, Maulden, Westoning, Leighton Buzzard Youth, Aylesbury Junior, Turnford & MK Netters. Sachel Grant, Beds NDO. It was a day full of enthusiastic players and coaches and umpires and a massive thank you to Bedfordshire County Netball Association and Claire Bowen & Leighton Buzzard Youth Netball and Shelton Trophies. A big Thank You to our Table Officials, players and siblings of players who did the scoring and time keeping all day. Congratulations to MK Netters who were are eventual winners who beat Leighton Buzzard Youth in the final. Grangers came third with Bedford Community Gems coming fourth. Suffolk held their second High 5 Festival on Sunday 14 th May at St Joseph s College in Ipswich and whilst the day started with some light drizzle, they were eventually blessed with glorious sunshine as the festival came to an end. There were nine teams entered this time and they were split into two age groups year 5 / 6 and year 3 / 4 and some players in this age group were even younger! It was a gruelling day for the players with pretty much non-stop games all morning, yet despite this the players looked like they were having a great time and were keen to play more games!

2 The final results were as follows: Group A (years 5 and 6) 1. Essex Rockets 2. Civil Service 1 3. Cedarwood 4. Blades 1 5. Collegiate Cats Group B (younger group) 1. Civil Service 2 2. Civil Service 3 3. Collegiate Kittens 4. Blades 2 Well done to all the winners and up who all received trophies and medals and all the players involved who each got a certificate! They also asked the umpires to nominate a Player of the Match after each game, it was lovely to see that most of the players were nominated at some point but the final winners from each age group were: Group A Anna from Collegiate Cats Group B Lacey from Civil Service 3 A huge thank you to all the umpires for doing a great job all day, the coaches who managed their teams brilliantly and were so accommodating to a few changes to the fixtures and also all the parents and supporters I heard some lovely comments from the side lines about their children playing so well and enjoying it, which is ultimately what it s all about! One final thanks to my right hand woman Vicky Rose who once again gave up her Sunday morning to keep track of the results and time with her sharpie pens and horn! Thanks Vicky! 3 WALKING NETBALL COMES TO HARLOW Essex have launched a new Walking Netball session at Marks Hall- Harlow. Pat is the lovely host who has over 20 years experience coaching netball. On the first week they had 7 lovely ladies come along. They are now 5 weeks in and have had enough for two whole teams to play against each other which was fantastic. This week they had 4 newbies and Carol said The session was so much fun and the group were really welcoming Already looking forward to next week s session! The sessions are for any ladies over the age of 16 and the sessions run 11am-12pm on Thursdays all abilities and ages are welcome! We have worked in partnership with Active Essex and Active Harlow to get the sessions off of the ground and here are some pictures of the group over the last 5 weeks.
