1 BC HOCKEY PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS PEEWEE TIER 4 LUMBY, B. C. MARCH 14-18, 2009 On behalf of Lumby Minor Hockey and our BC Hockey Provincial Championship Tournament Committee. I would like to congratulate you on an outstanding season. With your Zone Championship you have earned the right to represent your district at the 2009 BC Hockey Provincial Peewee Tier 4 Championships, an event we are honored to host. We look forward to you having a great experience in Lumby and entertaining us with some fantastic hockey. Please take the time to review all of the information noted below, as this will be vital in us making this the hockey experience of a lifetime for your team. As time is of the essence we ask that you complete all of the following documentation and forward to us no later than March 1, MANDATORY COACHES/MANAGERS MEETINGS This meeting will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Lumby Community Centre following the banquet (approx. 8 pm). Introductions Review of Rules and Regulations (Branch Representative) Collection of Team Registration Materials - all teams are to bring their team first contracts as well as a copy of their HCR team roster BC Hockey Referee in Chief Introduction Question Period TEAM PICTURES/LOGOS We will require an official team picture (please ensure the quality of the picture is good as we will be using for all tournament print material) we would like player order specified on the picture. We will also need a jpg image of your association/team logo and your home and away jersey colors. Please your team photo and players names as per picture to Geri O Rourke at rogo9404@telus.net. 2 MEDICAL INFORMATION We are asking that you forward any information regarding your team that you would feel necessary to have on file so that prompt medical attention can be provided in the best possible manner in the unfortunate event of an injury to one of your players (i.e. if you have players that suffer from asthma, allergies, chronic injuries). TOURNAMENT LOCATION The 2009 BC Hockey Peewee Tier 4 Provincial Championships will take place at the Pat Duke Memorial Arena at 2270 Shields Avenue, Lumby, BC which is a beautiful 25 minute drive from Vernon to the gateway to the Monashees. The arena offers a concession for your convenience during the games as well as housing a skate sharpening facility. BANQUET The 2009 BC Hockey Provincial Championship Banquet is an event that all teams can use as a chance to get meet other players from all teams participating. Our organizing committee has worked very hard to make this a special event for all teams. Banquet: 6:00pm at the Lumby Community Centre Banquet Dress Code: Dress Pants, Shirt & Tie or team attire all players and team officials are to attend. TOURNAMENT PASSES Tournament passes can be ordered in advance at a cost of $20.00 for a family of 2 adults and up to 4 kids or $15 per person. We will also be offering a fee of $2.00 per game, $5.00 per day and for a family as noted above $5.00 per game. Parents are encouraged to pre-order tournament passes which will be distributed to the team manager which will make access to your team s first game easier. Players and all accredited coaching staff will be provided with a tournament accreditation pass. These will be a REQUIRED item in order to gain entry to arena facilities during the event.

3 BC HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS TOURNAMENT SOUVENIR APPAREL The host committee has established a line of tournament apparel that will be available for pre-sale for the event. We have Hoodies, T-Shirts and Hats featuring the BC Hockey Official logo. We encourage parents and players to order in advance as to ensure that articles will be available when they arrive. It is imperative that the March 1 deadline be adhered to in order to have the apparel available at the start of the championships. Please contact Travis Sexsmith for further information on orders. He can be reached at or cell at OPENING CEREMONIES Our opening ceremonies will take place on March 15 at 7:30pm at the Pat Duke Memorial Arena, 2270 Shields Avenue, Lumby. Team attendance is mandatory. The two teams participating in the game immediately following the ceremonies should please be dressed in full equipment. The remaining teams are asked to wear dress pants, shirt, tie and home jersey. All teams are asked to be at the arena no later than 6:45pm. We would like to have all teams bring their team banner to be used in the opening ceremonies. PHOTOGRAPHY We are pleased to be providing on site photography during the entire BC Hockey Peewee Tier 4 Provincial Championships. SKATE SHARPENING We have an in-house ice skate sharpening booth at the arena. There are two other locations in Vernon which handle skate sharpening and hockey supplies. One is Source for Sports located at th Street in Vernon and also Excellent Edge which is located behind Tim Hortons and Polson Park Diner off Highway 6 across from Polson Park.
